Are you watching Genzeroes?
Ricky, you can come off anon if you want my opinion on your latest projects. Just kidding. (Sort of.)
I have not. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t. I have conflicting opinions on the media, mostly to do with NFT culture and not really wanting to fuel anything the finance bros are doing these days. I also usually watch Richard’s movies and tv shows to make icons, and this looks so stylized that I doubt I would use them.
However, a couple things intrigue me. The episodes are like 5 minutes? Very little time commitment with potentially big payoff. The cast. Not just Richard, but Aleks Paunovic, Tahmoh Penikett & Bethany Brown are CW darlings, and I love wrasslin’ so I’d like to see what Paul Wight is doing these days post-WWE. Also the different format intrigues me? It’s like, a cartoon or comic in some parts?
I'm curious about the discord group. Has anyone joined? Are actors active in it? My social anxiety prevents me from exploring that further, but I’m tempted every time I see the link on Richard’s ig story.

Season Two of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Is Now Official! Coming 2021
Today, ahead of the New York Comic Con Camp Cretaceous panel, the Jurassic World official YouTube account has released a brand-new forty-five second teaser trailer for the second season of the Netflix Animated Show.
The trailer provides a hint at the aftermath of the Jurassic World incident we saw portrayed in both the titular film and the first series of the film – with damage across Isla Nublar now evident as the dinosaurs begin to adapt to life outside of the confines of their paddocks. We can see Sinoceratops making their way through broken fencing, Compsognathus leaping around a muddied and abandoned Gyrosphere, and even the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex on the hunt for the kids.
The new trailer seems to pit the kids against a host of animals not seen in the first season – with the Baryonyx from Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, the Ceratosaurus from Jurassic Park III and the Tyrannosaurus Rex all present to provide a new host of carnivorous creatures for the group to encounter. Interestingly, the shots of the group we have seen so far are without Ben present – suggesting that the reunion we all anticipate may not occur right when the second season picks up.
We are interested to see how this will play out moving forwards. Whilst the main group seem to be fending off dinosaurs together, is it possible that Ben is out there, surviving on his own, similar to Eric Kirby? For now, we will have to wait and see – but the shots from inside of Tyrannosaurus Rex Kingdom get us incredibly excited to explore more of an abandoned Isla Nublar when the second season of Camp Cretaceous drops in early 2021.
What did you think of the first season of the show? And what do you hope will happen in the second season? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to The Jurassic Park Podcast for all the latest news on Camp Cretaceous!
Take a look at the Press Release via Dreamworks below:
"DreamWorks Animation today announced a second season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will debut globally on Netflix in 2021. The first season, inspired by the multi-billion-dollar franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, was set against the same timeline of the 2015 blockbuster film Jurassic World. Season 2 will find the stranded campers struggling to survive on Isla Nublar as the series charges forward beyond the events of the Jurassic World film. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. But when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are stranded. Unable to reach the outside world, they’ll need to go from strangers to friends to family if they’re going to survive. Scott Kreamer (Pinky Malinky) and Aaron Hammersley (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness), serve as showrunners and executive producers. The series is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow and Frank Marshall. The series features the voices of Paul-Mikél Williams (Westworld) as “Darius,” Jenna Ortega (You) as “Brooklynn,” Ryan Potter (Titans) as “Kenji,” Raini Rodriguez (Austin & Ally) as “Sammy,” Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs) as “Ben” and Kausar Mohammed (Silicon Valley) as “Yaz.”   For an inside look at season one be sure to check out the New York Comic Con x MCM Comic Con's Metaverse Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous panel today at 2:40pm EDT. Join executive producers Colin Trevorrow and Scott Kreamer, consulting producer Zack Stentz, story editor Josie Campbell, and staff writers Sheela Shrinivas, Rick Williams and Bethany Armstrong Johnson as they take you inside the writers’ room of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is now streaming on Netflix."

[TASK 169: COMANCHE]
In celebration of November being Native American Heritage Month, here’s a masterlist below compiled of over 90+ Comanche faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. The Comanche are a Native American and Native Mexican tribe who historically have lived in a region they call “Comancheria”, which encompasses the US states of Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas and the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The majority of Comanche now live in Oklahoma or Texas. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!

STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.

