My diorama is a devotional place. I develop it from the spatial narrative. I try to make the place looks longer by making the place smaller at the back and tilted toward the center. Everything would getting smaller and smaller in the back. I got an inspiration from Palazzo Spada, Borromini, Italy.

(Palazazo Spada)

There would be tattoo-shaped widow on both side of the walls. It would cast shadows on the other side of the wall. There are objects that is related to devotion and tattooing on the walls and columns.

(Columns)

There are three columns on each side. Different columns represents the steps of what people do when they go to temple.The first one is praying with flowers, instant sticks, and candles. Then offering things such as foods, fruits, and more to monks. After that, people might take amulets from the temple back home and worship it.

People come to this place for devoting or worshiping because they think they would end up in heaven. Therefore, the ceiling is covered with a painting of sky because some people believe that heaven in up in the sky. The furthest part is day time sky and as it goes forward, it becomes a nighttime sky. The reason is that whenever they come here, they would be close to the heaven.

I paint everything outside black because the color that comes to people’s mind when they think of Sak Yant is black. However, everything inside is white people because who get the Yant should be good in order to get the full power of the Yant. They have to follow the five Buddhist precepts and do not disrespect teachers or parents which I think that a color to represent that is white.
