Story Title: Swallows in the Windless Field
Fandom: The Song of Achilles
AU: Robin Hood
Chapter: 1/?
Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/42296373
Summary:
Patroclus told her who he was. He told her about his past, about his betrothed, about his own father. He told her about the months he had spent in Sherwood Forest before she joined him. He told her about his thievery and she told him the peasants had named him: Robin Hood.
“Why have they named me?”
Briseis lounged next to their fire. The nights had become long and bitterly dark by then. It was still before the first snowfall, but the two of them were the only living things not vanished with winter’s approach other than the redwings and fieldfares which still twittered among the barren trees. “I do not know. I believe many of them feel a kinship with you.”
“They do?” That astounded Patroclus. “For what reason?”
“We all wish to steal from the nobles at times, but precious few have the guts. You don’t steal from those who need their coin. The villagers in Nottingham, at least, are convinced of that.”
--
Robin Hood but make it Patrochilles, enjoy.
Characters: Patroclus, Achilles, Briseis, Ajax, Diomedes, Odysseus, Nestor, etc.
Pairings: Patroclus/Achilles, Diomedes/Odysseus, (eventually) Odysseus/Hektor

“And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone. [...] When he died, all things soft and beautiful and bright would be buried with him.”  🩸

“In the darkness, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun.” 🌻
Two souls, reunited.

It’s the middle of the night. Chiron should probably get some sleep. Looking out of his window he sees two boys, they’re stargazing. Achilles! He thinks. Patroclus!
It’s only then that he realises that Patroclus’ skin is way too white and as glorious as Achilles was, he definitely didn’t light up like a glow stick in the night. It’s not them. It’s just Nico and Will.
It’s been over 2000 years, they’re dead, Chiron, they’re dead.

Chapter 2 of Swallows in the Windless Field is out
Summary: Patrochilles but make it Robin Hood (Pat is Robin Hood)
Read on AO3 | Read from the beginning
“Why would a nobleman seek out Robin Hood?” Ajax spoke first, too curious to keep from speaking his mind.
“Why else but to join him!” As the nobleman strode forward confidently, his knight did not relax. His dark eyes slid smoothly from Patroclus with his bow to Ajax with his branch. Briseis brandished a knife but did not seem to draw as much attention. Patroclus could recall thinking it was a foolish oversight. She was more ruthless than he. “My apologies, I’ve yet to introduce myself. I am Odysseus, son of Sir Laertes, Earl of Locksley.”
At this, Patroclus narrowed his eyes. He had briefly met the Earl of Locksley, though it felt as though that were in another life. If the Earl’s son recognized him, it did not show on his face. “I am Patroclus. If it’s Robin Hood you seek, then you’ve found him.” He said, not yet presuming that they were either friend or foe.

remember percy said boys and girls arent allowed to be alone in the same cabin? it makes me cackle that rule exclusively applies to only boys & girls when chiron literally taught achilles & patroclus in early chb and apparently it still never crossed his mind that one thing homosexuals sure have is audacity
