And i had the epiphany that Paul dislikes his father, and therefore his last name, so why would he keep it. I could say spite, or making it something that he likes, but i decided that he would probably take Barry’s last name.

Familia Rebolledo 💥❤️

Bueno aquí tenemos a la otra familia de este universo.

Reggie y Maylen empezaron a ser novios a los 20 y 18 respectivamente, eran amigos de infancia así q al crecer empezaron a gustarse, cuando fue el tiempo de Sinnho donde Maylen tenía 16 y Reggie 18 fue q empezo a notarse más q ambos se gustaban, y en el cumpleaños número 18 de Maylen Reggie le pidió salir.

Paul y Zoey ambos pues tenía 14 años en Sinnho no se topaban de nada la verdad, pero al final de la serie donde cada uno fue a distintos caminos sin esperar se encontraron y decidieron probar viajar juntos, ambos se llevaron bien por q eran tranquilos ninguno interrumpía la privacidad del otro y casi sin hablar se entendían. A los 16 ellos pensaron en salir juntos como para probar realmente si podrían funcionar yyy bueno ya vemos q si funcionó jajaja Paul es realmente tierno con Zoey en privado pero en persona casi pensarías q no le da cariño, pero sin q ellos vean él ya le dio algún detalle como una flor, algo para el cuidado de sus pokemones, etc.

Maylen y Reggie a sus 20 y 22 se casaron y al año siguiente tuvieron a su primer hijo q curiosamente en ese año nació el primer hijo de Brook y Olivia también, a los 24 y 26 tuvieron a su segundo hijo y a los 26 y 28 tuvieron a su tercer hijo.

Paul y Zoey se casaron a los 20 y a los 23 tuvieron a su primogénito y a los 25 su segunda hija.

En la foto familiar Reggie y Maylen tienen 32 y 34, su hijo mayor 11,el del medio 8 y la última 6. Paul y Zoey 30 y su hijo mayor 7 y la menor 5.

I don’t know what to say. Just that it all started with this pair. I never even watched Pokémon past its first season, but I still stumbled upon the best fiction I’ve ever read because of it (which was published 6 years ago). Still my absolute favorite fanfic and, to this day, still remains unfinished. Wanting to visualize what I was reading pushed me to start doodling. Here I am now, paying a little tribute to the story (Heroes Grace) and its main characters. I’m currently re-reading all 55 chapters, which isn’t much, until you realize the chapters have chapters (do those even have names??). Anyways, this is Paul and Dawn, the most dynamic duo I’ve ever read of.

Heroes Grace is the most incredible thing I’ve ever read. Its character analysis and development blows my mind every time I read it. I have no more words to explain it. It’s mainly Ikarishipping but honestly it has all the main ships on there for just as much. That is all, thank you for reading.

Lizzie is, surprisingly, not a morning person at all. Getting her out of bed in the morning is a struggle, as she wants to sleep in as late as possible. And once she is awake (against her will) she’s the world’s biggest grouch. Dawn and Lizzie don’t really fight, but this is the one thing that they cannot get along over. Dawn doesn’t like Lizzie sleeping for half the day, and usually scolds her for staying up reading until 2 AM the night before. And Lizzie doesn’t like Dawn barging into her room dragging her out of bed.

At first Dawn will be sweet about it, but the more Lizzie ignores her the more irritable she becomes. Dawn is the type of mom who comes marching into Lizzie’s bedroom at noon, pulls the blinds open and rips Lizzie’s sheets off to force her to get up (after having told her to wake up five times previously). Lizzie isn’t really the shouting type, but she’s stubborn as all hell and will sternly argue with Dawn to leave her alone on this one thing. (Inwardly, Dawn knows it’s the Paul in her.)

Meanwhile, Paul just sits downstairs sipping his orange juice and reading his newspaper, listening to the two of them go back and forth with each other. Later, after Dawn has come marching downstairs and starts angrily cleaning the kitchen, Paul lowly says, “You kind of sound like your mother.” And Dawn just whips the wash rag she was using at his face.

