Paper Cuts (Webcomic)
Created by: toterpxl_
Genre: Thriller/Drama
Thank you for the people on one of the yandere discord I'm in for this recommendation! This entire webcomic is in black and whilte/grayscale and has a pretty haunting tone to it. As of now, the webcomic has about 11 chapters but I think the art and story is pretty good and gives off the tone of someone who is following you.
The story starts out with May attending her brother's funeral and calling her friend, Nina, afterwards who invites her to a sleepover. While walking there, she bumps into Eliott, her old pen pal. It seems that when May was younger, she had a hard time making friends, so her brother Adam suggested writing to a pen pal, who turned out to be Eliott. She enjoys writing to him until suddenly he stops, and has never heard from him until now. May asks why Eliott stopped writing to her, and he asks for forgiveness for abandoning her. May promises that she will never hate him. While going home, May realizes that her apartment door is open and checks inside to make sure nothing is stolen. There, she finds that the only thing that was stolen was something from Adam's room in a locked drawer, and decides to not report it since she didn't know what was inside. May hangs out with her friend Nina until Eliott pops by, not very happy about Nina's presence. While eating, Eliott asks May for a fork instead of chopsticks, but based on his reactions, she gets him a spoon instead to prevent him from actually harming Nina. Eliott asks May about Adam, to which May is distraught about, causing her to cry. Nina goes home and May escorts Eliott home asking if she hated Nina. Eliott tells May about his distaste in Nina, and before Eliott heads home, Eliott apologizes to May about making her upset. May laments about his death, and even wishes that she was taken too, to which Eliott attempts to comfort her. At home, May continues to cry about her brother Adam until Eliott shows up at the door, bringing her cake. They hang out a couple of times, with May seemingly being more and more suspicious every time. The last couple of chapters ends with Eliott reciting a poem in her sleep, confessing his love to her.
May is actually more perceptive as a main character than I thought she'd be. She starts to notice things like the fact that Elliott is extremely jealous towards Elliot and even giving him a spoon just to make sure he doesn't use it to hurt Nina. There's also other instances like wondering how he knows when she wakes up as well as knowing what happened to her brother. She still doesn't really know much about other things like him sneaking into her apartment and probably killing her brother, but I do think she will find out what he's done soon. Especially from what will likely happen to Nina.
Elliot as a yandere is pretty standard as what you would think of him, but I think it's done rather well. It's pretty obvious that Eliott was who killed or at least was involved with Adam's death and he's likely going to be the one who kills Nina as well. He's jealous, stalks May and tracks her sleep, which is why he's always able to come in and talk to her at all the right times. He seems to feel regret that he suddenly had to cut off May, going so much as to cry and ask if she hates him. I'm kind of curious what will happen when or if May finds out what happened with her brother, and what Eliott's reaction will be afterwards.
It's pretty short so far, but I like the look of the webcomic and where it's headed. I hope there will be more to read soon since it's pretty good!

Paper Cuts - By toterpxl (8/10)
Tumblr media
This is a classic stalker story. It's about a depressed girl, who has never had a stable life. She is finally isolated and alone, with no family left to protect her. Her stalker has been waiting for an opportunity, and now it's time to hunt.
The stalker, Elliott, is an author who writes about obsessive love. His target is May. A girl from an abusive family who had a protective older brother. After his death the stalker immediately moves to May's city.
Tumblr media
There are plenty of good people in May's life, but her brother was also her parental figure. He was...it. She has to support herself now. After his death she becomes depressed and she wishes she died with him. Their parents aren't dead, just neglectful. May has pretty bad abandonment issues.
Tumblr media
She attended her brothers funeral alone. Her best friend Nina could not attend. Elliot walks back into her life soon after. They were pen pals. Elliot was a good friend, but he lied to get on her good side. Her brother, Adam, figured out what was happening and he chased away the stalker when she was young. Adam didn't explain what happened, because he didn't want to scare his sister. So now May thinks Elliot is a long lost childhood friend, and she really needs friends.
She welcomes him back into her life.
Tumblr media
Elliot is a great actor. He's overjoyed because Adam died. Surprisingly he is not the one who killed Adam. Adams's tragic death just gave the yandere permission to hunt again. He cries for May and tells her he'll never leave her again. He brings cake and he acts cute around her. His personality is completely fake.
Tumblr media
They hang out. He is polite and wonderful. She's happy as she can be after experiencing a tragic loss, but Elliot moves too fast. He thinks he is smart but he's too eager. He starts showing up at her workplace. He meets her coincidentally about five times. He's everywhere. May can't get a moment alone, because he always shows up.
Tumblr media
She becomes suspicious when he starts talking about his books. They're all insane love poem based novels about kidnapping women. Red flag. Especially since someone recently broke into her apartment.
He smells like cigarettes.
Her bed has started to smell of cigarettes.
Tumblr media
He's been sleeping on the floor next to her, and kissing her hair. He broke in to plant microphones in her home. His job allows him alot of freedom. So, he stalks her all day. He can't stop and now he's getting too obvious.
Tumblr media
His house is full of photos of her. Her knows everything about her. He knows things she hasn't told him yet, and he accidentally blabs about those things. I think this could get violent. Elliot was afraid of Adam, but there are no big strong men left in May's life.
Tumblr media
Her bubbly best friend is her best ally, and they don't want to fight to get rid of Elliott. The two girls plan to gather evidence to present to the cops. May is not a dumbass. She calls Nina and begs for help. Nina agrees and says she has noticed Elliot walking around. He wanders around May's neighborhood all day, in different outfits.
He got caught.
Tumblr media
Elliot blames Nina. He thinks his act is perfect. May should love him. He's the only man around her too, so he thinks she has to have feelings for him. Nina is getting in the way. May is scared because of Nina, not him. It can't be him.
This is the way he thinks.
He's rude and awful to everyone but May, and that is his real personality. He is also a coward that was too scared to challenge Adam to get to May. He's an insecure, unstable stalker who has based his career and life around toxic love. Cowardly yanderes are less common, so I don't know what he'll do next.
I hope Nina doesn't die.

