// TRIGGER WARNING - hospitalization
i know that there are many, many different disabilities that manifest in unique ways, but i think the worst sensation i had while i was in a psych ward + in the partial hospitalization program was that i felt like i was still the "crazy" one in places that were supposed to make me feel less alone.

dissertation proposal defense: summer 2023
I intended for it to be this spring semester 2023, but unfortunately I'm going to be participating in a multi-week partial hospitalization program for mental health (it's outpatient but every single day for hours!) and between that and the paper due in May I just don't have the time to fully dedicate to the proposal
my husband and I also just bought a real fixer of a fixer-upper which has been WILD but also REALLY taking my brain away from my work
anyways sorry for the ramble I just needed to get that out of my system thanks babes

Partial Hospitalization Program by Southeast Addiction Center TN
PHP treatment can help people to overcome addiction without having to stay in a rehab center full-time. If you struggle with addiction, this might be the type of treatment that works best for you. If you want to know – what is a partial hospitalization program? – before you begin treatment, we can discuss the details with you.
What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?
When finding the right addiction treatment program, there are many options that you will come across. One of those options is called PHP treatment or partial hospitalization program. Congress defines PHP treatment as an outpatient treatment program designed for diagnosing and treating serious mental health disorders. PHP treatment will diagnose and treat these disorders when there are reasonable expectations the person will improve their lifestyle after attending the program. If you want to turn your life around, reach out to our Nashville admissions coordinators and talk to them about partial hospitalization today.
Treatment That’s Affordable and Effective
There are millions of people who struggle with addiction. However,  people may find that inpatient treatment programs are more than they can afford. In these cases, professionals recommend that people enter PHP treatment or partial hospitalization. If you attend the PHP program at our Southeast Addiction Center, this will cost you much less than the typical inpatient treatment program. This automatically removes one of the biggest barriers that people face when trying to get clean and sober.
Getting a Structured Recovery Program
If you have an addiction to drugs or alcohol, PHP treatment is likely to help you overcome it. One of the best benefits of this type of treatment is that you will have a structured recovery program. While you won’t live full-time in the treatment center, you will have a treatment schedule that you need to abide by. Our treatment coordinators will discuss the details of this schedule with you. We will also help to ensure you have the most success from your PHP treatment program.
Beautiful, Relaxing Environment for Recovery
Many people think of an addiction treatment center and think of darkness and things being uncomfortable. However, that is not how we have our Southeast Addiction Center set up. When enrolling in our PHP treatment, you will have a beautiful environment that promotes relaxation and recovery. This way, you can overcome obstacles and move into a recovering lifestyle.
Sleeping in Your Bed While Getting the Help You Need
Many people don’t want to go to addiction treatment centers because they would rather live at home. They may be nervous about leaving their home. If you don’t want to leave your home while receiving PHP treatment, you don’t have to. Our PHP treatment program allows you to receive intense treatment in our facility, but you get to sleep at your own house.

My first day of partial fucking sucked. I hate all of the other patients and the doctor mispronounced my name 8 times. The groups are boring and I have nothing to add to them. 2 weeks and I'm out of this.