Last Name Changes

We changed some last names for adults / kids. Mainly the kids who have last names of their parents english VA. Nothing against those who use that naming scheme, we just weren’t vibing with it anymore and wanted something else. There are some adults who’s names aren’t attached to kids who still have VA last names and they’ll be changed eventually but for now we were just focusing on the kids. These names include:

Rebolledo -> Ernest

Used for Paul, Reggie, Maylene and Io. We liked the idea that Paul’s name was the same as Lake Verity in the Japanese version. Both Ernest and Verity mean trust.

Griffith -> Gardner

Used for Cilan and Eclair. Cilan, Chili and, Cress are all named after spices so there’s a gardener harvesting all of them.

Rannells -> Grey

Used for Harley and Autumn. A couple reasons for this. Autumn likes to drink a lot of tea so it comes from Earl Grey tea. We were also considering having Harley be Melli some how. Melli comes from camellia which is also a type of tea so we thought that tied in nicely.

And most importantly Harley likes to make 50 Shades of Grey jokes saying that’s him. Obviously not to the children

These are the voices I usually try to imagine in my head whenever I read the manga! Some of these I came up with myself, others I just accepted after looking up videos of the same topic on YouTube. I also know most, if not all of these castings would be impossible, since some of the listed actors have aged out of the roles and others would not conceivably work for an anime.

Try these out whenever you next read the manga! And if you have any suggestions for voices you think fit better, feel free to tell me about it!

(Long post, so it’s under the cut!)

Red (Gen 1-2): Veronica Taylor (Original Ash Ketchum)

- Since they start out pretty similarly and are counterparts anyways, why not?

Red (Gen 3+): Bryce Papenbrook (Origins Red)

- I’m not a hardcore fan of the guy’s work, but he fits well enough and is easy to recall!

Blue (Gen 1-2): James Cathcart (Gary Oak)

- He definitely isn’t the best choice for his more edgy counterpart, so any generic shonen rival voice would also be just as good!

Blue (Gen 3+): Johnny Bosch (Origins Brock)

- Taken off a YouTube suggestion, I think this one’s pretty fitting!

Green (Gen 1-2): Tara Strong (Kitten Walker- Teen Titans)

- I think this one fits very well with Green’s cheeky and flirty personality!

Green (Gen 3+): Michelle Knotz (May- Pokemon AG)

- I feel Green could keep Tara Strong as her voice actress throughout, but I included this for equality in case anyone wanted to see!

Yellow: Laura Bailey (Maka Albarn- Soul Eater)

- Another YouTube suggestion which really impressed me! Laura has a lot of range, which is needed to play Yellow!

Gold (Gen 2-3): Maddie Blaustein (AJ- Pokemon episode 8)

- While his accent was a bit much, I like him as a spunky counterpart to Ash! Any better versions of a similar character would be appreciated!

EDIT: Now that I think about it, Ben Schwartz would actually be a good choice for Gold!

Gold (Gen 4+): Scott McCord (Dan Kuso- Bakugan)

- (YouTube suggestion) There’s probably many other voices that’d fit here too!

Silver: Julian Rebolledo (Paul- Pokemon DP)

- Any super-edgy anime guy would fit (I saw Sasuke as one suggestion and agreed), but I’m going with the closest existing Pokemon comparison!

Crystal: Janice Kawaye (XJ9, Ami Onuki, etc)

- I think Janice’s peppy voice and strong “voice of reason” tone would be perfect for Crystal!

Ruby (Gen 3): Scott Menville (Robin- Teen Titans)

- Scott’s capability of playing both a campy loon (Er... thanks, TTG?) and a young badass was what really motivated me to choose him!

Ruby (Gen 6+): Todd Haberkorn (Hikaru- Ouran Host Club)

- While I still think Scott could voice Ruby all the way, the many occurrences of Todd on other people’s list and the voice clips they provided convinced me to begrudgingly put him here for his sheer skill.

Sapphire: Carolyn Richards (Sandy Cheeks, Cindy Vortex, etc)

- I think she would pull off Sapphire’s tough attitude, southern (?) accent and semi-tsundere nature based on the two roles listed above!

Emerald: Tara Strong (Ben Tennyson- Ben 10)

- Maybe I’m biased because he also has the green and #10 motif, but I think Ben 10′s voice would be a perfect for a spunky little kid like Emerald! I don’t think most usual anime dub voices would fit him very well otherwise...

