Horror movie! 🍿Apparently I missed 2 in 1 ad 😂 Buy 1 animal, get second for free. That white thing inside - a horsehair worm. It parasitizes on invertebrates. (big exhale, we are in the clear). .

Horsehair worms, that have land invertebrates as their hosts, are puppeteers. They infect the brain. This causes the host insect to seek water and drown itself, thus returning the nematomorph to water. If the host is eaten by larger predator, the worm does not mind much. It is able to wiggle out of the predator. .

Fascinating and awful, right? 😜 .

my wife:

my wife:

me: that one scene in parasite where Ki-jung asks if Da-song experienced something in the first grade and the camera immediately breaks the 180 degree rule is a clear symbolic movement meant to convey that ki-jung has “crossed the line,” i.e. the line between the rich and the poor but she’s not moving in frame, the entire frame moves around HER, which means she’s not the unruly help, she’s now someone that the Parks trust and respect because of her insight and literally represents a turning point in the film that plants the “ghost in the house” element of the script and also narratively speaking allows the rest of the kims to get into the house

my wife: can we just have one single plate of spaghetti without you mentioning parasite, i swear i play second fiddle to that fucking joon-ho guy

me: FOUR oscars AND the palme d’or

i had written this as homework before, but I think it fits the topic, so I went through it again and decided to post it here.

In Germany, every student starting from grade one learns English. And even more and more countries start the same in their schools. Nowadays it is not uncommon for someone to be able to speak English, it is more uncommon if someone can’t.

The world is connected in every single way imaginable. Environment, culture, politics, business and of course: language. And the language that connects us all is English (maybe, very soon, joined by Chinese). Till now, there’s nothing to say against the fact that English is the global language. It only has benefits. Hasn’t it? Or is there maybe a shadow side to all the light?

Let’s take a look at how the importance of the English language affects our society and world.

Context to this is just that basically flowey manages to get enough determination to go back to when Chara was supposed to die and take back to the present with him. The issue with that is that it made Chara’s soul unstable so Flowey had to sacrifice true Asriel’s soul in order to save them. However in order to keep this together Chara has to act as flowey “host”.

I don’t really like this drawing, but here it is

what was your favorite movie of 2019?

Hi Anon!

Man, it’s good to be able to answer questions again!

While I’m sure a ton of people have said it, Parasite was easily my favorite film to come out in 2019 and it easily deserved all the awards it received.

A spoiler-free review: I found the tone so strange (it flips suddenly in the second half but in the best way) and found myself laughing as easily as I was hiding my face in shock. There’s one moment (a single shot) in particular that will haunt my dreams, but it still made me laugh out of unease and the sheer ridiculousness of the shot.

The characters were absolutely fascinating in their flaws. Although it was clearly a satire with very obvious social and political undertones, I loved how I wholeheartedly could laugh at, feel bad for, or even be angry with ALL of the characters, protagonists and antagonists alike. The acting was superb as well, which was one of the reasons these characters came to life so vividly for me.
