I love @lineacarta’s #dailysketchwithdiva as I work on things I normally would not think of. Last Thursday’s subject was pottery or sculpture. This papier mache woman is one of my favorite possesions in my house. It is small, its neutral but bold colors, quiet but strong gaze always calms me down.

Stormy Seas Goat Milk Soap, available online now. It's salty, sweet, and surprisingly lovely. School returns in the morning. Distance education for us. I've prepared for this by having a tooth pulled emergently and let me tell you, there's nothing quite like letting someone tear a bone right out of your skull for making things a little miserable. A chip in a filling rubbed against a neighbouring tooth and put the tiniest hole in the enamel. So by the time my face started to hurt last Thursday, the tooth was beyond saving. Particularly in a pandemic when they're trying to avoid all aerosolising procedures. FFS. I hate teeth. Stupid exposed bones. So. I've spent most of the evening recovering on the couch with every single painkiller in the house, interrupted only by having to print things for tomorrow's schoolwork. At which point my printer refused to talk to the network and my network refused to talk to the printer and 45 minutes of mucking around left me almost in tears. In a last ditch effort we reset the modem and SUCCESS, everything is friends again. (FFS) I'm recovering again on the couch, but it may be a slow week. By the time I baby my overexcited by easily overwhelmed children through their first few days of schooling, while also trying to heal a literal hole into my sinuses, I might not have so much time for packaging soap (bloody hell, packaging is such a nice escape when things are chaos.) Never mind.