Finished Reading: American Psycho
I really enjoyed this book. Haven’t read a book that gave me such intrigue and curiosity to keep reading like this book for a while. I’m surprised and slightly disappointed it is only 3.8/5 stars on Goodreads but then, I suppose the level of graphic violence must have put off a lot of readers. For me, being the slightly morbid reader I am, I was impressed by the graphic writing. The writing style was clear and crisp, you could easily grasp the distinct voice of Patrick Bateman when he begins to narrate the story. Interestingly, the story does not start with Patrick narrating. Instead, it begins in third person describing a conversation between Tim Price and his unnamed companion (which a few pages later on turns out to be Patrick). It is interesting we don’t instantly get inside Patrick’s head, it is only a few pages in the story suddenly turns into the first person voice of Patrick Bateman. I think of the first pages demonstrating Patrick’s detachment from where he is in the moment of the scene, which is a recurring theme throughout the book.  For me, I almost felt tricked by Patrick and by the author; I fall into the trap of trying to like Patrick. It’s easy to be fascinated by psychopaths, and with that fascination comes a sprout of attatchment to this monstrous character.  Scenes where I am especially having feelings of amicability for Patrick are ones where he appears to show disgust or boredom for the rich, boring individuals he surrounds himself with. Blandness is at the core of their culture, and the fact that Patrick deviates from this blandness into psychopathy makes me more accustomed to liking him. This is of course before I have encountered any of the killing/sex scenes.
My opinion of Patrick drastically changes when the author vividly describes Patrick’s murders. He commits acts so sickly and horrifying it blows my mind how the author founds the inspiration to physically write these descriptions. As horrific as they are, I also must commend the author; enabling a reader to physically cringe over a passage of words is an achievement. It is a skill, a craft to write so vividly. The story has no clear trajectory, instead of chapter numbers each chapter name describes the scene which Patrick finds himself in. These scenes can be months, days even hours apart. I liked this style, for one thing it allowed me to tell what each chapter would be about from the title. However, there is no clear “plotline”, the book is merely describing points in time of Patrick’s life in his perspective.  It’s only during the killing scenes that I realise how warped Patrick’s mind really is. When he kills, he does not hold back at all. Despite having rigorous exercise and facial hygeine routines, when it comes to willpower over committing murder and other attrocities, Patrick really does struggle to control his willpower. Willpower or not, Patrick takes pleasure out of these acts, (as much as experiencing pleasure is possible for a psychopath like himself), it continues to hold his interest unlike the majority of things in his life (people, materialism).
Something mildly frustrating about American Psycho is the lack of depth the story goes into Patrick’s backstory. We find out very little about his backstory and past, which I imagine the author made sure of intentionally to keep Patrick more ambiguous and mysterious. Thus it is hard to deduce the extent to which we can blame his psychopathy on his genes or family or whether it is in fact due to the rich and bland culture he grew up in. It is likely to be a mixture of both, the details that we do grasp of his past are all connotated with evil and immorality. He rapes his “maid” at only 14 years old, a detail only briefly mentioned in the book, but totally jarred me. If at 14 he is capable of sexual assault, it is almost no wonder he becomes the person he does by the time he is 27. We also are shown a scene between Patrick and his younger brother Sean. It is made obvious that Sean is more successful than Patrick, such as his abillity to easily get seats at the restraunt “Dorsia”. Dorsia is Patrick’s enemy, he can never get seats at this restraunt no matter how hard he tries yet his brother secures them easily. Whilst this seems trivial, it highlights 2 important facts. Patrick feels insecure compared with his brother. And his brother is “higher up” than Patrick. I wondered when reading the scene between Patrick and his brother, how similar Patrick’s brother might be to Patrick, could he too have psychopathic traits? It is not made obvious, but I would presume that Sean could easily be a psychopath too but unlike Patrick does not need to murder. After all, not all psychopaths are murderers. As well as his brother, we are also shown a scene between Patrick and his Mother. Patrick visits his Mother in hospital, though mostly shows detatchment throughout the visit and is described looking at his hair through most of the visit; he is naturally more concerned with his appearance than with his Mother. The conversation between Patrick and his Mother shows very little other than the fact they have a poor relationship. I would imagine that Patrick and his relationship with his father would be most interesting of all his family relationships. Sadly, we find out the least about his father. Patrick describes his father’s eyes as cold and lacking emotion, traits the reader easily would match with Patrick’s own personality. I think it would be a fair statement to say that potentially, the psychopathy runs in the Bateman family. Another interesting detail is that Patrick does not need to work, one of his ex-girlfriend’s Bethany mentions, the Bateman family business must be so rich that the fact Bateman is working seems odd to Bethany. Patrick argues that he works anyway to keep up appearances.
Appearances are a huge theme in the book. It is because of Patrick’s appearance, his status as well as his good looks which make him seem like the most unlikely to commit murder. Patrick’s “appearance” essentially shields him from having to face the justice system/police like an ordinary middle classed person would. He is protected by his lawyers as well as his appearances. In one especially iconic scene, Patrick claims he murdered “Paul” but this particular man cannot believe him simply because he is sure he has seen Paul in London. He hasn’t of course, the problem with Patrick’s wall street life is that everyone looks the same; people are constantly mistaken for others; this is pure normalcy in their circle. People who have only watched the movie argue that this scene is proof that all the murders were in Patrick’s head. Perhaps one could make that argument for the film, but I would passionately disagree that is the case for the book as well. One of my favourite quotes from the book and film, which really epitomises the theme of appearances is when patrick in his head says “The inside...doesn’t matter”. Because for Patrick all his life, this has been the case. It doesn’t matter that on the inside he is a monster. Even the fact that he commits these monstrous acts doesn’t matter because they could never be associated with him. He is utterly shielded by his appearances, and perhaps part of him wants to be caught; he after all knows how easily he is protected by his status.
As evil as Patrick is, it is clear that the people around him aren’t much better. I would argue Patrick is the physical manifestation of an accumulation of the sins, evils and immoralities of the wallstreet, the rich and the bland. Another scene that especially sticks out to me is one between a taxi driver and Patrick. The driver has recognised Patrick from a “wanted poster” with his face on it; he realises Patrick is the one who murdered “Sully”, a likely close friend of the driver’s. The obvious outcome was that the driver would ring the police; he had a gun whilst Patrick only had a knife, he was the one in control of the situation. But instead, the driver demands Patrick hand over his watch and credit card. Because there was no “reward prize/money” for finding Patrick, the driver had sought out his own reward. This scene for me, suggests that Patrick might never get caught. Money plays a far bigger role than justice. Having said that, as the story progresses Patrick becomes increasingly sloppy in his killings, his perfect “mask” constantly slipping at the wrong moments so I suppose I could counter that if Patrick continued in this downward trajectory he would get caught.
I did not expect to find myself writing what feels like so much about this book. I really enjoy it a lot. The writing style, the characters, the themes. All gold. I’d easily give this book 5 stars out of 5.

