i feel like people arent talking about this enough but that fight scene?? pat is just so over the whole facade of enmity these two are keeping up. coupled with his jealousy of wai and his realisation of his feelings, he hates that they have to hide. that they cant even talk normally to each other. "why cant i be?" why cant he be the one hanging out, drinking with pran? be seen with each other? sing together? why do they have to hide everything about them together? he is just so upset at the reality that is their parents hate towards each other, their friends' rivalry means that he cannot hang out with the one he wants to the most. why cant i say it? why cant we be happy together?

You see this right here, this tells me that when they officially start dating, Pat is going to see Pran as his baby. We already knew he, Pat, liked to take care of Pran, with his love language being acts of service, but with THIS scene we get to see an example of the care being shown with obvious affection being displayed behind the care he is giving.
This rubbing of cheeks and the nose scrunch that says,"You're so precious" and I can't wait to see more.
Side note, I'm not referring to any top and bottom dynamics, only the way a person shows affection.

I finally got around to watching Bad Buddy today and omg I just have to get my thoughts out about that last scene because it’s literal perfection.
Everything about the scene was just done so perfectly and the kiss being more intense was actually a perfect choice and no it’s not cause I want to see them makeout. It’s a perfect choice because it’s true to emotions of both Pat and Pran.
Pat, who had no idea that he liked this boy until the music store scene is suddenly confronted with the fact that maybe he’s liked this boy for a long time, maybe his feelings run too deep, too intense. He has more feelings than he knows how to deal with and spends the entire episode was battling with himself about his feelings and the potential that his feelings were not reciprocated. Then the first kiss happens and he finally gets the confirmation that they are reciprocated. So what happens? The dam breaks. This is the moment you see himself finally release the tension he’s held all day and let Pran know all the feelings he has for him. Hence, the second, more intense, kiss and the smile after.
In contrast, Pran has known he’s liked this boy for ages and has battled with himself about his feelings for years. He constantly holds himself back. Every time he’s drawn into Pat, he has to remind himself to step back. To not get too close. He does this because he knows this is something he can never have. Not only because of their parents but because he can’t imagine that Pat might like him back. Then they have the the rooftop scene and you can just see his expression say I’m hurt, I’m tired, I can’t keep feeling like this. Then the conversation shifts and he sees a flicker of hope. He sees a chance that his feelings are reciprocated, so he steps forward. The first kiss happens; the damn breaks. And it’s everything he wanted and yet, nothing he can ever have. So he decides screw it. He pours everything into the second, more intense, kiss. All the feelings he’s held back, he lets it out ten fold because he knows he can’t have this again. So he breaks his own heart in this moment to have a moment of bliss. Hence, the pure expression of sadness and heartbreak after.

Bad Buddy Episode 5 Thoughts
Okay, I was not expecting that? There's something amazing about Pat's realization about his feelings for Pran, because it doesn't feel like 'oh have I started liking Pran?', it's 'oh, ive liked Pran for a while'. Like I said last week, Pat definitely likes Pran romantically, but he does what he likes and goes for what he wants. Pat is ruled by his heart, Pran is ruled by his head. Pat's realization this episode was him contextualizing what was already there.
The scene between Pat, Pran and Wai was amazing and I was watching it while peeking through my fingers. Pat is so jealous and wants to desperately for Pran to recognize him in public (and even before this, while both of them prefer to pretend that they don't know each other it Pran who constantly worries about the consequences) and Pran won't give him that. Wai absolutely suspects something is up at this point though.
Pran and Pat's rooftop conversation, the way that the dialogue says so much, but both the other person and the audience is able to hear everything that isn't being said too. The way that both of them lean in, wanting and understanding what's about to happen. Pran initiating the second kiss, letting his head take a backseat to his heart for the first time since we've met him and Pat crying because he's always ruled by his heart. The way that Pat smiles when they pull back and Pran, who has wanted this since they were in high school pulls away. I lived the way that Pat's face falls as Pran walks away.
I can't wait for the bet next episode and both of them figuring out where to go from here.

I feel like there are a lot of unsaid thoughts for every phrase Pat says during this iconic scene in ep 5. For a character who’s normally so open, it was very interesting to see him be the opposite. Bear with me now:
1)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
What’s left unsaid: “That was our song. It’s special to me. I don’t like that you played it with him.”
2)
Tumblr media
What’s left unsaid: “Do you not care about me? Do you care about him more than me?”
3)
Tumblr media
What’s left unsaid: “You get to be around him without having to hide. You get to be his friend, visit his house, but I will not let you take this away from me too. Let me have this.”
4)
Tumblr media
What’s left unsaid: “How much longer do we need to pretend we don’t know each other? Why do we need to be afraid of what others think?”
Bonus:
Tumblr media
Interpret this in your own way. I wanna hear what you guys have to say about this one :)

Pat X Pran Kiss Scene
A testimony on why this is one of the greatest kissing scenes I have seen:
Pat initiates the kiss and it is not as hesitant as one would believe it should be. There is a sense of desperation and urgency but also a simmering sense of security in it as though he knows what he is doing.
Tumblr media
Pran responds with an equal sense of intensity and belief that he knows this is happening. It was not just a casket of passions burst open, it was calm and they appeared very self-aware even though it is a presentation of getting lost in the moment. The conversation that preceded this kiss substantiates this.
Tumblr media
They pause here, Pat takes a pause and this is one of the factors that make it real, they pause and look at each other. There's eye contact and they just soak the moment in. This happens in real life but it is rarely explained in cinema.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Look at Pran, just his teary-eyed gaze and how could you not feel this whirlwind of emotions on a rollercoaster on Saturn rings. Your repressed feelings are finally tumbling out like monsoon showers and they are reciprocated. And, and you don't know what to do, so you just look at your significant bother. You look at him to reiterate that this is real, this exists. It is a moment where you refute the belief that you don't have to name it to know it. Nanon and Ohm are such incredible actors and this is immaculate timing.
Tumblr media
Now, Pran initiated the kiss again, which is why it felt very real to me. Usually, gay dramas or shows just end it with a kiss and that is not how it usually goes irl. He literally tugs Pat's neck and kisses him again which ughh, this where the brimming passions come into play.
Tumblr media
And they are lost, you know what, this moment is like worth witnessing so I won't read between the lines much but the way it fucking made me yearn.
Tumblr media
They are just soaking it in, this whole thing was so not rushed and as a viewer, you get the time to intricately see the time stamps of each emotion. That's one of my favorite bits of this and why I wanted to analyze it.
Tumblr media
And here is the build-up for the next scene, you see what emotions will come and interplay succeeding the kiss. They use the residual emotional strength as actors to set up a premise for the next situation. While Pat is smiling and overwhelmingly happy because he probably stamped his uncertainty of love that only existed in his imaginations into something very real. Pran is just tumbling out emotions, he is overwhelmed and confused and complete and relieved and uncertain.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Hence, I rest my case as to why this is the best kissing scene I have come across and no, I don't take any constructive criticism. Bii, I will go gay and yearn now
