Ghastly paramour

"Those four are unbearable. Every time they show up, they act as if they own the place," a figure draped in maroon said while taking a puff from their smoking pipe. "You only say that because they are the favorites of the bosses. Don't be angry, Chisuke," Ichor said, chuckling softly as he looked at Chisuke. Chisuke snorted and shook their head. "That's not true. I'm saying that because they are irresponsible," Chisuke replied with a hint of annoyance. When the four subordinates in question walked past, the group looked at Chisuke in confusion as the person they were talking to was no longer there. The group of teenagers whispered amongst themselves as they passed by.

Chisuke glared at the teens, frowning. They then turned to Ichor, "Why did you choose that silly mission? Out of everything, why did you pick that one?" Chisuke asked with a worried expression. "I did it to impress you. I wanted to show you that I could handle the big leagues," Ichor replied, cupping Chisuke's face and smiling softly. He then vanished into a thin mist. "Ignorant fool... there was no need to demonstrate anything," Chisuke muttered as they took another puff of their smoking pipe. They exhaled the smoke which took the form of a heart before someone swatted it away, apparently trying to get Chisuke's attention. "Chi, snap out of it!" Alice said, looking into Chisuke's eyes. "Ichor is gone, Chisuke. Stop acting like he's still here, you know he isn't coming back." Alice wafted the red smoke away from her face and looked disappointed in Chisuke for holding onto Ichor. "He... He isn't gone, Alice. I know he isn't," Chisuke replied. "He is! Just please forget him," Alice pleaded.

Chisuke's life was completely turned upside down when Ichor's mission partner returned and announced that he had died. The news shattered Chisuke's world and made them feel as if nothing would ever be the same again. Despite this, every time Chisuke closed their eyes to sleep, they would see Ichor's face. Ichor would talk and spend time with them as if nothing had truly happened. Chisuke hated waking up to find that everything was just a dream.

monthly hormones are affecting my head - daily notes, march 22, 2024

I'm a little light-headed from running around just a bit ago, and still feeling woozy as I'm sitting down. Just little pulses of blood rushing away from my head, like a wave receding.

And then I started to feel my blood pulse in my lips. It gathers there with pressure, then fades back, like a ghostly kiss. It reminds me of how my head felt blank when I was last kissed.

Seriously, I felt a wave of being loved with that pulsing - being cherished, being treasured - with such delicacy, I could only be touched by a spirit.

"You are good right where you are. You don't need to do anything more," this ghost says, with another kiss on my forehead.

Spock-brain says it's my mind playing tricks on me, but my romantic heart says it's signals someone's heart is feeling right now, that are getting sent my way. Or, y'know, wishful poetic thinking

So uh, now there's a chance my future paramour could be a paranormal-mour - a paramour-mal, if you will.

Debbie is a cheery and sincere vampiress who spends her days writing romantic narratives for her faithful readers. In her free time, she navigates San Myshuno to tour the art museums and participate in some Karaoke events. Despite her sweet and mild demeanor, she led an extravagant flapper lifestyle in her past that left her with some esteem and trust issues. It took her decades to work on herself to hopefully find someone kind and dependable to match up with in this romantic experiment.

◈Background◈

In her youth, Deborah Hoppkins was the wild middle child of a low-income human family. She developed into the typical teenage runaway tha sought to experience the roaring 20’s at her own leisure. Partying was all she was known for and what got her mixed up with messy company. As a way to fund her lifestyle, she became a small-time jazz singer. Now going by “Debbie Davis’, she sang at any dingy club that would accept her.

After a successful performance at a nightclub, she attracted the attention of a rather dark looking group of vamps in the audience. Being drawn in by either the devilish taste for danger or paranormal allure, she quickly fell into their circle. First as a curious observer, then as a willing blood donor. One of her vampiric paramours, Lucinda, was able to sway her into converting her into a vampire with sweet whispers. Which started her long rocky relationship with Lucinda. 

After the chaos of having to deal with vampiric melodramatic love dynamics, Debbie slowed down on her night time shenanigans. Parties and dancing can only take you so far if you yearned for more. Soon she found a new passion, which was writing. The lulls between gatherings were always accompanied by books, so it was not a stretch for her to want to write them. Started off writing for pulp magazines, to eventually full length romantic novels.

When she earned enough, Debbie settled down in her current high rise apartment in San Myshuno. She spends her time writing romantic epics with some free time at the Karaoke Bars. She started to find her own true identity and self away from being the aimless good-time girl for others. Finding herself to be almost content with her life.

Five years ago, she was reached out to by a young lady while Debbie was on her way for her weekly plasma fruit restock at the local farmer’s market. It turned out that the young woman was her great-great niece who came all the way from Windenburg. She managed to reconnect with her descendants, often visiting during holidays with the occasional video call if her deadlines don't swamp her. As she spends time with her family and sees how all her nieces and nephews have formed families and healthy relationships, the more she realizes how much she yearned for the same. She can only fill that void in herself for so long through writing romances.