Tumblr media
The Karen stereotype has brought forward a lot of commentary about how women are perceived, but one way of using this label is to call out problematic behavior or someone’s sense of entitlement, irrespective of gender or age. In the Real Housewives franchise where emotions run high and stakes are even higher, the cast members have struggled to check what they say to each other or how they react in certain situations and have often been called out for being out-of-touch, ignorant or simply too privileged.
RELATED: 10 The Real Housewives Episodes That Will Go Down In History
A refusal to learn from past mistakes and dodging accountability is a tell-tale sign of a ‘Karen’. Ignorance, unchecked entitlement, bullying, cultural insensitivity, moral policing, or even certain forms of gaslighting qualifies as Karen-esque behavior. The Real Housewives series has witnessed some major ‘Karen’ moments over the years, some of which are very difficult to live down.
10 Sonja Morgan – RHONY
Tumblr media
Sonja is too quick to judge someone, but when it comes to her own mistakes, she expects people around her to give her a free pass. Fans were shocked when she told Leah that she doesn’t talk to tattooed people and made her feel bad about her tattoos. When she relieved herself in a corn maze and ripped corns because ‘she was friends with the owner,’ she came across as really entitled.
“There’s definitely two Sonja’s. There is Mrs. Morgan, the one who lives on the Upper East Side that hates tattoos and just talks about old money. And then there’s turn up Sonja. I have a feeling that if Mrs. Morgan and turn up Sonja met they wouldn’t like each other,” Leah had said about Sonja. It became more and more obvious that in spite of being aware of her own issues, Sonja does very little work on herself and shuts out any critical communication.
9 Brandi Glanville – RHOBH
Tumblr media
Brandi Glanville has had really dramatic storylines on Real Housewives, but her ‘Karen’ moments always had to do with her channeling her insecurities upon others and her refusal to be the bigger person. She made countless allegations about people—like her comments on the Richards sisters’ drug abuse or her remarks about Adrienne and Paul’s family—which were not just baseless but also hurtful.
This alienated her from others mainly because no one could trust her; she would become aggressive quite needlessly, but what made her a proverbial Karen was definitely her refusal to be held accountable for her actions.
8 Kelly Dodd – RHOC
Tumblr media
As remembered by People, Kelly’s borderline racist remarks towards Heather, her ‘Drunk Wives Matters’ joke, or even her controversial comments on Covid-19 are probably the things she will never look down. Kelly’s entitlement has been an issue because even her friends Meghan and Vicki have found it difficult to stick up for her during certain arguments. It’s not that Kelly is insensitive or looking for a reason to start drama, but her attacks are almost always completely unwarranted and below-the-belt.
RELATED: 10 All-Time Favorite Real Housewives, According To Reddit
Like when she brought up Tamra’s daughter during lunch, or how she attacked Braunwyn for faking her addiction issues even after being aware of her history, these were moments when Kelly came across as really mean.
7 Camille Grammer – RHOBH
Tumblr media
Camille’s unprovoked attacks and tendency to slut-shame other women were problematic. She did not just go after cast members she had issues with but also made harsh comments about people she did not know that well. The Real Housewives‘ iconic Dinner from Hell episode had some good examples.
Camille made Faye Resnick feel uncomfortable for posing nude in a magazine in the past and kept on taking potshots at her because of her past, which did not merit criticism. She questioned Dorit’s financial status and brought up her husband’s loans, Camille insinuated that she should get better privileges than the other castmates because she was married to a film star, and constantly spread misinformation about people before checking her sources, which made her seem like a pot-stirrer.
6 Sutton Stracke – RHOBH
Tumblr media
The way Sutton reacted to Erica Jayne’s legal situation outed her as someone who’s not just mean but also quite self-serving; it’s safe to say that the allegations against Erica and her estranged husband Tom Girardi make every castmate pretty uncomfortable.
RELATED: 10 Bravo “They Understood The Assignment” Memes That Are Spot On
Sutton explicitly said that she wants to distance herself from Erika during this time, which would have been fine if she wouldn’t gossip about Erika behind her back, or talk about how she didn’t believe her innocence and go back to talking about the scandal to anyone who’d listen. This makes her seem like someone who enjoys others’ humiliation, and even her friend Kyle has called her out as “too-faced” for her behavior.
5 NeNe Leakes – RHOA
Tumblr media
Even NeNe’s fans couldn’t always support her actions on Real Housewives. She often gets defensive too fast which leads her to make unsavory comments about people or target their weak spots.
For example, when she judged Kim’s love life and shaded her for dating a married man even though Kim made it clear that her partner was separated, or when she implied Kenya’s marriage was fake or how she shared sensitive information that could break relationships. NeNe’s opinions are mostly based on superficial observations which makes them problematic.
4 Karen Huger – RHOP
Tumblr media
Karen has a tendency of making shading people without knowing enough about them, and more often than not she attacks people’s net worth, their families, or their lifestyle. Ashley even called her out for constantly judging others. “I’m only judging what you give me, baby,” Karen responded.
RELATED: 10 Best Karen Huger Quotes On Real Housewives Of Potomac
But in reality, this behavior makes it hard for her to make allies or even friends because Karen can be very unpredictable when she feels challenged on any level. Like how she threw Giselle out of a party with the help of security just because she said she wanted to talk, and even her supporters have often urged her to take accountability for some of her actions.
3 LeeAnne Locken – RHOD
Tumblr media
LeeAnne has constantly been racist towards her cast members and has been called out on many occasions. She usually dodges accountability by bringing up her personal hang-ups, but, at the same time, refuses to apologize. Moreover, she has been caught lying several times and has even been called out by the show’s producer Andy Cohen for making up fake production policies; her biggest issue is definitely her ignorance and her inability to see past her actions or acknowledge how her comments affect others.
2 Vicki Gunvalson – RHOC
Tumblr media
The OG housewife’s constant policing of others on Real Housewives made her lose out on many fans, especially those who couldn’t connect with her anymore. She has made several tone-deaf remarks about people of color and has constantly refused to acknowledge her problematic statements even after learning how she was wrong.
Vicki has been touted as a villain because of her overbearing nature, as was the case when she bullied Alexis Bellino for talking to her husband on phone during dinner, or when she told Meghan King that her sentiments towards her step-children were unjust.
1 Ramona Singer – RHONY
Tumblr media
Ramona has been called out by several of her castmates for repeatedly using her failed relationships and past woes to justify her inappropriate behavior. Ramona has not only cultivated an atmosphere of cliquism on the show but had also outed Leah’s mental disorder when she wasn’t ready to talk about it, she has been accused by Bethany of staff mistreatment which Ramona tried to justify by bringing up how much she usually tips.
But these problems aside, Ramona has never shown interest in taking accountability for her mistakes or even admitting that she can get carried away, which makes her seem entitled.

Music Direction by Andra Velis Simon
Featuring Bethany Thomas
September 23 – October 31, 2021

Share in the unexpected encounters between these legendary divas and the ordinary women whose lives were changed by their brush with fame. The World Premiere of
MR. DICKENS’ HAT A Play with Music
By Michael Hollinger
Directed by David Catlin
Music Direction by Chuck Larkin
November 26, 2021 – January 2, 2022
In a cozy Victorian shop sits the hat of Charles Dickens, who once used it to carry water to the victims of a train wreck (that’s true!). When a pair of bumbling thieves plots to steal it (that’s imaginary!), young Kit sets out to foil their plan, save the hat, and free her father from debtors’ prison. Filled with a host of colorful characters, constables, and carolers, this warm winter’s tale with original music brings to life the universal lesson: “Beneath our hats, we are all the same.”
FIREFLIES
By Donja R. Love
Directed by Mikael Burke
January 20 – February 20, 2022
The Civil Rights Movement has ignited the South, and the charismatic Rev. Charles Grace needs a new speech to galvanize the people. But it is Olivia, his pregnant wife, who writes those fiery speeches, and her tolerance for playing the supporting role to her husband is wearing thin. As the growing weight of secrets threatens her marriage, and a nation’s hatred threatens her child’s future, Olivia must rediscover the place that love has in her world.
INTIMATE APPAREL
By Lynn Nottage
Directed by Tasia A. Jones
April 14 – May 15, 2022
In 1905, a black seamstress named Esther sews her way out of poverty stitch by delicate stitch, creating fine lingerie for her Manhattan clientele while longing for a husband and a future. She finds common ground with a Jewish fabric merchant, a relationship they both know cannot grow. So when correspondence with a lonesome Caribbean man leads to a marriage proposal, she accepts. But as her new marriage quickly leads to regret, Esther turns back to her sewing machine to rebuild her life and refashion her future.
Ken Ludwig’s DEAR JACK, DEAR LOUISE
By Ken Ludwig
Director to be announced
July 7 – August 7, 2022
When two strangers meet by letter during World War II, a love story begins. U.S. Army Captain Jack Ludwig, a military doctor stationed in Oregon, begins writing to Louise Rabiner, an aspiring actress and dancer in New York City, hoping to meet her someday if the war will allow. But as the war continues, it threatens to end their relationship before it even starts.
Two-time Olivier Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig tells the poignant story of his own parents’ unlikely courtship during World War II.
Curtain times are: Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

