I HATE how so much of the discourse around She-Hulk series is around Cox returning as Matt Murdock/Daredevil (understandably so)

But PLEASE for the love of God, I really hope the audience and ESPECIALLY the show (or maybe even ESPECIALLY the audience as well) focuses on the story of Jen Walters than everything else

MCU content these seems to be more and more about setting up everything else rather than putting more emphasis on the story at hand

The whole "week-to-week speculation" thing is really the death of meaningful stories for the characters.

Ms Marvel started out a promising coming-of-age story, about a young POC girl who gets what she wished for, and it quickly spiraled into the entire story being focused about her lineage rather than HER story

She became a plot device than an actual character in her story and at the end of the series the discourse was about Mutants, Mutants, Mutants

Not about Kamala Khan

The fandom is to blame as well, we seem to thrive on speculation and buzz more and the result is this

I really don't see anyone actually talking about HER story, because you know why?

The people behind the series themselves didn't put in the work

I hope Marvel will be the one to put an end to this and stop using series and movies as backdoor pilots to set up literally everything else instead of focusing on the current story they are supposed to be telling at hand

The Bad Guys!

I recently watched "The Bad Guys" and did some drawing but they are mostly before because when I saw the trailer drop I was so excited for it to come out but I didn't start drawing them yet until I watched the feature videos and the 6minutes of it on YouTube as well as DreamWorks TikTok videos of them so yeah!

Also please note that I do not draw anthro morphic animals/furry's? a lot and I'm still working on it.

I did doodles of them for the first time, trying to get there structures and features right

I also made an OC, her name is Roxanne Jones Retriever and she is Black Scottish (she is a chocolate Golden retriever and is sometimes mistaken for a Labrador Retriever, reasons for why I made her Scottish is because Golden Retrievers origin are from the Scottish Highlands and I thought it would fit her 😊)

She and snake have some bad history together, tension between them are thicker than icing on a cake. Even though it doesn't look like it on the drawings I was still figuring out her character and personality, I have some of it down, like with Snake and Her having this from Friends, to Enemies, to Friends, then Lovers.

I low-key think that they always have these old couple arguments that have sass, some petty insults with a dash of flirting/teasing from both sides lol

Yes I ship Roxanne with Snake. She's 3 years younger than him. Fight me.

She works along side with Governor Diane Foxington after she retired from the Navy, after the deal with Professor Marmalade and Wolf, she volunteered to be the Bad Guys parole officer to keep a close eye on them incase they step out of line. (Even though Chief Luggins wanted to Roxanne wanted to help her relax more)

Tyrese is the Blue Heeler (this is him in development phase as I thought he should be a Retriever to but thought I should change it and shake it up a bit), as I don't have a fully figured out name for the other one as a default I'll use Abed, who is my favorite character from Community and always shall be, he is Pakistani American! They are both the adopted sons of Roxanne and she loves them to death, and will hurt/kill anyone who harms her babies.

I see a good dynamic between them and the crew

Personal head cannons

Piranha being that chaotic big brother who get into trouble the most

Shark being the gentle big guys he is as the responsible, chilled out guy

Wolf showing them the moves and how to be cool, helping with popularity and etc. in school

Tarantula being that sister that just sits and watches stuff on her phone letting them do anything they want, possibly joining in (in my opinion)

Snake, I have feeling that he'd also be like Tarantula but knows when to get serious. Father-sons relationship.

I am still figuring out designs for Roxanne and Tyrese and still working on how to draw the Bad Guy and Diane better same goes for Officer Luggins and the News lady (I forgot her name sorry)

Uh guys, in case you aren't all caught up, the graphic novel that started as a little queer comic on Tumblr by ND Stevenson (creator of Shera: Princesses of Power) has been adapted by Netflix into an adorable movie about the contemporary genderqueer experience. Go watch Nimona. RIGHT NOW. (Also read the book!)

The movie also features an API gay couple. Ambrosius Goldenloin is an Asian American descendant of the revered knight, Gloreth, and he dyes his hair blonde to match hers and fit the white saviour image that the public expects from him. He is manipulated golden child of a conservative white woman trying to assert control over the kingdom. Ballister Boldheart is a darker-skinned (desi! muslim!) British Pakistani sweetheart who had to bootstrap his way to the top and still couldn't win model minority status with the head of the institute, and is framed for crimes he didn't commit and condemned by the state. The character designs are both modeled after their voice actors, Eugene Lee Yang and Riz Ahmed. Both actors have done extensive DEI work for the API LGBTQ+ community and visibility!

They are archenemies. They are lovers. They are husbands but also kind of divorced. They will find their way back to each other because they are simply victims of the same system, and they are just so soft for each other and what they want to protect. They are also Nimona's dads. They're slightly different from how they were in the book, but I'm so glad for the changes. And I'm so glad for what remained exactly the same as ND Stevenson envisioned years ago:

The concept of birthright is wild because that logic doesn't work when applied to other cultures.

Pakistani's from Pakistan would consider me a foreigner. Hell they'd see my parents as foreigners, and they were born there.

But somehow that logic doesn't apply to Israel?

They'll accept foreign settlers as their citizens but won't accept the indigenous population of Palestinians... Or see them as human?

It's crazy how in any other immigrant culture Netanyahu would be considered a foreigner in his home country.

Because yeah he was born in Tel Aviv but he was raised in America.

But no ones like oh he's turned American, he's not Israeli enough.

God that last post is so fucking frustrating because Asians experience so many microaggressions for names especially when you live in a non Asian country and it's the worst thing. Because names MEAN something and in Asian cultures the mean a whole lot they're about history and extend so far back. They have deep and complex meanings that vary from country to country. And people make fun of them or mispronounce them and continue to do so or ask "can I call you -whitename- instead" like it's a nickname that's cute no fuck off, or like how sometimes we have multiple names because we have to or we have to make up a name cause we think we need to or even consider changing our own name to something dumb like Betty because the incredible culturally significant and beautiful name we have ends up bringing us nothing but pain because it's just another way to ostracize and bully and exclude us. That we have to make ourselves palletable to white folks because "wow you're so pretty and foreign I wish I had your eyes/hair/skin" but "your name is hard to say can I call you this instead"

It's disgusting, and if you find you disagree then you need to stop fetishizing us and learn some Goddamn empathy and respect or go read your dumb white vampire book or your stupid hoover lady and leave our spaces alone
