Would you do hc's for bay Hound, bee, hotrod, and mtmte tailgate and rung. For what two Halloween movies they would watch with a friend, ranging from not so scary to super scary horror. For example what's a not so scary family friendly yet spooky movie they would watch. And what's a very horror/slasher/bloody movie They would watch. And what's their limit on scary?
Hound:
He doesn't have a limit on scary. He'll watch anything. He doesn't really get scared by anything, especially not human horror films because he knows they are all fake.
He jumps right into the horrors by watching The Exorcist. And he is completely unaffected by it.
His friend however was. So now he'll sit and watch Nightmare before Christmas, so his friend can call down. He doesn't mind though, he thinks it's an entertaining film.
Hot Rod:
Hot Rod and his friend start off watching Paranorman. He thinks it's quite a fun movie. He likes the animation and the story. Afterwards his friend suggests a scarier movie.
He asks if they are sure, he has no problem watching scarier, but he doesn't want his friend to have nightmares. They settle on The Thing.
Hot Rod dislikes it. He dislikes the idea of a horrible creature coming out of the ice. He hates the idea that it takes the form of humans then turns into a disgusting monster.
He wants to cling to his friend. But he also wants space from them, fear that they could actually be a monster in disguise. It takes him a couple days after the film to stop thinking all his friends could be a monster in disguise.
He has now decided he does not like horror films and is quite happy not watching them.
Bumblebee:
They start out watching Hocus Pocus. Bee enjoys it, he thinks it's quite fun. He's watched a few films with Sam and he's never really been scared before.
So he decided to go up and level. He and his friend watch paranormal activity.
He hates it!! He hates the idea of ghosts, invisible entities that can't be seen or touched but they can hurt you? No he's not interested in that. He is not interested in watching any more ghost films.
His friend does suggest Casper. But Bee refuses. No more ghosts, it's a terrifying idea.
Tailgate:
He thought he could handle scary films no problem, so he wanted to start out with the scariest. But his friend suggested they start off small.
They watch Gremlins, and he somewhat enjoyed it. He thought Gizmo was cute. The other gremlins were a bit ugly but he enjoyed the film. So he excitedly states they should watch the scary one, because obviously he is fine with scary films.
They end up watching The Conjuring. And oh he was wrong. He refuses to turn the lights off, and will not let go of his friend. He's terrified if he lets go they are going to get possessed they go around hunting him. He can't deal with the idea of an evil spirit being inside his friend.
This was his lesson, and he'll NEVER watch horror films again.
Rung:
He is intrigued that humans watch scary films for enjoyment. He doesn't quite know why being scared is enjoyable, but he's willing to give it a go for his friend.
They start of with the least scary to test the water. His friend picks out Monster House. Seeing as it's an animated film, Rung knows it's obviously fake. He enjoys it. He thinks it's quite a happy ending, and he says he would watch it again.
Next up was a really scary movie. They decided on Scream.
Rung spent the entire movie, trying to analyze and diagnose the killer. He wondered why humans would want to become murderers and why they wear a mask. He understands why humans would find it scary. Unlike monsters or aliens, murderers actually exist and could happen. So he rates it as a successful scary movie, just because it could be realistic. Although he was not personally scared by it, he will say it is a good enough movie to scare other people.

question but are there any horror charas u hc as autistic and if so which ones? just thought itd be an interesting question
Oh my god, this might be the greatest question I've ever been asked!!!! Thank you!!! There's definitely a few:
Randy Meeks from Scream is absolutely autistic to me. Bringing up horror movies and their rules so often is something I have done on multiple occasions too. So he's just like me and we're both autistic and love horror movies!
When I was rewatching the first Scream, I also thought Dewey has some autistic swag. But I definitely feel a lot stronger about Randy being autistic.
Herbert West from Reanimator. This one feels almost canon to me. The movies definitely portray him with a lot of autistic traits!
Carrie. Killing everyone in the room with powers is exactly what I feel like doing after a big social event irl. Okay, obviously a lot of her character is more connected with how overly religious and abusive her mother is and not autism. So it's not like the strongest hc, but still there for me
It's been a very long time since I've watched May and I definitely need to rewatch it, but from what I remember she's quite autistic too.
Pearl! 100% autistic to me. I can't even really explain it fully, but when I watched Pearl it was just there. She's autistic!
The Loneliest Boy in the World is like barely a horror movie, but Oliver is autistic.
I also remember having a hc that Theo from The Haunting of Hill House show is autistic. Autistic and a lesbian - just like me fr! (I'm definitely just projecting)
Speaking of autistic lesbians, Amanda Young. (I'm projecting again). I feel like no one in the Saw franchise is neurotypical tbh. (Maybe Logan, but that's just because I don't like him)
Also not technically a horror movie, but Norman from Paranorman is autistic (if you haven't seen Paranorman, highly recommend it. It's a kids movie, but it's like horror for kids. It's a great movie!)
Those are like the main ones I have. Would love to hear if you have any! Also I should probably send you horror asks more often.
Thank you again for the question!!!!!