St. Lazarus of Bethany (new icon)
A new icon from Fr. William Hart McNichols.
Tumblr media
+++
A note by Fr. James Martin SJ:
Dear friends: Some of you may know that I'm writing a book on Lazarus, whose story utterly captivates me. Well, today I received a beautiful new icon from my friend Fr. William Hart McNichols, which I was not expecting, and which completely bowled me over: "St. Lazarus of Bethany." I stared at it for several minutes before I could look away. And I wanted to share it with you tonight. Fr. Bill accompanied us our Holy Land pilgrimage this year and, like many pilgrims, was deeply moved by his visit to Lazarus's tomb in Bethany. Like the rest of us, he climbed the long staircase down into this first-century Jewish tomb, where by tradition Mary and Martha's brother's body had lain until it was called back to life in Jesus's greatest miracle. In this beautiful new icon, the black represents the darkness of the tomb, the brown the color of the stone, and the blue, said Bill, is the color of the Sea of Galilee. Lazarus's face is disheveled, just as it would be after someone had been sick for so long and just raised from the dead. The Greek words are "Ho Hagios Lazaros," or "The Holy Lazarus." I can't get over the look on his face: Lazarus has seen something. He has seen death, but he has also seen new life. Many scholars today feel that Lazarus is the mysterious Beloved Disciple of John's Gospel. And one tantalizing clue is that the Beloved Disciple, who reaches Jesus's Tomb on Easter Sunday, believes in the Resurrection immediately--more quickly than even St. Peter--after peering in the Tomb, and seeing the cast-off linens and the face cloth, or "soudarion." How can he believe so quickly? Because Lazarus himself had just come back from the dead! Who is Lazarus looking at in this icon? Jesus, who has just said to him, "Come out"? His sisters Mary and Martha, who had just a few days before wrapped his dead body in a shroud? The crowd, who had probably fallen back in awe and terror when he emerged from the tomb? Or perhaps this image is a few days after his dramatic raising and he is looking at those who are now pursuing him. Who is he looking at? You? It's going to take me a while to appreciate the beauty of this icon. And I know I'll have more to say about it later. For the time being, I just wanted to share it with you. St. Lazarus of Bethany, pray for us! You can order your own print here: http://frbillmcnichols-sacredimages.com/featured/st-lazarus-of-bethany-william-hart-mcnichols.html

Bio of the iconographer:
William Hart McNichols has been "drawing and coloring in his room" since he was five years old. His parents Marjory Hart McNichols and Stephen McNichols welcomed him on July 10, 1949 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver Colorado. He was a member of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) from 1968 to 2002. He studied philosophy, theology, and art at St. Louis University, Boston College, Boston University and Weston School of Theology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Father Bill furthered his art studies at California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California in 1977. In 1983 he received a Master of Fine Arts in landscape painting from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
He was ordained in 1979 as a Roman Catholic priest by Archbishop James Casey in Denver, CO. From 1983 - 1990 he worked with the wonderful AIDS Hospice team of St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, New York. During this time he also illustrated 25 books, mostly children's books for Paulist Press. In 1990, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to study the technique, history and spirituality of icon painting (technically "icon writing") with Russian-American master, Robert Lentz. In 1996 he was honored to be invited to Boston College by friend and mentor, Fr. Jim O'Brien, SJ to create 5 icons for the Jesuit Community there. In 1998 he returned to New York to create icons as a part of the West Side Jesuit Community. Since 1999 he has assisted with sacramental ministry in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe in Taos and Northern New Mexico. He continues to assist in Albuquerque after returning there in the fall of 2013.
Artist Statement on Iconography "There is only Christ: He is everything and He is in everything." St. Paul, Colossians 3:11 I honor and revere the Byzantine icons and the profound spirituality of the Othodox churches. I try to bring true devotion and prayer into the process of writing an icon, dependent upon the inspiration of the Blessed Trinity, the saints, holy ones, and the Mother of God. As a Roman Catholic iconographer, I have no intention of assuming to be Orthodox, but continue to pray with many others, for unity brought about by the Spirit, amongst the churches. 2014 is my 24th year as an Iconographer and I am very grateful for the tremendous support from around the World. The great bulk of Icons are commissions from individuals, families and Churches. I look at Icons from all ages and times in books ranging from the most ancient with the aged and muted colors to two fascinating books of Siberian icons with brilliant hues, almost singular in the world of icons as these icons have retained their vivid colors; so I learn something new from every one. Abundant blessings, Fr. Bill McNichols

