It was an interesting Valentine Day's SRH Cocktail edition, with the Soixante-Quinze:
A simple, but effective gin concoction, invented in Paris during WWI. Perhaps also a homage of sorts to the legendary bartender who devised it, Harry MacElhone, born in Dundee, in 1890.
As a staunch and discerning champagne drinker, I was waiting for his choice. Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial, Bonaparte's favorite, is probably the best he could pick for a cocktail (with Mumm Cordon Rouge a very close second - but let's not nitpick, here).
As is, though, Moët & Chandon is also the M in LVMH, the luxury French behemoth I have already written about, here: https://www.tumblr.com/sgiandubh/729801825900953600/city-of-lights
And please, don't answer with 'it was a random pick'. He could have chosen anything else from a huge, nuanced available range: Veuve Clicquot to the up and raising Nicolas Feuillatte to any good prosecco out there (for a more budget-friendly choice).
It's always the ones who know nothing being the loudest of the lot.