It's true! I have a podcast, called Paper Cuts! The format is something I like to call Live Audiobook, where I go live, and read a book aloud to you, the audience! I then edit that down into what goes on the podcast feed.
Also, I have the book on screen during the stream AND it's in the vod, so people have a fallback to my automated captions!
We're live friday nights, generally, and specifically, this coming Friday, The 13th, is the launch of season 3 of the podcast! It's a new era for paper cuts, we're getting author permission for modern books to get air alongside the public domain classics that got us this far! I'm so excited to show off some more recently-made favorites of mine, and hopefully make some new favorites along the way, too!
Does the thought of a long backlog of episodes sound daunting to you? Don't worry about it, each time we start a new book, the episode is the title of the book, so there's plenty of places to start! We've done some of the big "english class" hits, like Dracula, The Cask of Amontillado, or The Picture of Dorian Grey, but also some weird little hidden gems I think you'll love, like The Five Jars, The Last Man, or even some issues of Astounding Stories!
Long story short, if you like audiobooks, you'll love them live, come drop by and enjoy Paper Cuts!
That's the link for when we go live!
And there's the podcast feed! (I'm also available in your podcatcher of choice, like spotify, or iTunes, for example!)

somehow, someway, the entire Roan kingdom and more comes to know of Cale’s avoidance of paper work. Some think it’s due to laziness, others… may have gotten a more extreme rendition of his fear of papercuts.
TL;DR: I read too much into that one line about how Kim Rok Soo hated papercuts.

Be careful how you handle a paper heart. As delicate as they are, if you’re careless, their sharp edges can cut you. Paper cuts are unexpected and damn, do they hurt.