10 To Watch : Mayor’s Edition 92319
RICK HORROW’S TOP 10 SPORTS/BIZ/TECH/PHILANTHROPY ISSUES FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 23 : MAYOR’S EDITION
with Jacob Aere
Indianapolis is the center of the golf world as the LPGA Indy Women in Tech tournament and educational program unfolds this week. The 2019 IWiT field consists of seven out of the Top 10 LPGA Tour money leaders and 17 Solheim Cup players. There are also numerous activities during IWiT Championship week that focus on women and children in technology: The Indy Women in Tech Summit comprises over 600 tech leaders in the community coming together to discuss diversity and inclusion in the workplace, with a session featuring LPGA Tour Pro Mariah Stackhouse and LPGA Chief Brand and Communications Officer Roberta Bowman. Tournament week will also feature the Eureka! Exchange – a fun and engaging area where kids can interact and have fun with hands on tech activities, curated by industry experts. Finally, Nextech’s Pathways to Tech presented by Saint Joseph’s College of Marian University allows two hundred high school students to learn about the different pathways to tech careers. This is a fun experience at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway pagoda providing an opportunity for the next generation of STEM/Tech leaders to interact with Indy tech companies and professionals.
Online lender Social Finance, known as SoFi, will pay more than $30 million annually for the next 20 years to entitle the new NFL stadium under construction in Los Angeles, making it the largest deal in U.S. naming rights history. According to multiple sources, the partnership eclipses the previous NFL high-water mark of $20 million annually at MetLife Stadium, and Chase’s $30 million annual deal with MSG for extensive promotional rights that stop short of entitlement. It may also eclipse Scotiabank’s $40 million deal to rename Air Canada Centre in Toronto in 2017. SoFi’s CEO is Anthony Noto, the NFL’s former CFO. Along with stadium rights, SoFi becomes a sponsor of both tenants, the Chargers and Rams, and will sponsor the adjacent performance venue. SoFi becomes one of Silicon Valley’s biggest sports spenders; it has spent more than $200 million annually on marketing in recent years. It currently claims 800,000 members, with products including student loans, mortgages, personal loans, and wealth management. The company believes the venue will help it become a household financial brand.
Endeavor IPO is back on, aims to raise about $600 million.  After a postponement in early August, entertainment giant Endeavor Group filed revised paperwork with the SEC as they move forward with an IPO. The company plans to offer approximately 19.35 million shares of stock for sale, at an estimated price of $30 to $32 per share. (As usual, the underwriters have an option for additional shares.) The company estimates they will received net proceeds of $547-$632 million after expenses. Public investors will own a piece of a money-losing company that carries $4.57 billion in long-term debt. And it will be firmly controlled by the top two executives (Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell) and the controlling investor, Silver Lake Partners; together they will control about 88.5% of the voting power. Endeavor has expanded far beyond its traditional talent agency roots. In the past few years it has acquired the UFC mixed-martial arts circuit, fashion, and sports management group IMG, the Professional Bull Riders tour and streaming provider NeuLion. The transactions are key reasons why the company reported $4.5 billion in debt as of June 30
Digital media rights will be the key driver for the growth of the sports industry over the next five years, with the fourth edition of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Sports Survey predicting growth in that sector of up to 9.7%. While the PwC paper is enthusiastic on the unrealized potential of digital, it does cast doubts as to whether sports organizations can benefit from online growth, with concerns that the major technology firms will instead be the ones to reap the benefits as both gatekeepers and producers of content. Also a factor, according to the study, will be “much lower growth rates” seen across traditional media streams, which are estimated to be at no more than 4.1% during the same period. Overall, the PwC paper does paint a positive picture of the overall sports market, predicting the industry to grow at a healthy annual rate of 6.4% over the next three to five years. That is below the 7.4% growth of the past three to five years, however, the study insists growth remains "robust."
The Trump administration has announced a national youth sports strategy that will reach beyond in-school physical education and into community-based programs. It will be funded by a legacy endowment with a goal of raising $100 million to provide grants intended to drive increased participation. Developed by the Department of Health & Human Services and the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition, the strategy largely will mirror a draft report issued in June. That report echoed many of the recommendations of those who previously studied participation declines, including the Aspen Institute’s Project Play. Among the focus areas: Recruiting and training of coaches and volunteers, creation of safe places to play, provision of quality equipment and strategies to increase participation among girls. Among the first to sign on in support of the endowment is NBC Sports Group’s Sports Engine -- a leading software provider for youth sports organizations -- which will offer a Premier League Fan Fest trip and other prizes in a sweepstakes to raise funds for the NEYS. Other founding supporters include the NHL, MiLB, UFC, Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the AAU, the Sports & Fitness Industry Association and Boston Scientific.
Athletes attend Harvard to “Crossover Into Business.” The program, taught by Harvard Business School professor Anita Elberse, is "built to help professional athletes be better prepared for business activities during and after their active sports careers,” per Harvard's course description. Participants will each be matched with a pair of Harvard Business School MBA student mentors who will “develop their business acumen and empower them to make better business decisions.” The program is tailored to fit athletes' schedules and interests all while leveraging the "acclaimed Harvard Business School case method.” Athletes taking part in the latest cycle of Harvard Business School's Crossover Into Business program, according to the Boston Herald, include: figure skater Ashley Wagner; tennis players Caroline Wozniacki, Bethanie Mattek-Sands, and Andrea Petkovic; former NFLer Will Beatty; Knicks forward Reggie Bullock; Magic forward Amile Jefferson; NBA free agent Jose Calderon; and former NBAer David Lee. Last year NBA star Kyrie Irving attended the program, along with former NFL tight end Martellus Bennett; NBA players Paul Millsap, Zaza Pachulia, and Spencer Dinwiddie; and other athletes from the WNBA, MLS, UFC, and the American Ballet Theater.
The San Diego Padres are fine with Petco Park hosting the annual KAABOO festival beginning next September. The team has "taken strides to greatly improve how it protects the ballpark's playing surface," according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Padres President of Business Operations Erik Greupner said that the team "upgraded the protective flooring it uses during in-season non-baseball events a couple years ago." The ballpark in recent years has hosted several concerts and Comic-Con with "no visible damage to the field.” KAABOO, an "upscale music, comedy, art and culinary festival" set to be held September 18-20, 2020, is heading to Petco "after being held for its first five years at the Del Mar Racetrack and adjacent fairgrounds." There is a multiyear contract to hold the event at the ballpark, and Padres season ticket holders will have "access to a special 'loyalty discount'" for the festival. Greupner said landing KAABOO is a "fulfillment of our promise to the people of San Diego that this publicly funded ballpark will (have) more than just baseball."
Esports will get a 24/7 mobile channel with VENN. According to USA Today, the online channel will debut next year with live studios in New York and Los Angeles and aims to be an online video home for esports and game culture - similar to that of ESPN for sports. The channel will be available as an app on streaming and mobile devices, and will offer channels on current video game and esports destinations such as Twitch and YouTube. VENN also plans to put itself on live streaming services such as Sling, YouTube TV, Hulu, and PlutoTV, as well as Snapchat and TikTok for a fittingly full digital presence. Although some of the content will be behind a paywall for enhanced viewer experiences, the majority of the content will be free to watch. In terms of funding, the network's co-CEOs announced $17 million and some of its investors include Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill, Blizzard Entertainment co-founder Mike Morhaime, and Blizzard's former global esports head Amy Morhaime. With esports on the rise across pop culture, it is fitting that they will have a space with the best coverage 24/7 on an online platform.
The Travelers Championship in Connecticut raises $2.1 million for 150 local charities. According to the Hartford Courant, representatives from all of the charities — including the primary beneficiary, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp — were at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell last Tuesday to receive their respective shares. Since taking over as the title sponsor in 2007, Travelers has generated a charitable haul of nearly $20 million. The Travelers Championship donates 100% of its net proceeds to charity, and this year's effort brings the amount generated by the tournament to nearly $20 million since Travelers became title sponsor in 2007. At least 750 charities have benefited over that time. Next year, the tournament will have a huge international name added to the list in the likes of Reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year Rory McIlroy, which will bring even more charity attention to the event.
Proctor and Gamble brand will buy 9,000 tickets to support equal pay for women. The consumer goods corporation’s Secret deodorant will spend $200,000 to buy 9,000 tickets to National Women’s Soccer League games in September and October as part of the brand’s growing effort to support equal pay and opportunity for women’ soccer players. According to Ad Age, Secret will buy 1,000 tickets at one home game for each of the league’s nine teams, offering seats to women’s organizations, youth sports teams, not-for-profit organizations, and other local partners. The brand will also give away Secret products, T-shirts and spirit towels to the first thousand fans at one game in each city. The effort follows an ad Secret launched in March promoting equal pay for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and a $529,000 donation split across the 23 USWNT players in July after it won the Women’s World Cup. Brands have been backing women’s sports, which have also seen a resurgence of interest in broadcast time thanks to digital platforms.

