Just got another design approved! A little dove wrapped in a keffiyeh.
ALL PROCEEDS from Palestine related sales through my Redbubble shop will go to my Palestinian best friend to help him bring his girlfriend over to America. Any left over will be used to help his family/other loved ones affected by the war. He’s an incredible person. Kind, altruistic, a genius scientist, passionate activist and all around the best person I have ever met. He deserves so much better than all the horrible things happening right now.
Find the design here (sorry the mugs look a little weird in the previews, not sure if the company will print them right):

A package arrived from Palestine!
Tumblr media
Wow that's nice 👍
Tumblr media
Let's try it on (excuse my tricolour beard)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last remaining Keffiyeh factory in Palestine is the Hirbawi factory. Sadly all other Keffiyehs are made outside the land we associate them with. But lucky for those who want to support Palestinian business and artisans, they have some absolutely stunning colour combinations and gorgeous workmanship. This one has a very soft creamy yellow, a white, and brown embroidered accents, it is clear that there's a lot of care and artistry to their designs.
I found this one on Etsy from Meetpalestinestore but the Hirbawi website is half the price at kufiyas.org - it just has been on back order for a long long time due to the occupation's recent violence and forced economic shutdowns.
If you're interested I could show you my others, I really love these garments and this is my third from this great traditional factory. I know it isn't much, but I am proud to be able to support a business keeping this beautiful industry alive, and in a small way support a people who are facing unthinkable hardship too.

This IS BEYOND unacceptable -FU to Doug Ford and ANY politician/public figure in the Ontario Legislature who agrees with this. A keffiyeh is a traditional scarf worn by many Arab people, and people in West Asian communities. It does represent/symbolize Palestinian resistance and solidarity (among many aspects, of course), but that's not a crime -and trying to censure someone's right to wear traditional garments because you'd rather pander to zionists (as this article notes, many wear religious wear every day in office), is the real issue here -this is discrimination. This is legislated discrimination and is hateful.

Your posts about making art during the strikes made me want to make something, and since the Hirbawi keffiyehs are perpetually sold out (and I am so happy for them that this is the case) and I've been wanting to try out knit colorwork I am working on a keffiyeh scarf! I look forward to a day when I will be able to wear it in celebration of Palestinian freedom, as well as in solidarity.
Much love to you and yours, and thank you for everything you share here.

Title correction: Palestinian students get attacked by zionist students sponsored by Israeli lobby on Concordia University campus. Israeli lobby covers for them and the harassment they subject Palestinian students to.
[...] There are countering points of view emerging as to how the situation devolved into violence.
Sarah Shamy says she stopped by before the confrontation started to buy a scarf from students who had a pro-Palestine kiosk set up to raise money for a charity. Shamy said that a group of pro-Israel people came barging in and began screaming anti-Palestianian slogans and slurs at them.
Pro-Palestinian students then surged in to counter-demonstrate, and it quickly led to violence, Shamy said. She said many pro-Palestinian demonstrators were attacked and she, along with others, have submitted evidence to police to that effect.
"I think it just goes to show how Palestinian and pro-Palestine students have been faced with an onslaught of harassment and discrimination and doxing, which we can see is happening as we speak in this incident," she said.
In a joint news release, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) and the the Federation CJA said a group of Jewish students from Concordia University were trying to raise awareness about the 242 hostages held by Hamas militants in Gaza when they were were confronted by an angry crowd who harassed them verbally and physically.
The Jewish students had set up a table with posters of the hostages and other materials in a common area reserved for such activities. Jewish students were pushed around, harassed and faced a barrage of hate speech, including slurs, the release says. [...]
Note from the poster @el-shab-hussein: I have eye-witness accounts that were on campus when this happened. Security took down the postsers they had put up to intimidate the Palestinian students and the fundraiser and the longass line-up of supporters who'd shown up to spend money to help Ghazzans enduring genocide. The zionist students screamed at the security guards and nearly attacked them in response. Israeli lobby is covering for them and CBC continues to be complicit.

