The Butthole Surfers «Paul Leary and King Coffey appear on the latest episode of the Matador Revisionist History Podcast. In conversation with Matt Sweeney, they discuss the influence of the Meat Puppets and Run D.M.C., the Texas music scene with Dicks, Big Boys and others, early days on the road, run-ins with the fire department and much more.»
Paul Leary, Butthole Surfers, after a show at Uncle Sue-Sue's, June 1984, by me. I've always liked this photo because that looks like a headache smile. It makes me think of something someone once said about the music of Scratch Acid, who shared a few things with the Buttholes: "It sounds like you've been through an ordeal."
This robot was based off of a song by Paul Leary called "Born Stupid", the plan was to have many different stupid looking robots singing together in a broken down ship while humans laughed and threw beer bottles.
This rig was made entirely with Photoshop CS6, Blender, and photos I took with my phone, so things took a lot longer than they do now with my fancy new tools and resources. For now this goes into the freezer. (oh, and merry christmas)

Since Antero Alli had passed away from the earth plane at least, lately, and people like Austin Osman Spare, Paul Foster Case, drama play actors and seers, funsters and serious concept re-adapters have been in my mind in a way. But in a way behind the fat tension of "busy-ness." I'm no fan of that tension distraction.
I would owe it to C.S. Hyatt and R.A.W. and the whole crew, maybe Burroughs also, to try media collages in a more directed and otherwordly aspect.
Already having moved through the shlew of semi harmful critique and surviving it, it feels moreso encouraged to "go for it."
Thankfully there is plenty of footage to mess around with. And the actor can be the non-actor and the non-actor can be the medium or at least one to seek Temperance in finding it fun to "do it your own way."
If Intuition can be my friend again for now on out, and the "past self" can give innocent imaginative guidance to the present "adult" self, then the aspect to craft can be an intimated ride. Meanwhile, tune out those who don't value your heart or your daring. And be stronger and more confident against those who want everything the same always and who are afraid of an actual magic of the human being.
For Antero and those wonderful people who are friends in spirit in a way. Who feel more as soul creative types rather than bludgeoningly rote stales.
