Hello! Hope everything is going well! I think my question is going to be weird, but I was wondering how do you write Eren? Your fanfic made me want to write an eremin fanfic about time loops. Writing E is so difficult because I don't know if I've been making him ooc because I never know how he would react if A doesn't want to be friends anymore or if Armin don't give a shit about what he says, like the table scene. Who knows if I will ever publish because it's terrible. Do you have any tips?
hello!
well it all depends on the type of eren you want to write. i would love to read your time loop story! let me know when you've posted it!
eren is a bit diffcult but it depends on how you want the time loops to affect him.
questions you have to ask yourself:
is it just armin who is going through the timeloop?
how does his actions change everything around him?
eren and mikasa are the closest people to him, so his actions would affect them but in what way?
what would happen to his grandfather?
your new actions/change of things would affect what?
those are important to think about before you begin to write.
the type of eren (and mikasa) will come from that. my eren is born from the very simple changed action of armin pulling away. armin leaving him behind and not depending on him. armin moved away - eren changed directions because he no longer had the 'freedom eyes' at his side. he became more aware of his surroundings, took notice of things and was able to make clear decisions. this made him 'not bored of life' and more of 'what do i want from life'. thats why titans weren't so important to him anymore. armin wasn't there to push that narative and so, eren found a new one himself.
painted skies eren had to grow up quickly and face the realization that armin doesn't need him.
the quesiton then became:
if eren knows armin doesn't need him anymore, then what can he do to stay with armin?
my answer - who eren is in a nutshell in painted skies.
i'm not sure if that makes sense, but those were my notes at the beginning. i have these sort of notes for all my characters (yes, horned eren included).
