Da Qing's bracelet says ... something.

He wears this silver bangle in a lot of scenes, but this is the only place the text engraved on it is visible. I'm almost positive it's in English, and the first two words are probably "if you" -- but beyond that, it's a lot foggier.

After a lot of squinting, I think the first five words may be "if you always stay together". However, I haven't been able to find that specific wording on a bracelet anywhere through Google, which makes me think that either this is a unique piece, or I'm not reading it correctly. There seem to be six words total on the visible part, and then a break as though between two phrases. The writing continues, but the bracelet twists, hiding whatever further words are there against his wrist.

I've included all the shots of it here, in case any one of them brings more clarity than another. He's turning his wrist in the shot, which means the glare and focus change slightly from frame to frame.

And here's some more of him just wearing it in general! It's not plot-critical, and it gets obscured a lot by his long sleeves, but it does make up a standard three-piece set for him, along with his earring and his bells. He even wears it when he goes jogging!

Unlike the other two, though, the silver bracelet occasionally gets swapped out for something a little more elaborate.

And very infrequently, he will wear both at the same time.

However, the silver bracelet does seem to be an incredibly important part of the ensemble, because it actually predates the bells.

Because of said long sleeves and angles, though, it is not clear whether or not Da Qing has this bracelet on when he meets Zhao Yunlan. He definitely has it on by the time they're having their very meaningful friendship necklace moment, though, so if you want to believe that this bracelet is also a gift from the World's Worst Cat Owner, there's room for that to be true! No idea how he got it or got it engraved, but hey, if he can invent alcohol in however long he was slumming around in the past, surely he can find time to run out to his local James Avery outlet.

I know there are other reasons for her to call him that, but I like what the translator's note sort of implies, which is that Da Ji overheard someone talking about one of said phones (perhaps like this one in the Shanghai Film park museum!) and thought, yes, that's it, that's the perfect nickname for the guy who is both my crush and only other member of my species I've ever met.

Cats are just weird little guys.

yes the peacock miraculous obviously needs to be felix's and is extremely significant to him and there's so much poetry about the fact that he is the holder of the very miraculous that created him and him being the holder of it is deeply entrenched into the plot. HOWEVER.