While I was looking into Fulla dolls, I found out another Muslim fashion doll was released around the same time!
Tumblr media
Meet Razanne! (And be prepared for a loooooong deep dive under the Keep Reading lol)
From what I've been able to piece together from various sources, she was created by Palestinian-American Ammar Saadeh and his wife Noor in 1996, being initially launched through the internet before more publicly advertised to Middle-Eastern and American audiences in 2004. Their goal was to show Muslim girls that "what matters is what's inside you, not how you look" (quoted from an interview with Greensoboro News and Record). They wanted to give them a role model with an emphasis on education and religion, while also having a career! To reflect the diversity of the global Muslim ummah, each of her dolls came in three variants: Pakistani-Indian (olive skin w/ dark hair), Black (dark skin w/ dark hair), and Caucasian (fair skin w/ fair hair).
While unfortunately she's no longer in production, the WayBack machine has a record of all her dolls released through the Noorart website! Each doll listing also includes additional information to educate on Islamic culture!
Tumblr media
First there's Schoolgirl Razanne, whose listing reads:
"Razanne loves school and is all ready with her bright red book bag to join her friends in class. For your information…Traditional uniforms are worn by schoolgirls in Islamic schools. In addition to the usual subjects, students also study the Arabic language and the Qur'an - the Muslim Holy Book."
Tumblr media
Next we have Teacher Razanne, whose listing reads:
"What is a more honorable and specialized career than education? Our teacher Razanne comes full equipped with lap top computer, briefcase and all the necessary items for school. For your information... Many Muslim girls study to become educators. Two-piece suits with jacket and skirt are popular styles for Muslim women who work outside the home as teachers or other professionals."
Tumblr media
There's Playday Razanne, who unlike the prior two came with no accessories, her listing reads:
"Dressing modestly doesn't keep Razanne from having fun! On the playground, Razanne plays in her scarf and a loose fitting jumper that gives her lots of room to run and jump. For your information... Dressing modestly doesn't prevent Muslim girls from having fun outdoors! Whether biking, skating, on the playground or at the park children manage to have fun no matter where they are!"
Tumblr media
We also have a Muslim Scout Razanne, who came with a free audiotape of Muslim Scout Cheers and a preview of We Love Muhammad! Her listing reads:
"'I'm honest, kind and trustworthy.' Muslim Scouts' organizations all over the world help build character and skills for success in this life and the next. Razanne wears her merit badges and awards earned for community service, Islamic behavior and Qur'an memorization. Respect for Allah, parents and all members of the community are a top priority with Razanne. For your information…like all Scout troops, Muslim Scouts are encouraged to excel in personal attributes such as honesty, cooperation and leadership as well as taking an active part in community service and environmental protection."
Tumblr media
Next up there's Eid Mubarak Razanne, which came two different color variants for her outfit, her listing reading:
"Razanne is all ready to celebrate the Muslim holiday. Dressed in her new floral fashions of pink or blue, Razanne has Eid cards addressed to all her friends and is ready to deocorate the party with balloons. The perfect Eid gift for any girl! For your information… Muslims celebrate two major festivals each year. One is the Eid Al Fitr following the month-long fast of Ramadan. A second holiday occurs during the annual Pilgrimage to Makkah. Children and adults look forward to these two special days with great anticipation. Before the Eid the entire family goes out shopping for new clothes to wear for Eid Day. Early Eid morning the family meets with other members of the community for an Eid Prayer then disperse to family gatherings and other celebrations. Children are often given gifts of toys or money and families exchange delectable sweets that differ according to the region in which they live. Muslims exchange greetings of Eid Mubarak,"Eid Congratulations", Eid Saeed, "Happy Eid" and wish each other a coming year full of God's blessings. Kul 'am wa anta bi khair!"
Tumblr media
I wasn't able to find any other images for Prayer Razanne like the others unfortunately, and apparently she came with accessories too! Her listing reads:
"Allahu Akbar! God is the Greatest! It's time to pray and Razanne is ready! When it's time for prayer, many Muslim girls cover their everyday clothes with these traditional two-piece garments and stand to pray on colorful prayer rugs. We receive so many letters from customers that tell us that Razanne usually joins the family for salah! For your information… when it's time for prayer, many Muslim girls cover their everyday clothes with these traditional two-piece garments and stand to pray on colorful prayer rugs. Muslim women may pray in congregation at the Mosque but it is often more convenient to pray the five daily prayers at home."
Tumblr media
And finally we have In And Out Razanne, whose listing reads:
"In and Out Razanne comes with a two-piece fashion set for wear inside and outside the home. At home Razanne loves to dress in all the latest fashions. In a minute she can be ready to go out with this traditional jilbaab coat. Razanne helps Muslim girls understand that in the home they can be the ultimate fashion statement yet still have attractive attire while dressing modestly outside the home. For your information…Razanne helps Muslim girls understand that in the home they can be the ultimate fashion statement yet still have attractive attire while dressing modestly outside the home."
I'm honestly so glad I found this, because doing research into this doll has been a blast! I love the vintage vibes of her outfits with the patterns and color choices, and it makes me really happy seeing this doll being used as an educational tool for Islamic culture and practices!
Thank you to limbedolls.blogspot.com, emel.com, Greensboro News and Record, and "Framing Muslims" by Peter Morey and Amina Yaqin for the information that went into this long-ass post!
Ramadan Kareem!