Ed. Note: Wesley is back with another round up of amazing live music in Memphis this month. This columns tends to focus on one-time shows and special concerts, Memphis is full of regular gigs at unique venues across town. Check out the Lounge, Hernando’s Hideaway, B-Side, and Eight & Sand in the Central Station hotel, in addition to all the usual haunts. Top photo: Xavier Wulf performs at the Hi-Tone on March 6th.  Here are the twelve concerts you won’t want to miss in Memphis this month: MARCH 1 Sounds2Real Syndicate Presents: Guitar Heroes vol. 1 at Growlers Doors at 7 p.m., all ages, $10 Six Memphis guitarists will come together under one roof to showcase the many unique styles of Memphis guitar. Featuring Derek Brasser Jr., Thomas O. Crivens, Jamaal Franklin, Ping Rose, Steve Bethany, and Paul Taylor, this show aims to create a collaborative space for guitarists and fans looking to talk shop and network.  MARCH 3 Jill Scott at The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts 8 p.m., $57+ First off, let me say that tickets for this show are more or less sold out—only the $215 “Official Platinum” floor seats are left through Ticketmaster. That being said, I’ve found people reselling legit non-price-gouged GA tickets through the Facebook event, so if you really want to go, check those out first. Watch out for the scammers, though.  Anyway, Jill Scott’s music is timeless. Her debut album Who Is Jill Scott? was one of my biggest inspirations to start playing music. Lucky for us, the album’s 20th anniversary is this year, which she’s commemorating with a tour performing the album in its entirety.  MARCH 5 Buildings and Bummer with Pressed and Namazu at The Lamplighter Lounge Doors at 9 p.m., 21+, $7 Thanks For Nothing by BUMMER All four of these bands are heavy. Buildings (Minneapolis) is sludgy, Bummer (Kansas City, MO) is noisy, Pressed (Memphis) is hardcore, and Namazu (Memphis) is proggy. I enjoy it very much. Take a listen to Bummer’s “Second Chimes (Terrence Howard War Machine)” above. It’s hypnotic and driving, and the right kind of abrasive. Still really disappointed that we never got to actually see Howard suit up, but Don Cheadle did okay I guess. MARCH 6 Xavier Wulf at Hi Tone Doors at 6 p.m., all ages, $20 Memphis is really good at producing underground rap stars and everywhere else is good at biting the sound. I’m only a little bitter about it. Xavier Wulf is Memphis through and through. With several videos on YouTube racking up millions of views and almost a million monthly Spotify listeners, the dude is real. “Whiplash’d”, linked above, is one of my favorites. Post Malone with Swae Lee and Tyla Yaweh 8 p.m., all ages, $85+ Not gonna lie, there’s really nothing else I can (or want to) add to the Post Malone conversation. Say what you want about the guy, he knows his way around a hook. Catch him with “Sunflower” collaborator Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd fame and Tyla Yaweh. MARCH 13 Marco Alexander in The Green Room Doors at 7 p.m., all ages, $10 I was reading Memphis musician Marco Alexander’s bio when this particular line stood out, “Marco has since performed with more than 23 orchestras nationwide and has participated in national soundtrack tours with Disney and Nintendo.” If this guy’s good enough for Mickey Mouse AND Super Mario, he’s more than good enough for us. Ed. Note: Here’s a bonus show recommendation from Holly… Graham Winchester Release Show at Bar DKDC 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m., $10 I’ve been watching Graham Winchester provide this city with music basically since I moved to town almost 15 years ago. He’s come a long way from playing behind South Park in what I’m sure was a condemned parking lot! The prolific drummer and musician plays in too many bands to count, and you can catch him around town at least eight or nine days a week. This March 13th show is extra special though—Graham releases a solo 45 record for Madjack Records at Bar DKDC, accompanied by the TN Screamers, the Turnstiles, and GW Electric Band. It’s a $10 cover, records are $10, and the show, which “will run completely on time” is from 7:30 p.m. ’til 10 p.m. MARCH 15 America at The Orpheum Theatre 7 p.m., all ages, $41+ My Dad bought me a guitar when I was young (mostly because he didn’t like me playing on his), except he was lowkey disappointed when the only songs I learned to play were from video games (shout out to “Breezy” from Final Fantasy VIII). So to try and make him proud, I decided to learn a song that he liked and that I could learn fairly quickly. I landed on America’s “A Horse with No Name.” Real simple, like two chords, and easy to sing and play at the same time. To this day, I love that song, I love this band, and I love my Dad. And that’s what being an American is all about. MARCH 16 Cher with Nile Rodgers & CHIC at FedEdForum 7:30 p.m., all ages, $24+ Between Cher playing everyone’s firebrand grandmother on Twitter and Nile Rodgers contributing to Daft Punk’s inescapable “Get Lucky” there’s a brand new music interest for musical icons and I am absolutely here for it. Cher’s latest release, a collection of ABBA covers called Dancing Queen, has sold fairly well world-wide, which leads me to believe that another comeback is in order. After half a century of music, Cher is eventual, Cher is inevitable. MARCH 21 Young Nudy at Growlers Doors at 7 p.m., all ages, $20+ When Young Nudy raps, I like how he’ll just trail off at the end of a bar, as if the extra syllable takes precious breath away from the start of the next one. Right now, he’s arguably more known for being kin to rap superstar 21 Savage, but with co-signs from 21 along with J. Cole, JID, Playboy Carti, and EarthGang, that’ll definitely change soon. His new album Anyways dropped in February, which he’s currently touring. MARCH 24 Damo Suzuki’s Network at Hi Tone Doors at 8 p.m.,18+, $20 Damo Suzuki, 70-year-old Japanese musician best known for fronting the idolized German krautrock band CAN during its best years, has been traveling the world since the late 90s bringing musicians into Damo Suzuki’s Network. Music rarely gets more experimental than it does in the Network. If a song having structure is unimportant to you, you will feel at home in Damo Suzuki’s Network. MARCH 26 of Montreal with Locate S,1 and Harlan at Hi Tone Doors at 8 p.m., 18+, $18 of Montreal is a twee pop band from Athens, Georgia that was indie-big in the aughts, and for good reason—they put out six albums from 2000-2009 which were all critical successes. I don’t believe in guilty pleasures, but it is kind of hard to revisit this band because adolescent tastes rapidly evolve. But, like most things you loved in high school or college, there’s still a place in your heart for them. And actually, I think Cherry Peel, their first album released in 1997, still rocks. Their latest album UR FUN released in January, and it’s dripping with 80s nostalgia. Pretty cool if you like Stranger Things. JUDGE DREDD TOXIC TP
Paul Jenkins (A) Marco Castiello (CVR) Mark Buckingham
Advance solicited for June release! When Dredd discovers that some of them have foregone that disfiguring procedure in favor of hosting protective alien symbiotes, it sparks a groundswell of anti-immigration fervor. Soon the toxic atmosphere spills into the streets, undermining the very infrastructure that makes the city tolerable. Can Dredd find a solution to save the now-indispensable aliens from the angry mobs? A perfect mix of satire and social commentary!
LIFE ON THE MOON HC
Robert Grossman (A/CVR) Robert Grossman
From an artist who reveled in illustrating “the un-illustratable,” a historical graphic novel based on the “Great Moon Hoax,” the most successful newspaper hoax ever. In 1835, New York newspaper The Sun published a series of six articles declaring the discovery of life-and even civilization–on the Moon, which the paper attributed to the famous contemporary astronomer Sir John Herschel. According to The Sun, the lunar inhabitants included unicorns, bison, bipedal tail-less beavers, and intelligent humanoids with bat-like wings.
Life on the Moon is a full-length graphic novel capturing this mythical world. Creator Robert Grossman said the book is set in a time when “many of the signal achievements of the 19th Century still lay well in the future, Andrew Jackson was president, the steamboat was the summit of technology, and news traveled slowly.” The unfettered novel includes real historical figures such as P.T. Barnum, Jean Jacques Audubon, Lorenzo Da Ponte, Charles Goodyear, and Edgar Allan Poe.