Lanternfam’s favorite scary/Halloween movies:
with help by the lovely @space-specs
Hal- Rocky Horror Picture Show (he has a Dr Frank-N-Furter costume somewhere in his closet that he plans to wear for some League Halloween party)(specs and i are hardcore projecting genderfluid Hal hcs onto this)(he also knows how to dance the Time Warp)
Guy- Halloween (he is mad about the reboot and how the lighting has made the movie kinda worse. like he has no problem with the fact that they're making the new movie, and he isn't into how movies are really directed in any way, but even he is mad about the lighting)
John- Beetlejuice (it's a classic and Michael Keaton and the rest of the all-star cast do so well in it. he is also a fan of the musical)
Kyle- Coraline (the art style is so good and he definitely was terrified of it until he watched it and then he was fine with it. he definitely uses it to scare the senior lanterns tho)(dude it fucked me up. he'd be all over that -ketchup)
Jess- Casper (she liked it as a kid because it was about a connection that she wanted when she was younger that she didn't really have. plus it's a really sweet movie)(note: neither of us have seen it)
Simon- Paranorman (it's a good movie about seeing the truth of people, more than just what you see on the outside or in your expectations about them. and the art style is really unique and good and yeah. vibes, man)
Jo- Train to Busan (it's got a lot of complex messages in it and yeah. zombie apocalypse movies scary)
Keli- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (it fits. no i will not elaborate. -ketchup)
Alan- Young Frankenstein ("it has Gene Wilder in it, and gay people like Gene Wilder, right? i mean, i'm gay, and i like Gene Wilder. Gene Wilder is for the gays and i said so" -specs)(let the record state that ketchup also loves this movie and also really freaking loves Alan Scott and approves wholeheartedly)
Carol- Hocus Pocus (she dressed up as one of the Sanderson Sisters for Halloween last year)("she is a Sanderson sisters fan, and i mean in the bisexual way" -specs)
Kilowog- Little Shop of Horrors (he would get a kick out of the giant man-eating plant and the protagonist just being a little guy(tm))(plus the songs are really catchy and when Hal and Guy showed it to him, both of them were singing and quoting along, so its a movie that holds a special place in his heart)
Razer- Addams Family Values (he appreciates Wednesday's homicidal tendencies a lot. also his family is a little kooky, and the Addams family is a little kooky and crazy and he likes it)("...so basically, what i’m saying, is that Razer is a Wednesday Addams kinnie" -specs)
Thaal- The Blair Witch Project (he fell victim to its trappings and he thinks that it's real. he keeps trying to convince Hal to go ghost hunting with him. Hal keeps refusing and telling him that ghosts probably don't exist but Thaal refuses to listen.)
B'dg- Over The Hedge (the Verminator is scary.)
Helen- Halloweentown ("its the closest Disney gets to weirdgirl-core, and that’s her vibe" -specs)("yes Helen is not a lantern but she IS in the lanternfam and deserves to be. fite me" -ketchup)

paranorman hcs and and and.....???? idk just shit bro just shit!!!!!mostly pre-movie plot or sumn idk
-Normans mother used to have the same ability but it transferred to him (uncle prenderghast never procreated so he kept his lol)
-neils parents are usually at work so hes a free spirit most of the time besides braindead babysitting from mitch. hence why hes usually able to get away with just wandering about
-norman has schizophrenia lol. doesnt downplay his abilities tho, hes still a medium. but his hallucinations tend to based off stuff hes used to seeing (or demons) and his delusions tend to be religious or demonic issues.he was unmedicated for a long time because his parents always fought about it. (mother said maybe they shud get him checked out, father didnt want him labeled as a "nutcase" because it would be an embarrassment) until he probably accidentally hurt himself in the process of an episode.
-also anxiety
-courtney is in volleyball, cheer, and gymnastics and shes pretty good at them.
-normans grandma is his main caretaker since he tries to avoid his parents because almost everytime hes near the both of them they end up arguing and hed rather just exclude himself. she cares for him deeply and tries her best to take care of him from beyond the grave
-alvin flunked. like hes in some of normans classes caus he straight up failed like two grades 💀
-salma and neil are actually really good friends and occasionally hang out together. shes still iffy abt neil tryna squeeze norman into their activities every once n a while and norman just feels awkward about it.
-Neil just wants his two best friends to also be friends but salma is super on edge abt it and normans just quiet and awkward and feels bad for "annoying" her
-neil has dyslexia and or adhd. idk where this came from it just feels real bro 😭😭
*- adding to the adhd thing, first time he mentions it to norman is by trying to make him feel less like a freak for also having to take medication. it kinda works
idk ill add more im just insane rn