Partial Hospitalization Program and It's Real Benefits for Mental Health Treatment
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an outpatient program for clients that require a higher level of care than traditional outpatient treatment. During daily outpatient visits to our center, clients receive comprehensive addiction treatment services but do not remain in the center overnight. The partial hospitalization program (PHPs) are a step-down service that benefits those who have already completed an inpatient program and do not need around-the-clock supervision, but instead, a particularly high level of support. Once the client completes a partial hospitalization program PHP, he or she may transition to a standard outpatient program. During partial hospitalization program (PHP), the client visits the recovery center 3-5 days per week for a few hours each day while still residing at a personal residence. A PHP is more intensive than most outpatient programs, which typically meet fewer times per week.
Benefits of a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
During a PHP, doctors and nurses on staff administer medication as needed to reduce cravings and mitigate severe symptoms of withdrawal. In addition to medical care, PHPs, sometimes referred to as day treatment programs, provide services such as behavioral therapy, individual therapy, and group therapy, and counseling. Clients in a PHP engage in an intensive recovery program and work closely with several addiction treatment professions, such as physicians, nurses, therapist, psychiatrists, and social workers.
Aftercare Planning
Treatment professionals help prepare the client for discharge by developing an aftercare plan, which includes relapse prevention techniques such as support groups, partnered supportive housing, and counseling.
Co-Occurring Conditions
Most partial hospitalization program (PHPs) are equipped to identify and address co-occurring mental health conditions such as generalized depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and more.
Who Benefits From PHP?
Ideal partial hospitalization program (PHP) candidates include those who…
Need ongoing medical supervision.
Have successfully completed an inpatient treatment program.
Require more support than other outpatient programs offer.
Have co-occurring mental health conditions, that at present, need to be continually addressed.
Have housing and reliable transportation.
Have a strong support system to rely on at home.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in the United States offers a vital level of care for individuals struggling with mental health or substance use disorders. With its structured and intensive treatment approach, The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a supportive and safe environment for individuals to receive therapy, counseling, and skill-building to help them on their path to recovery. Th Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) serves as a valuable alternative to inpatient hospitalization, allowing individuals to receive treatment during the day while returning home in the evenings. "You weren't actually bullied. You THINK that's bullying but that's just kids being kids."
(Btw. My psychologist in the partial hospitalization clinic said this shit to me.)
If I were really just pretending, then why the fuck am I terrified of people laughing at me? Why am I terrified of them judging me and gossiping behind my back? Why are group assignments literally a FUCKING TRIGGER TO ME?
No, really, every time someone says we have to form groups in any setting, I might actually have a fucking anxiety attack. It's especially the case when my friends/closest peers form groups with others rather than me.
It doesn't make sense. If it's not bullying, then why does it literally PARALYZE me?

If anyone is selling Eras tickets for tomorrow, June 4th, I’d really appreciate them <3
I went to the show last night and have spent the whole day sobbing. It was amazing and I’m so grateful that I got to go, but my body essentially gave out. I went into a huge pain flare minutes before Taylor got onstage and it really put a damper on my experience. I wasn’t able to stand much without risk of falling, so I couldn’t see. Everything felt like a blur (not in a dreamy way, but like I was going to collapse). I would really like to find affordable tickets for tomorrow night for a redo. I still loved the concert but I can’t lie, I’m crushed and really sick of my Disability. I’m sorry to be posting this, I just thought it may be worth a shot. I love you all.

Weird place to hunt for info, but I'm looking for anything and everything!
Anyone on here who works in a PHP/ partial hospital program? How many individual patients do the therapists carry? How is the program structured? I'm trying to figure out how to get a reasonable census, structure the program, and not burn out my therapists and I'm hitting walls left and right. I want to know what works in other places!

