Give It Back! (Ft. Shen Jiu)

“I gave you all my loyalty.”

Shen Jiu snarled, feeling frustration and anger and loathing course through him like a raging river. Felt it latch onto him like chains, and drag him down into a deep abyss of hate, of regret, of absolute resentment.

“I carved my heart from my chest and gave it to you.”

He felt his breath stall in his throat, felt the blood similtaneously burn and chill in his veins, and the raggedy robes he’s in suddenly makes him feel like the impoverished slave who begged for scraps.

Shen Jiu’s eyes flared.

“How stupid of me. What use is a street rat to a lauded cultivator like yourself, Yue Qingyuan?”

He looks at him, silent and pitiful, as if he was the one who was abandoned. As if he was the one who was left to die, alone, abused- a dog’s death.

How dare he have that look on his face when he was reborn from the ashes? When he became so much greater? When he cast the past aside with such heavenly grace?

(How dare his eyes reflect Shen Jiu‘s pathetic visage, and still have the nerve to look as if it was his world that was crumbling down?)

It infuriates him.

So much.

“How dare you make that face when you were the one who threw me away!”

He raised his hand, the other one clutching his rusty, blood-soaked sword in a bone-white grip.

(He ignores the clangs of the broken metal shifting and shaking in the sword’s hilt due to his trembling hand. Ignores the sound of his world crumbling in front of him. Of his every hope and dream and wish grinding into dust beneath Yue Qingyuan’s polished boot heels.)

“Give it back!”

(Give him back all the years he wasted mourning for you.

Give him back all the tears he cried, the blood he spilled, and all the loyalty he gave you.)

“Give it back.”

(You don’t need it, nor want it. What use does a phoenix have for a street rat’s everything?)

Nothing.

(No wonder you were abandoned.)

Favorite books: Lately I haven’t been reading quite much. My favourite ones are from the Portuguese writer who was a Nobel Prize, José Saramago: “As Intermitências da Morte” (translated as “Death with Interruptions” or “Death at Intervals”), “Todos os Nomes” ( “All the Names”) and “Ensaio sobre a Lucidez” (”Seeing”). I also love the “Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and “O Gato Malhado e a Andorinha Sinhá” by Jorge Amado (roughly translated as The tabby cat and the swallow sinha)

Last song I listened to: Probably “Great Days” by Karen Aoki and Daisuke Hasegawa (I love the song and besides I was only listening to music I had saved in my phone.

Last film I watched: If I had done this in time I would have answered “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” but in the meanwhile I watched “Joker” and it was amazing.

Things I love: not things, but my close family (including pets, of course), I love food, large clothes, art, music, spontaneous (good) surprises, cute things and everything that gets me thinking (texts, series, movies, anime, manga, games). Regarding games in particular, I love Zero Escape Series, Danganronpa, Ace Attorney and Professor Layton, lately, Catherine too.

What brings me peace: my pets, music, quiet but not dangerous places, gardens, walks, sleep, creating things (drawings, crafts, etc)

Meaning behind my URL: a reference from Serial Experiments Lain: wired referring to the online worl + ligado which is connected in Portuguese, referring to the fact that we are all connected.

About the tags, I don’t know the majority of people I am tagging, so feel free to do it or not. When I started this account I only knew two friends and they barely use it nowadays.

Found this accidentally, thanks to youtube, it's very nice. There is a charm to some songs I think where you can't understand all the lyrics but it still tells you something. This is like that for me.

I love the Miyazaki movies, Princess Mononoke is not my favorite but an awesome piece. I didn't notice how much I loved this song while watching it, only afterwards. It's motivational, such a great feeling to listen to when I get insecure about the animation stuff I do, it kinda shows me the way at times.
