Ranking the Excruciating Pain of Stinging Insects
There are enough painful stinging insects in the world that an official Schmidt’s Sting Pain Index has been created. Named after biologist Justin Schmidt who studied insects and even subjected himself to their incredibly painful stings, the late scientist helped qualify the pain with colorful, creative descriptions of how they feel. Atlas Obscura has a great article giving tribute to this brave…

So I’ve been seeing a lot of physical attacks mentioned which is cool or whatever but I HAVE to know. Could you rate Reuniclus’ Future Sight ( @solosissupposes )
Physical attacks are mentioned most often because people have a harder time understanding the MENTAL pain many SPECIAL attacks cause compared to the much more easy to comprehend nature of PHYSICAL pain.
#579: Reuniclus (Future Sight) - 3 / 4 A mix of feeling impending doom and Deja Vu. A sharp pain snakes from your head down your spine, leaving behind the tingling numbness of a limb 'falling asleep' in its wake. Rating psychological pain is difficult, but the feeling that something bad will happen and has already happened sticks for hours, a disorienting dread that must be accounted for.

Mila was extremely extremely gloomy on Monday (her tail was tucked between her legs, she barely barked when normally she barks all day, she wasn't following any of us around) & also yelped whenever we touched her left front leg which explained why she hadn't jumped on any of our beds OR the couch at all. & obviously we all got really worried & my sister took her to the vet this morning w/ help from her bf & the vet told them they couldn't find anything glaringly wrong w/ her, still they gave her a few vaccines & some prescription medicine ....
anyways my mom was trying to feed her the pill and really not succeeding cause Mila would start chewing it or just spit it out & I told her to just let me try (which she was adverse to cause I mostly annoy Mila or play w/ her so she probably sees me as another dog rather than yknow. a Human that she listens to) so she did and it took me a little bit of work to open her snout but as soon as I did I just put what was left of the pill on the back of her gums, pushed it a little bit & held her snout shut immediately and then we heard a loud gulp like YAAAAY!!!!!!

trying out ibispaint and trying to get used to it
when i first used it my fingers hurt, but im getting used to sketching on it
the reason why im learning to use it is to see if my ADHD likes it--you know, to see if i could keep my brain engaged by switching up the workflow a bit

i've been thinking a lot about betrayal narratives lately. i think it's convenient to believe you've been lied to or betrayed when an unpleasant truth is too difficult to bear. sometimes a person has tried to communicate it repeatedly, but it just wasn't understood.
as much as it hurts to be surprised by an unbearable reality, well-intentioned people aren't being honest to hurt you personally, they're being honest because they have to be. it's unsustainable to operate on a falsehood.
it can be a struggle to bear bad news when you sense that no amount of effort or pain on your part will be acknowledged in favor of the other party's reaction.
but it's easier to rip the bandaid off when we can both hold each other through it, so try to take people in good faith when you can.