Paranorman is just a metaphor for a boy who’s not neurotypical, befriending another girl whos autistic, and both going through meltdowns and episodes that finally get their community’s attention until they get a diagnosis and gain acceptance of their identity. Thank you and good night

Andi Mack ~ October 1st traditions / hcs
Tumblr media
▪️Its tradition for the GHC to stay up until it's exactly 12am, October 1st
▪️Cyrus is usually full of energy drinks. He tries his absolute best but if he falls asleep before 12am, they'll usually wake him up at 11:58 so he doesn't miss it
▪️They alternate which house they spend the night at each year
▪️Currently it's Andi's turn; Bex and Bowie had a date night so they're spending it at Cece's
🍁
▪️This time around they invited the Dumbass Trio + Amber to bring in October with them
▪️Since they added to their tradition this year, the four newcomers were each told to bring over their favorite Halloween movie:
Amber: Fun Size
TJ: Paranorman
Jonah: Poltergeist
Marty: Nightmare on Elm Street
🍁
▪️It's mandatory to wear Halloween themed pajamas! (bonus points if your socks are halloween themed as well)
🍁
▪️While they waited for the clock to hit 12, they baked several different kinds of muffins and cupcakes. (Honestly though, what's the difference between muffins and cupcakes?? Please be nice, keep in mind there are no stupid questions...just me being stupid :)
▪️Marty and Buffy thought it should become a competition to see who could decorate muffins/cupcakes the best.
▪️ It's currently the GHC vs The Dumbass Trio (Amber eagerly opts to be the judge - mainly to watch the chaos unfold in peace. She decorates a few of her own)
▪️As u can imagine, the dumbass trio absolutely destroys the kitchen... Marty and TJ get in an icing fight at one point. Jonah doesn't take part in it but is a casualty as a result anyways. He panics when TJ went to throw sprinkles at Marty and it ended up in his eye. Buffy drags Jonah out of the kitchen to flush his eye and throws a playful "dumbass" over her shoulder as she walks past TJ and Marty.
▪️Cece walks into the kitchen at one point (Marty in mid icing throw) and everyone freezes/the room goes dead silent. For a good thirty seconds she stands in the door way, face unreadable, everyone's holding their breath. Just as Andi expects Cece to kick everyone out she begins apologizing, Cece simply walks over to the counter and stops at Amber and points at her plate of cupcakes. Although very unsettled, Amber gets the hint, nods and quickly pushes the plate towards Cece. She takes two cupcakes, gives Amber a pat on the shoulder and a smile. She continues to head towards the fridge, pours herself a glass of milk and just as she's at the archway she turns around, takes in the scene once more, shrugs and leaves with a "Make sure to clean it up". Everyone let out a relieved sigh and continued working (TJ and Marty calmed down).
▪️Ofc the GHC wins thanks to Andi, plus the dumbass trio (minus a wounded Jonah) kind of self sabotaged any chance they had
🍁
▪️Painting your nails black and orange (+white) is apart of their yearly tradition, meaning everyone gets their nails painted
▪️Buffy and Marty ofc make it a competition to see who can do the best nail art (with a twist, which is that they're painting each other's nails)
▪️Marty tries, he really does…but the nail polish ends up all over Buffy's fingers and instead of a pumpkin, Buffy's gets a swirl / excessive amount of black and orange nail polish on every other finger
▪️Meaning Buffy wins; although Marty likes to argue that he's really the winner because he ended up with nearly perfect candy corns / ghosts on his nails, while all she got was the bottle of nail polish remover
▪️The rest of the group didn't take part in the competition, but TJ does end up painting Cyrus' nails for him. (He's had enough practice over the years with Amber forcing him to do hers and is shockingly good at painting them)
▪️TJ also ends up doing Jonah's right hand (aka Jonah got frustrated halfway through - his left hand is a mess and he begged TJ to take over)
▪️ Amber overhears Cyrus and Jonah comparing nails / complimenting TJ and she screams "You're welcome, Thel" from across the room
▪️TJs stomach drops, Cyrus goes silent, and Jonah responds with, "Thel?". After shooting Amber a glare he lies and tells Jonah that Thel is apart of their twin language / it's another word for brother. Jonah thankfully buys it with a shrug and a smile
🍁
▪️TJ, Cyrus, Amber, and Andi end up on the floor making bracelets throughout one of the movies.
▪️Cyrus gets halfway through his second bracelet when he suddenly lays his head on TJs lap with a, "I'm just resting my eyes for a second". (TJ and Andi both immediately make eye contact and share a knowing look)
▪️Cyrus ends up completely knocked out within 5 minutes.
▪️At some point TJ stopped making bracelets and just ran his fingers through Cyrus' hair / continued to watch Marty's pick of movie (Andi and Amber speak through facial expressions and Amber sneaks a video of TJ/Cyrus).
▪️When TJ can no longer power through the pins and needles coursing through his legs and feet he asks Marty and Jonah to carry Cyrus to the couch.
▪️The two may or may not had nearly dropped Cyrus on their way to the couch…
(just imagine TJ and Buffy teaming up to yell at them if they had dropped him - also sidenote but I could definitely see Cyrus still remaining dead asleep and unbothered only to wake up hours later like, "when the hell did I get this bruise?!?")
🍁
▪️Part of the tradition is to switch to something light regarding movies/shows (they usually turn towards Halloween themed cartoon episodes)
▪️So about halfway through the night they switch to: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
🍁
▪️Buffy and Marty face off for the last time that night regarding who falls asleep first
▪️At last, Marty finally wins at something. He takes a quick photo of Buffy sleeping, and sent it to her along with a, "better luck next year 👻". Then he passes out
🍁
▪️Jonah fell asleep at some point while on a video call with Walker. Andi took his phone and showed Walker the bracelets they made / introduced him to Amber. They talked for around 10-15 minutes.
🍂
▪️Amber and Andi end up being the last two awake and they spend the rest of the night in Andi Shack eating cupcakes and talking / freaking themselves out with conspiracy and true crime videos.