Diamond: Zach Eisen (Avatar Aang)

- For a pure boi like Diamond, I think he’d 100% need an actual kid actor voicing him. And for ease of imagination, the rest of the Sinnoh Trio’s voices will also line up with the Gaang’s, because they actually fit quite well!

Pearl: Jack DeSena (Sokka)

- Barry’s voice also fits really well since the two are almost identical characters, but this works pretty well, too!

Platinum: Mae Whitman (Katara, many other roles)

- I think Mae Whitman’s impressive repertoire of wise and strong girl characters speaks for itself. For more anime-oriented folks, I’ve also seen the great Christina Vee on other people’s suggestions!

Black: Michael Reisz (Takuya- Digimon Frontier)

- For the longest time I imagined Black played by Yuri Lowenthal, but when I saw Michael’s voice clips from a YouTube suggestion, they immediately won me over!

White: “Miss Paradox Space” (White, PokeSpe BW Fandub)

- While certainly not the most professional actress on this list, hearing her in the YouTube fandub series for the manga was a great pleasure! She has a very unique voice that fits the role very well! If you know a similar and better actress, make sure to tell me about her!

Blake: Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke Uchiha, teen Ben Tennyson, Mercury Black, etc)

- Similar to Scott Menville as Ruby but more adult, Yuri has the range of playing both a badass and a dweeb (for Blake’s campy playboy facade.)

Whitley: Haven Paschall (Serena- Pokemon XY)

- Haven’s amazing skill at conveying “sweet anime girl experiencing despair” was what led me to choose her for this role!

X: Mike Erwin (Speedy- Teen Titans)

- I know there are many roles that fit better than this, so let me hear them! Personally I never liked that X and Y were aged down for the manga, so my choice here might be a bit biased.

Y: Ashley Johnson (Ellie- The Last of Us, many many other roles)

- One of the best tough girl voices for one of the toughest Dex Holders!

Sun: Jacob Hopkins (Original Gumball Watterson)

- It was super-tough deciding whether or not to give Sun a kid actor or not (I was dead-set on Ben Schwartz for a while) but I think this probably fits? Gumball’s personality of a well-meaning kid with a slightly askew moral compass should work well for Sun! Any better suggestions?

Moon: Kimiko Glenn (Peni Parker, Lena DeSpell, etc)

- Kimiko’s voice really fits a friendly and composed yet badass girl like Moon!

#80: "You owe me."

A shrill ring broke the silence that occupied the Rebolledo house. Lizzie and Paul both jumped in alarm, looking up from their respective books to the source of the noise. The screen of the telephone laying on the coffee table was lit up, and they both cringed at the name printed across it.

‘Berlitz, Johanna’

Neither of them made the effort to lean forward and pick up the phone. Neither of them wanted to. After all, answering the phone would only lead to a thirty-minute-long conversation neither of them desired to have in the first place.

Lizzie and Paul exchanged understanding looks with one another—a silent agreement between them both that it was better to let it ring. After all, Johanna wasn’t calling to speak with them. She was calling to speak with—

“Hey, can one of you get that?” Dawn called from the room over. “I have my hands tied with this dress.”

Dawn had no idea what she had just done.

The tension that filled the space between Lizzie and Paul could have been cut with a knife. The way they saw it, they had two options—answer the phone and endure a painfully dragged-out conversation with a woman who asked such tedious questions as, ‘how they were doing’, or let the phone ring and endure Dawn’s wrath after.

As tempting as the second option sounded, they knew what actually had to be done. The real question was who would do it? They were stuck in a dead-lock—two sets of unwavering gray eyes refusing to falter. This was a battle neither of them wanted to lose.

“Paul! Lizzie!” Dawn snapped, her voice dripping with irritation. “Can you please answer the phone?”

There was no time left. One more ring and the call would go to voicemail. Finally, Lizzie broke and Paul’s brows raised in surprise as she reluctantly grasped the phone on the coffee table. But before pressing the button to accept the call, Lizzie cast her father a silent look that spoke for her loud and clear.

‘You owe me.’

And just like that, Lizzie rose from her seat and lifted the receiver to her ear. Her voice was tired and strained. “Hi, Grandma…”

As Lizzie made her exit from the room, Paul allowed himself to relax knowing a better portion of his afternoon wouldn’t be spent having mundane conversation with Dawn’s mother. He closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair.

He really did owe one to his daughter.