MEN IN BLACK UNDERCOVER
Jay Cormier, Sen-Foong Lim (A) Dan Schoening
Aliens exist! In Men In Black: Undercover, you’ll join one of three groups: the Men In Black, who work to hide aliens, the Shadow Government, who seek to capture and weaponize aliens, and the Conspiracy Theorists, who try to expose alien life. Join a side and influence the aliens to join your cause, but don’t reveal your true intentions-you’ll need to stay Undercover to win!
3-6 players o Playable from ages 12+ o 30 minutes
•   Recruit various aliens to your faction’s cause by playing influence cards. •   Target unique aliens to gain advantages over other players in your own faction. •   Uncover your opponents’ faction affiliations while hiding your own.

TMNT ONGOING #94
Tom Waltz, Kevin Eastman (A/CVR A) Dave Wachter (CVR B) Kevin Eastman

SUNDAY SERMON 3-3-19
Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.Mark 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

NEW- Today [3-3-19] I hope to make and post a Sunday video- if so you can find them on 3 of my sites the same day I post- Facebook- YouTube and 1 drive [ also shared to my main blog- all links at the bottom of each post].
As most of you know- I’m some what of a web starter- so- the most recent one is VK [IGTV too].
Here’s a link- https://vk.com/id533663718
The site has been around for a while- it is the facebook of Russia [and Ukraine]- actually I have posted about their conflicts in the past and it just so happens that the most viewers are from there.
There have been some important news stories the past few weeks [Important? Yes- not what you are seeing 90 percent of the time from corporate media].
But I decided not to speak on them for now.
If I make a video today it will be on the verses for the Mass for this date [3-3-19]-
Ok- just wanted to do this brief update- introduce you to my newest site- it is actually doing quite well for the few days it has been up- and I had no idea that it also allows you to upload videos.
I have seen the share link before [it has different names- icons- as you see it from Youtube and other sites].
But when I ‘stumbled’ across it- to be honest- the quality is much better than Facebook- the video quality and search function is excellent.
I have learned over time that the best way to ‘learn’ all of this- is to simply do it.
Yes- like most things in life- you have to move ahead- or you will never really get any thing done.
Ok- going too long now- God bless you all- all of my friends from all of these sites.
I do love you and pray for you and see you as a part of this community-
John

 Past teaching-
Today I spoke on the verses from the Mass- Church Unlimited- and New Christian Harvest.
I already taught on Samuel 1- and will post that below.
 In Jeremiah we read-
Jeremiah 20:7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
Jeremiah 20:8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
The prophet had received a divine calling from God- to speak his word.
The message was not easy- and like most of us- he figured he would simply call it quits.
But then he realized- he couldn’t!
Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
That's why he said ‘You God-have tricked me’!
The gifts and callings of God our without repentance- meaning- once your in- there is no way out.
 Romans 11:29
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
In Matthew we see the rebuke of Peter by Jesus-
Matthew 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
Matthew 16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Peter was seeing the movement [of Jesus] as a great ministry- I mean he just told Peter he was the rock [His confession actually].
And yet now- because he is thinking in human terms- he is used by satan himself to tempt Jesus not to go thru with the mission.
The mission of the Cross that is.
Jesus warns his men the Cross- the death itself- is Indeed the key aspect of fulfilling your calling in God-
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
After all- what good is it if you accomplish all the earthly goals one could have- achieve all the desires of Hedonism- and in the end- you lose your soul?
Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
And the verses from Ephesians speak of the great blessings we have- those who have died with  Christ- and embraced the Cross-
Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Ephesians 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
We now have this great power of God working thru us as well- we have been raised together- with him-
Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Pastor Bil spoke on the good Samaritan-
Luke 10:30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Luke 10:31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Luke 10:32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
Luke 10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
Luke 10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Luke 10:35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
Jesus shows us that the Priest- and the law [Levi] could not save the man.
But one from outside the levitical priesthood did save the man-
New Living Translation What I mean is, our Lord came from the tribe of Judah, and Moses never mentioned priests coming from that tribe. Heb. 7:14
He not only paid the immediate debt- but also said ‘when I come back- I’ll pay any future debts incurred by the man’.
Yes- Jesus himself took our sins to the Cross- and as believers- if we fall along the way- he takes care of that debt as well-
John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
In short- that's briefly what I talked about on today’s video-
I’ll add my past teaching below- and the verses at the end of the post-
God bless all-
John

(882)1ST SAMUEL; INTRO, CHAPTER 1- Originally the books of 1st and 2nd Samuel were one volume. When the Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament was made [the Septuagint] they were added with 1st and 2nd Kings and were called ‘The books of the kingdoms’. In order to keep this volume from becoming too big, they were divided into the present divisions. In chapter one we see the family of Elkanah and Hannah [and wife #2 Pininnah!]. They go up to the Tabernacle of the Lord in Shiloh to worship the true God. Hannah has no children while wife # 2 does. This becomes a point of contention and jealousy between the two wives. Hannah pours her heart out to the Lord and makes a vow. She tells the Lord if he gives her a son that she will dedicate him to the Lord. Eli the priest sees Hannah praying silently [her lips moving but hearing no voice] and he assumes she’s drunk! Why? Was she stumbling and acting drunk? No. It was because he thought she was mumbling [speech] like a drunk. In Acts chapter 2 the same thing is assumed. Those who received the outpouring of the Spirit were thought to be drunk. Why? Were they stumbling and falling? No, once again it was a speech thing. They were speaking all types of unknown languages [known to the various groups there that day] and people thought they were acting like drunks when they can’t talk clearly. I emphasized this because it’s common today for renewal movements to associate the Spirit with people actually stumbling and driving in a drunken type state. While I don’t want to be dogmatic and say this can never be of God, yet many of these believers will use the Acts chapter 2 example to justify their belief. Act’s 2 does not teach ‘being drunk in the Spirit’ in this manner. Now the Lord hears Hannah’s request and she gives birth to Samuel. She keeps him until he is weaned [2 or 3 years old] and then she honors her vow and dedicates him to the Lord. She actually gave him up to become a full servant of God at Shiloh. It was not an easy vow to keep. As we go thru this book we will cover lots of interesting history. Samuel will become a mighty prophetic leader in Israel. He will be the one to introduce king Saul as Israel’s first king. The last verse in Judges says ‘there was no king in the land in those days, every man did what he thought was right in his own eyes’. It’s common to think this means God punished Israel for not having a human king. In actuality God will tell Israel that they were rejecting his kingship over them by wanting a ‘king like the other nations’. We will learn that God did not originally intend for Israel to have a singular human king. The description from judges simply shows us that sinful people, who reject God’s law, will go astray. In these instances a king can bring some sort of stability and government. The kings of Israel will serve in this capacity.
   VERSES-