Tw/for mental hospital and brief mention of sh scars
——
Rosé tapped his foot impatiently, nerves and excitement bundled in his chest, along with a bouquet of Denali’s favorite flowers.
Denali was supposed to be out 10 minutes ago, but Rosé learned that hospital time moved slower. It had taken them hours to get him upstairs when he was first admitted and now he was being discharged and Rosé wished he could fast forward to when Denali was safe in his arms again. He’d come to visit him every single day he was admitted but they were hardly allowed to touch as much as they liked; if Rosé had it his way, Denali would’ve stayed in his lap the entire visit.
He waited another 15 minutes before he heard footsteps coming down the hallway and he looked up and made eye contact with Denali, who’s face spread into a delighted smile.
“You came,” Denali breathed into Rosé’s chest when he got to him.
“Of course I did,” Rosé chuckled wetly, hardly even realizing he was crying, “I fucking missed you.”
“I missed you too so much, even though we’ve seen each other every day since I came here.”
“It wasn’t the same,” Rosé replied, pulling away to get a good look at Denali. He looked more like himself and it made Rosé’s chest warm with pride. He got some color and fullness in his cheeks and his eyes seemed less sad and scared. Though, he looked exhausted.
Rosé helped him with the last little bit of discharge paperwork and they were sent on their way, hand in hand the whole way home.
When they were finally home, Rosé let Denali have a moment with Donut who whined and cried more excitedly than either of them had ever heard her as he sat on the floor and played with her while Rosé threw Denali’s clothes into the wash, hoping to get the sterile hospital smell out of the clothes.
When Rosé returned, Denali stood back up and attached himself to him, holding tightly onto him and tucking his head under his chin. “I missed you so much.”
Rosé ran his hands down Denali’s back, rubbing it soothingly. “I missed you too, baby. You know,” he said, cooking up a scheme in his head to get Denali to sleep since he knew Denali would want to bask in his presence while awake, but they had plenty of time for that. Right now, Denali looked exhausted, he’d been complaining for weeks how uncomfortable the beds were there and how cold it was, “I had a really hard time sleeping without you. Would you mind if we showered and then took a nap together? Does that sound okay? I’m exhausted.”
A look of relief crossed over Denali’s face and Rosé knew he made the right choice. “Of course. Do you want to shower together or-?”
“I was going to leave that up to you, baby, we can shower together if you’d like or separately.”
Denali took a deep breath. “Maybe we try together?”
Rosé kissed his temple. “Of course, baby, and if it’s too much I’ll go after you, okay?”
Agreeing, Denali let himself be led upstairs to the master bathroom. He whispered to himself like a mantra that he could do this, that Rosé loved him no matter what his body looked like but the only thing that genuinely calmed him was the way Rosé looked at him, so much love and adoration in his eyes.
“I can do this,” he said louder, letting Rosé hear and see him as he slipped off his hoodie and sweatpants, leaving him bare and vulnerable. He fought the urge to cover himself; the scars that littered his thighs and arms and his stomach in particular. But he took another deep breath and thought about how this was Rosé, who loved him no matter what, who’d quite literally seen him at his very worst.
When Denali calmed his breathing and re-opened his eyes, Rosé was naked as well and he kept his eyes trained on his partner’s face, not the things on his body that caused him pain and turmoil. He stepped closer to Denali, silently asking if he could touch him.
“Yeah,” Denali breathed, letting himself fall into the bliss of getting a proper kiss for the first time in weeks.
“You’re so beautiful,” Rosé whispered, keeping their foreheads pressed together for a moment, “shall we?”
Nerves dissipated, Denali followed Rosé into the warm spray, letting it relax his body and mind. “Thank you for this, Rosie,” he sighed blissfully.
They took turns washing one another, Rosé taking extra care to be tender and loving with Denali until the water ran cold and Rosé shrieked like a little girl, making Denali laugh hysterically. As much as Rosé hated when the water began to run icy, he got to see Denali’s dimples again as he laughed and that alone was worth it.
Once they were out and dry, Rosé let Denali pick out pjs for the both of them to wear. Even though it was only April, he chose their matching Christmas pjs that they’d worn every Christmas for the last two years.
“These are comfy,” he said sheepishly as he handed them off to Rosé.
“They are,” Rosé smiled, “can I help you put on yours?”
Biting his lip, Denali agreed, watching closely as Rosé helped him step into the soft pants, pulling them up his legs and then doing the same with the top.
“Now you have to let me help you.”
Denali did the same as Rosé, sighing contently when he was finished and they were both dressed, warm and comfortable.
“To bed now, my love?”
Fighting back a yawn, Denali nodded, curling up beside Rosé underneath their comforter.
“Rosie, can I ask you something?”
“Of course, baby, are you okay? Do you need anything?”
Smiling to himself, Denali found Rosé’s hand and laced their fingers together. “I’m more okay than I have been in a long time. I know there’s still a lot of work I have to do but for the first time I actually feel like it’s possible.”
Hearing Denali say that was absolutely everything to Rosé, so much so that it brought tears to his eyes again. “I’m so fucking proud of you, sweetheart. Now what was it that you wanted to ask?”
A flush gracing his cheeks, Denali spoke quietly. “Can you sing? I missed hearing you sing all the time.”
“And here I thought you’d enjoy the break from it,” Rosé laughed before turning soft, “of course I will, though. Any requests?”
“Nope, I just wanna hear you.”
“Got it,” Rosé said as he began to sing, a gentle love song that he’d sang to him many times before. It was comforting to the both of them.
Denali laid in the crook of Rosé’s arm, growing sleepy as the other man sang softly to him.
“I love you so much, Rosie,” he mumbled before sleep pulled him under.
“I love you too, baby,” Rosé replied, letting himself rest and relax more than he had in weeks.