◈Relationships◈

Soon after leaving home, Debbie was briefly married to an older man but separated a year later when he wanted a more traditional homebody type. For him, it was more of a passionate affair that cooled off quickly. Only after that did she find out that he was already married in another city with children as well. She kept his last name, Davis, since she loved the alliteration. Thanks to the lively atmosphere of the party scene, Debbie was able to explore her sexuality. She was able to see that her connection with women could be beyond platonic. Even if it still had to be kept in the backrooms. From time to time, she still found some connections with men too. Most of those relationships were more situationships than full relationships that she hoped for. Her next serious relationship was with Lucinda. Lucinda was a big personality, which Debbie truly admired. Big personalities also lead to big problems. In the end, Debbie realized that this abusive relationship had no hope of improvement, despite her efforts to overlook and work on Lucinda's faults. Her other relationships between Lucinda’s breaks and right after were just as messy and complicated. The expectations of being a party girl didn’t set her up for a suitable choice for relationships in others' eyes. It was only when she pulled herself from her old group’s sphere of influence did she get a break from that reputation. In her current life in San Myshuno, there have been the occasional date or so but it's hard to keep up with shifting dating styles and expectations.

Due to all her wild experiences and romantic outlook on life, Debbie took on writing as her next pursuit. She has written many romantic series in the past decades. Some of which are inspired by her passionate and chaotic love life as a young woman and a fledgling. The leads enter into dramatically messy couplings and love polygons. Although, her most recent works have the leads heading for more stable love lives, but with enough intrigue to keep her readers hooked. 

Her eyes are now set on establishing her own book publishing house to cater to those interested in all things romantic and dramatic. Currently in the process of finding and buying back the licenses to her whole catalog of books..

I have taken Roe’s advice to heart. I told Juniper about his advice and she had a solution to carrying bells around. It would take her a day but it would be well worth the wait. I will have to return tomorrow to see what she it is she has in mind.

Paranormal Investigation log #12:

I placed a mirror, a small disk really, on the porch and it seems to be working.

Our “anomaly” has been quietly admiring himself for the past thirty minutes or so. He left once, so that potentially rules out devil as a possible origin, however it was only to go and retrieve Sledge so some odd reason. I heard murmurs about his eyes. Something about, “Are they looking a little yellow?”

An eye change? And Sledge knows? Perhaps our “anomaly” can alter his appearance? That could explain many things. I will have to investigate further.

These are all points in the: “they know” territory. I will have to tread carefully. While he is distracted I am going to attempt to talk to his other Paramours. I have a good rapport with Lewis so perhaps it will yield the results I am after.

Potential abilities:

Cloaking: perhaps that is how no one knows where my boys are?

The following is an excerpt from the files of a local paranormal investigator whose name has been redacted for their protection

Date: September 22nd, 2023

Name/Aliases: Olympia, Your/Her Highness

Description: A tall, voluptuous drag queen who has honed her craft well over the past 40+ years, Olympia is a strong presence in the Cincinnati drag scene. It is not known when exactly she was "embraced", but evidence seems to point to her being active in other drag scenes as far back as the 1960's in pre-Stonewall New York City. There are also reports of her performing in San Francisco in the 1970's. How she arrived in Cincinnati is currently unknown. After sometime becoming better acquainted with her, she did mention a former paramour, "Pat", who it was alluded had died but I was unable to gather additional information due to a strong emotional response.

Recommendation: At this time, Olympia shows no potential of posing a public threat. She is a phenomenal source of information for matters of vampiric culture, so it is best to keep an amicable relationship at this time.

Completed novelette. 13 chapters, 10.8k words and my only finished story, discounting a cringe 8 chapter short story I wrote when I was 12. Am I proud of this? It's not my magnum opus, that's for sure. I wrote this in 2 months. However, I'm happy that I finished a story and hope to write many more in future.

Summary:

Shadowed by a civilian woman who knows of his profession and yet doesn't care, the assassin for hire known as "The Raven" can't help but act more human.

When the woman, Hannah, worms her way deeper and deeper into the wretched life he lives, The Raven wishes that he was strong enough to turn her away. But his infatuation and her damned persistence won't let him.

As the two spiral deeper down a path of no return, The Raven has to wonder, “Who’s ruin will this lead to?”

His own? Or Hannah’s?

This is only significant because there's a curse on him that causes him to always be cold and will eventually freeze him to death. The only thing that can stave it off is human contact but his family want him to die so he's forbidden from being touched. Otherwise, this is just him having a pity party.

I really wanted to share the newer piece a wrote for this WIP (A Pane-ful Scene) because I love it so much but I think I should keep it in my pocket cuz I might actually use it.

Scream Factory has revealed the specs for its My Demon Lover Blu-ray, which releases on September 5 via Scream Factory. The 1987 horror-comedy stars Scott Valentine and Michele Little.

Charlie Loventhal directs from a script by Leslie Ray (The Wayans Bros.). Robert Trebor, Gina Gallego, Alan Fudge, Calvert DeForest, and Arnold Johnson round out the cast.

Dpr Ian and my favorite indie author

Hey and please don't bash me on here. I have a favorite indie author who has been on Wattpad and so on for a few years, she now has an eBook out and published her book. It's called mine and I couldn't help but feel like her book goes with DPR Ian's album mood swings into order,' Sabrina isn't as popular but she does have a steady fan base, I really hope to see her make it big. And I would really love to see Ian and Sabrina create a story together. In her book, she talks about mental illnesses and her anxiety, and Ian talks about his own (bipolar disorder through his music.) I was reading and listening to his album in the background and HOLY SH*T I felt like I was watching a movie with a badas* soundtrack. Can we hype this up? Seriously, I love them both. She deserves the hype. She is a paranormal, horror romance writer, and one day everyone will know her name.

In her book and in his album they both talk about a fallen angel, and tell a fantastic story about it.

Just saying they share similarities and would be awesome if they worked together. If you give her book a chance, definitely listen to his album while reading her book. They are both most likely in a relationship, so I won't ship them. But can't go wrong with Indian girls and Korean guys hehe.