Paper Cuts
Once upon a time in the whimsical land of Zanadoodle, there was a mischievous villain named Professor Papyrus. With his obsession for all things paper, he devised a diabolical plan to defeat the mighty heroes of the realm by giving them excruciatingly painful paper cuts.
Professor Papyrus was a tall and lanky fellow, always adorned in a long, flowing robe made entirely out of paper. His lair, appropriately called "The Papercraft Palace," was a towering structure made of stacked paper reams and filled with elaborate paper sculptures of his own creation.
One sunny morning, the city of Zanadoodle was buzzing with excitement as the heroes, Captain Courageous, Dazzling Dynamo, and Lady Liberty, prepared for their weekly strategy meeting at their headquarters, Hero Haven. Little did they know that Professor Papyrus had been monitoring their every move, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
As the heroes gathered around the conference table, they noticed an unusually large envelope sitting at the center. Captain Courageous, always the brave one, cautiously opened the envelope, only to be greeted by a flurry of confetti and a note that read, "Beware the sting of paper's might! Your fate lies within this fight!"
Confused but undeterred, Dazzling Dynamo picked up the note and attempted to make sense of it. Suddenly, he felt a sharp sting on his finger. "Ouch! What was that?" he exclaimed, noticing a tiny paper cut appearing before his eyes.
Just as the heroes turned their attention to Dynamo's mishap, Professor Papyrus burst into the room, twirling a paper fan in his hand with a mischievous grin on his face. "Greetings, heroes! Prepare to meet your papery demise!" he cackled.
Lady Liberty, her eyes filled with determination, raised her fists, ready to face the villain. But with a swift flick of his wrist, Professor Papyrus unleashed a flurry of razor-sharp origami birds, each armed with a tiny paper sword. The birds swarmed the heroes, meticulously aiming for their exposed skin.
Captain Courageous, ever the quick thinker, grabbed a nearby stack of parchment and started fending off the feathered onslaught. With each swipe, he sent a cascade of paper birds flying. However, as he battled the avian assault, a stray paper airplane grazed his cheek, leaving a small but stinging paper cut.
Meanwhile, Dazzling Dynamo, with his speed and agility, tried to dodge the incoming origami birds. However, the crafty Professor Papyrus had lured him into a trap. The floor beneath Dynamo's feet suddenly gave way, revealing a hidden pit filled with shredded paper. As he tumbled down, countless shreds of paper lacerated his arms and legs, leaving a trail of painful paper cuts.
Lady Liberty, witnessing her comrades in distress, tapped into her superhuman strength. She summoned gusts of wind, attempting to scatter the origami birds and create a barrier of protection for herself and her teammates. Yet, as the gusts blew, a wayward sheet of paper found its way into her palm, causing an unexpected slice.
The heroes, now covered in various sizes of paper cuts, realized the gravity of their situation. Professor Papyrus reveled in their agony, laughing uproariously as he danced amidst a flurry of floating paper scraps.
But our heroes were not ones to be defeated so easily. They rallied their spirits, igniting their inner resolve. Captain Courageous seized the moment and fashioned a makeshift paper shield, using his newfound paper-cutting expertise to retaliate. He deftly aimed a barrage of precisely folded paper projectiles at Professor Papyrus, forcing him to retreat momentarily.
As the tide of battle turned, Dazzling Dynamo channeled his energy into creating dazzling paper constructs of his own. With each flick of his wrist, intricate paper dragons and origami warriors surged forth, overwhelming Professor Papyrus with their mesmerizing beauty and razor-sharp edges.
Lady Liberty, fueled by her determination and the adrenaline of the fight, harnessed her energy to produce a glowing, ethereal armor of paper around her body. The armor acted as a barrier against further paper cuts while imbuing her strikes with a radiant force.
Together, the heroes fought valiantly, employing their newfound paper-based skills against Professor Papyrus. Eventually, they cornered him, encasing him in a massive cocoon of tightly folded paper origami animals.
Defeated and humiliated, Professor Papyrus conceded defeat, his robe of paper crumpling around him. The heroes emerged victorious, nursing their countless paper cuts but forever bonded by their hilarious battle with the peculiar villain.
And so, the tale of the villain who defeated heroes with paper cuts became the stuff of legends in Zanadoodle
Please follow me or reblog my writing. it really motivates me to write

Need something to do tonight? Try my stream!
We're taking another bold step outside the public domain on Paper Cuts tonight, this time with Marion G. Harmon's Wearing the Cape!
I absolutely loved this book from the first time I read it in high school, it's got an absolutely fascinating take on superheroes and how they'll enmesh with celebrity culture in a world not unlike the one we knew then. The series at large poses some fascinating questions about duty, legacy, and just what it means for these cities to court powerful superteams, and this first book in particular focuses on the difficulty of "coming out" into hero society.
Want to hear more? Need specifics on some of what I pointed out there? Come drop by tonight, 8pm pacific time, and I'll be reading it aloud, live!
(That's April 5th, 8pm pacific, and if you miss it, there'll be a VOD, too!)
And if you want to grab the book to read along, you can find it here:
Last but not least, if you like the sound of a live audiobook, go check out the podcast, available in your favorite podcatcher! I'd suggest looking for titles that sound interesting, I name the first episode of each book after the title!

it was kinda a low blow, a below the belt or so they say but if that's the one thing that will keep him away. i would've done the same thing over and over again. i might have been insensitive but it's the only thing i can do. the least thing i can do. staying across the line. it was always like this keeping everything by the borderline. always drawing the line. always reminding him and putting a barrier to the stupid the relationship... it's not even a relationship to begin with. it's just a something. a somewhat. a thing that we couldn't put a label. a could have been. a should have been. a would have been. something so delicate. to the point of no return that if we keep pretending and keep playing in that game. we will lose. lose in a thing that haven't even started yet. i would've lost myself in the process. maybe, i already lost myself... lost in this spiral that i don't know, we don't know.... where the destination is. one after the other the paper cuts that i have given to you became a scar that is engraved on your soul. a scar that will always hunt you wherever you go.