Ephesians 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Ephesians 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Ephesians 1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Ephesians 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Ephesians 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Mark 8:27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?
Mark 8:28 And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.
Mark 8:29 And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
Mark 8:30 And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.
Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Mark 8:32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
Mark 8:33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mark 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Mark 8:37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
1Samuel 1:1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaimzophim, of mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite:
1Samuel 1:2 And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
1Samuel 1:3 And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there.
1Samuel 1:4 And when the time was that Elkanah offered, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions:
1Samuel 1:5 But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.
1Samuel 1:6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
1Samuel 1:7 And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.
1Samuel 1:8 Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?
1Samuel 1:9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.
1Samuel 1:10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.
1Samuel 1:11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
1Samuel 1:12 And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.
1Samuel 1:13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.
1Samuel 1:14 And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.
1Samuel 1:15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.
1Samuel 1:16 Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.
1Samuel 1:17 Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.
1Samuel 1:18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.
1Samuel 1:19 And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.
1Samuel 1:20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.
1Samuel 1:21 And the man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to offer unto the LORD the yearly sacrifice, and his vow.
1Samuel 1:22 But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.
1Samuel 1:23 And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.
1Samuel 1:24 And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the LORD in Shiloh: and the child was young.
1Samuel 1:25 And they slew a bullock, and brought the child to Eli.
1Samuel 1:26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.
1Samuel 1:27 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:
1Samuel 1:28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.
1Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
1Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Lectionary: 124
Reading 1
JER 20:7-9
You duped me, O LORD, and I let myself be duped; you were too strong for me, and you triumphed. All the day I am an object of laughter; everyone mocks me. Whenever I speak, I must cry out, violence and outrage is my message; the word of the LORD has brought me derision and reproach all the day. I say to myself, I will not mention him, I will speak in his name no more. But then it becomes like fire burning in my heart, imprisoned in my bones; I grow weary holding it in, I cannot endure it.
Responsorial Psalm
PS 63:2, 3-4, 5-6, 8-9
R. (2b) My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God. O God, you are my God whom I seek; for you my flesh pines and my soul thirsts like the earth, parched, lifeless and without water. R. My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God. Thus have I gazed toward you in the sanctuary to see your power and your glory, for your kindness is a greater good than life; my lips shall glorify you. R. My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God. Thus will I bless you while I live; lifting up my hands, I will call upon your name. As with the riches of a banquet shall my soul be satisfied, and with exultant lips my mouth shall praise you.  R. My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God. You are my help, and in the shadow of your wings I shout for joy. My soul clings fast to you; your right hand upholds me. R. My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God.
Reading 2
ROM 12:1-2
I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship.  Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
Alleluia
CF. EPH 1:17-18
R. Alleluia, alleluia. May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts, that we may know what is the hope that belongs to our call. R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel
MT 16:21-27
Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer greatly from the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.  Then Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him, "God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you."  He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me.  You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do." Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.  For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?  Or what can one give in exchange for his life?  For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father's glory, and then he will repay all according to his conduct."

It doesn’t matter if your preference is anime, blockbuster action, horror, up and coming artists, a chance to pick up rare items in the stalls or sitting in on the many panels that take place. The MCM London Comic Con has something for everybody and while it can be exhausting to see everything, a weekend ticket guarantees you’ll certainly be able to do most of what you want too.
We’ve been a few times and at this latest event we got to see it from a slightly different point of view thanks to our attendance as a member of the press. While we did get to take part in some awesome conference interviews with the likes of Kane Hodder, Linnea Quigley and Tony Todd we also took the time to check out the stands, events and amazing cosplayers. These are five things that we think made this Comic Con the best ever.
Art, Comics and The Creators
The MCM Comic Con always brings in some huge names within the world of art and comics with this year’s showcase being the likes of Frank Miller. However, the real draw for us are the lesser known artists and creators who are there to plug and sell their works. Take a wander through the stalls where you can find all manner of wonderful creations. Talk to the people behind them and help support their vision. This year we came across a number of unique stuff with special mention going to Afterlight Comics and Sarah Gordon.
The Signing Area
Even with the high-profile cancellation of Dave Bautista, the MCM London Comic Con managed to provide an incredible lit of guests for people to meet. From Avengers actors like Paul Bethany, Harry Potter/Game of Thrones actor David Bradley to horror icons like Tony Todd and Linnea Quigley. The main signing area had many, many entertainers for fans to meet and get signed pictures from. Most reasonably priced too! On a personal level getting to meet and talk to Chris Barrie (Rimmer from Red Dwarf) was special but Linnea Quigley is simply a legend to this horror fan. A woman whose role in Return of the Living Dead helped inspire the creation of Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life.
Cosplay
The imagination and effort that goes into the many of the attendee’s creations is truly staggering and you can spend hours walking around just admiring the different costumes and outfits. Most cosplayers are happy to take a photo or two as well, just remember to ask first! While there might have been a few too many Deadpool variations wandering around, there were many unique offerings and you can see some of them below.
The ‘For Everyone’ Feel
It’s a family friendly event but that’s not the only thing that makes the MCM Comic Con feel so special. No, it’s incredibly inclusive and everyone is welcome. It is not a place of hate, just a place for fans of the same stuff to come together and feel at home. MCM Comic Con is home for many.
The Panels and Events
It’s not all about wandering around and seeing what you find. The Comic Con also runs scheduled events and panels that you can attend. This year saw a wide variety of things taking place including; the Game of Thrones experience where you could check out some of the props used in the show and have your picture taken sitting on the Iron Throne. An exclusive screening of the new J.J. Abrams horror, Overlord. Play new and upcoming Nintendo Switch releases that included the new Super Smash Bros game. Or even stop and have a massage or maybe a tattoo! So much to do and see!