Global Strike Day 3): Negro Matapacos
Tumblr media
[ ID: Digital, stylized artwork of Negro Matapacos, a black dog with a graying muzzle, running and smiling, a red and white kufiya wrapped around his neck. There's a darker red border around him, as well as white doodles. Red text around him reads: "Palestina Libre". Background is green. /End ID ]
Negro Matapacos was a Chilean dog who become a symbol against police brutality due to his anger towards cops in protests, specially during the 2011 student protests in Chile. He was often seen wearing a red bandana around his neck.
The kufiya is a traditional scarf worn in western Asia, most often by men. It's often associated with the movement for Palestinian liberation.

Can anyone wear keffiyeh or is it disrespectful/cultural appropriation?
Anyone of any religion/beliefs can wear them to show support to Palestine!! I would recommend only wearing it as a scarf and not on your head if you are not Arab, but otherwise it is not disrespectful at all to wear one and Palestinian’s view it as a sign of support!
I know they are hard to find lately, but some places I recommend buying them are:
kufiya.org is one of the only kuffiyeh factories still in business in Palestine, they are currently sold out but accepting preorders and I recommend supporting them!
kuvrd has many options and donates 10% of their profits to Gaza
nine seven zero rising has kuffieyh bracelets and accessories and donate 100% of profit to Gaza (I don’t think they ship to the United States)

I'm not altogether knowledgeable on how to bea mod but I want to help in some way. Is there anything I can do?
Tumblr media
Hello! First off, thank you so much for your interest and for reaching out to us! Both our mod and contributor applications are currently closed, but there are still other ways you can help, both with this charity and with the situation in general!
The first is by submitting fanart and fic requests (once those forms are open) here with us (@twst-charity) by sending a screenshot/receipt of a donation made to one of three charities (Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Medical Aid for Palestine, or Anera).
A very quick, easy, and free way to help is also by visiting this site and clicking the big, red, help button. If you’ve ever wanted to hit a big red button, now is the time to do so. This generates a donation to UNRWA to help Palestine.
Unfortunately, as many have heard by now, even these charities have been struggling to deliver resources to the people of Palestine due to blockades and frozen accounts, etc. Anera seems to continue to be successful in still getting resources where they are most needed, but the situation is constantly changing. We will be continuing to help raise donations in hopes that, as soon as there is an opportunity to do so, those charities will have the means and funds to make a difference.
However! There are still other ways to help Palestine and show your support. The first – and most important - is spreading awareness. Learn what is going on now and has been for the past 75 years. Be aware of propaganda and misinformation, whether purposeful or accidental. Archive tweets and posts and videos so that they cannot be scrubbed from the internet by those hoping to erase evidence of the genocide in Gaza. The importance of spreading the truth cannot be underestimated, especially with Netanyahu and the IOF increasing propaganda. Popular tags to do this include: #CeaseFireInGaza #CeasefireNOW and #FreePalestine!
Signing petitions and contacting representatives is also a good way to show your stance. Unfortunately, this does have some risk, due to organizations like c4n4ry mlssl@n (censored for safety) doxxing people who support Palestine.
Boycotting is another method that has been showing signs of success! The boycotting effort is being directed by the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC), which is the Palestinian leaderships of the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement. Frankly, far too many brands and celebrities have shown support for Palestine for the average person to avoid all of them. So, a certain few have been picked to have the most impact.
Boycott: Starbucks, McDonalds, Disney+ (which means no TWST microtransactions, y’all!), Domino’s Pizza, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, Burger King, AXA, Puma, Carrefour, hp, Siemens, Ahava, sodastream, and Israeli businesses. (Note from Mod Ryuu: This does NOT mean a general boycott on all Jewish businesses! Don’t be that person. You’re not helping.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you want to proudly show your support of Palestine IRL – and are safe to do so – a popular method is by wearing a Kufiya, the iconic scarf of Palestine. You can order an authentic Kufiya from Hirbawi at kufiya.org or from Kufiyas Australia at kufiyas.org.au If you’re not in a position where that’s possible, there are two other popular methods. The first is simply by wearing the colors of Palestine: Red, Green, White, and Black. The second ties into those colors and the history of colonialism in Palestine, where once it was illegal to fly the Palestine flag. Instead, people used the watermelon as a symbol to represent the flag. If you need a subtle means of showing support, the watermelon is the way to go.

THINGS NOT TO DO:
-Break the boycott, including doing things like ordering a bunch of food and then ditching without paying. You are only making life harder for the minimum wage employees doing their best, not the billionaires behind them.
-Do not spam the tags with posts not related to Palestine, etc. Keep your fandoms in their fandom spaces and so on. Unless, of course, you are doing a charity drive or something similar through your fandom.
-Be antisemitic. DO NOT harass or accuse Jewish people of being responsible for this genocide. Jewish people across the world have been protesting in defense of the Palestinian people even before this latest war began. More than 2/3 of people in Israel disagree with Netanyahu and the IOF based on recent polling.