WBW: Mediums
This hc actually came from an idea for a paraplasm au (paranorman / dp crossover). Basically I wanted to explain how a medium - normally the only ones who can see/communicate with ghosts would fit in a place where Everyone sees them. I mean they’re EVERYWHERE & they manifest physically (see ghost hunger theory)…so what would make a medium different from anyone else in Amity? Well my theory is that they’re much more sensitive to ectoplasm than other humans. It’s (usually) because of a recessive hereditary gene from…something not human (fae, ect way back when).
That’s why -in places NOT saturated with ectoplasm bc of a constantly open portal-they can see ghosts where others can’t. But it doesn’t stop at just being able to see & communicate with ghosts. Mediums are in tuned with ectoplasm, some so much so they they’re able to influence ghosts behavior. They have a calming effect on them & are able to talk easily to ghosts that would normally be hostile ( like Ember or Skulker). It’s why they can sometimes ‘put them to rest’ convince them to move on. Just o clarify; that doesn't mean mediums have ghost powers. No ectoblasts, no intangibility, no floating (ok mayyybe a little bit of floating). Mediums can't manipulate ectoplasm directly, just a ghosts behavior. However, they may have...other powers. The more powerful mediums can even control ghosts. Or exorcise them (force them to move on…either to the Ghost Zone or by tearing apart their ghostly core…) Of course, the more powerful the ghost, the harder that is to do. So what else do we know that can control ghosts? Freakshow’s staff. It was able to control ghosts bc it held the soul of a medium…

BUMBLEBEE Standalone Movie Director Announced
The Bumblebee movie has found its director in Travis Knight, the director of this year’s Oscar-nominated Kubo And The Two Strings, will helm the 2018 release. An animator by trade, Kubo was Knight’s first directorial work, but he does have movies like Paranorman, Boxtrolls, and Coraline under his belt. We’ll ask if any of the hosts have seen this movie, and if we even know who this guys it. Also, what does it mean to have an animator as the director of a Transformers film?

The Other Thing
On this week’s The Other Thing segment the co-hosts all watched the very first episode of M.A.S.K. M.A.S.K., an acronym for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand, was produced by the French-American DIC Enterprises, Inc and Kenner. It was based on the action figures, and was rolled into Hasbro proper in 2000 when Kenner was closed. M.A.S.K. is a special task force featuring an array of characters, led by Matt Trakker, with transforming vehicles engaged in an ongoing battle against the criminal organization V.E.N.O.M. (an acronym for Vicious Evil Network Of Mayhem), with an emphasis on super-powered masks worn by the characters on the show. It was basically a hybrid of G.I. Joe and Transformers, borrowing only the best parts, with a bit of its own flair too. In the series’ first episode, The Deathstone, V.E.N.O.M. steals a strange meteorite with healing powers using Switchblade disguised as a UFO. We review the episode, and discuss the merits of this 1985 hit.
