The last of us show is great, I really enjoyed watching it, with one minor qualm. At the beginning of the first episode, when Sarah is in class, there is a close up of her holding a ballpoint papermate inkjoy (I would include a screenshot, but I can't be bothered to do it. Just trust me, it even says the brand.) This portion of the episode is set in 2003, despite the papermate website saying that the inkjoy line wasn't even available until 2011.

While this is a very small issue, it is something that should have been thought about by the set dressers. A Bic crystal would have been a good choice for a pen that fits in any time period, but I think they wanted to use a brightly colored pen to show Sarah's innocence or whatever. A papermate clear point pencil would have been a good option to fit the timeline (it was released in 2000) if it was a matter of product placement. EDIT: including a screenshot of the pen in question.

my pen died in the middle of taking notes and i’m very seriously considering getting dressed and going to target an hour before close to get a replacement because i feel like i can’t take notes with Anything besides this specific type of pen. papermate inkjoy gel 0.7 i need you more than want you and i want you for all time

Do you prefer to write in pen or pencil?

I’ve always written on my iPad and never thought I’d like writing by hand because it was so slow. But I bought this adorable Black Widow spiral notebook at Target when all the school supplies were out and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it. Then this one teacher comedian that I adore started going on about Flair pens, so I asked for a set for Christmas. Now I spend every planning period at work writing fanfiction in my cute little notebook with different colored Flair pens and it makes me so happy! ☺️

Ok I love that!! A fun notebook AND cute pens?! I feel like that not only does that spark joy, but gets the creativity going!

I had a Peeta Mellark spiral notebook in college that I used for an Apocalypse class for my major, I thought it was genius!

Overall, definitely a pen girl. I have the rainbow set of inkjoy ones from papermate, and I love how fun they are and how they glide!
