We got married on a cold mid-winter's morning
We said our lines
Then kissed
And it was over
Those pronouncements had such weight
I guess they made us hesitate
A-ha - I Call Your Name

What’s your current ranking for your favorite Ah-Ha songs?
It's really hard for me to rank favorites for media (especially music) but here's some of my favorites of theirs in no particular order:
The Sun Always Shines on TV
Cry Wolf
Manhatten Skyline
Crying in the Rain
Dark is the Night for All
Summer Moved on
Minor Earth, Major Sky
Lifelines
Also, if you're interested in seeing more of the style from the Take on Me video, you should watch Train of Thought! (from the YT video description:)
"The black-and-white footage and animation in the "Train Of Thought" video was the inspiration for the animation of "Take On Me." It originated as a college art project, and went on to influence the generation of MTV. The video concept was designed by the same producers of the "Take On Me" video."

One of the most underrated bands in history.
I've just found out about this documentary: a-ha, The Movie (2021), there's nowhere I can watch it... (It's on Prime Video, but NOT in my country) and they wonder why people still use torrents.

First post
This account is all about 80s and the music, fashion and media that I love from this time period 💕
I was going through a massive 80s phase in my late teens, denim on denim everyday, watched 21 jump street (TV SHOW NOT THE FILM😂) twice back to back, bright orange eyeshadow and crazy hair. Oh, and I refused to listen to anything other than A-ha!
Now at 22, the feeling of happiness from wearing a denim jacket and blasting “the sun always shines on TV” in the car on a road trip never gets old.
I think my love of 80s comes from wanting to escape into a time which seemed so much more optimistic and full of hope and opportunity. My parents were both born in 1960 and had the time of their lives throughout the 80s when they were my age now.
My mom tells me about going to the discos with her friends, meeting her first love (not my dad 😂), how it was a better time.
My dad had long hair, and rode a motorbike (cannot imagine this, he can barely drive a car lol).
I hope anyone who comes across my page can retreat into the joy of this time period and share the music which gives me so much happiness, and I’d love to hear your thoughts and feelings.

I sort of want to end this post by saying whether you’re coming to this post to relive the best times of your life, or whether you are coming here to experience a time you’ve never lived through (like me) please enjoy!
Also that, if you’re a person who misses the past, or a young person feeling lost in 2024, things always have the chance to get better and the future is still bright 🌞. Time flies so quickly, so we need to make the most of every moment with the people we love, and try not to let life get us down🧡
Lots of love 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Han.

Release: November 24, 1986
Lyrics:
Night I left the city,
I dreamt of a wolf
He came from where the winds are cold
And truth is seen through keyholes
Strange longings never sleep
Now he's come where no hearts beat
Cry wolf
Time to worry
Cry wolf
Time to worry
You can start, but you cannot stop
You give in, but you can't give up
You can tell all your desperate jokes
To a world that puts
Love on hold
Cry wolf
Time to worry
Cry wolf
Time to worry now
Songwriter:
The sunken-in eyes
And the pain in his cries
A shape in the dark
Cry wolf
Time to worry
Cry wolf
Time to worry now
Magne (mags) Furuholmen / Pal Waaktaar
SongFacts:
"Cry Wolf" is a song by Norwegian band A-ha, released as the second single from their second studio album Scoundrel Days (1986).
The lyrics "At night when I left the city I dreamed of a wolf…" were written by Lauren Savoy, who was later married to the band's guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy.
"Cry Wolf" was the most successful single from the Scoundrel Days album in the United States, where it reached number 14 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart and number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100, although it would be the band's last entry in this table. The single reached the top 40 in various other countries, including top five positions in the United Kingdom and Ireland and number two in Norway. The single was certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) on January 1, 1987.
The video was shot by Steve Barron in Couches at Chateau de Couches, Burgundy, France. The video's theme was taken from the fable The Boy Who Cried Wolf, which also served as the inspiration for the song.
