💕 thoughts on parenting/being a parent?

he thinks out of everything he's ever done in his life being a parent is the hardest and most rewarding thing he's ever done. i think it brings him great joy to be able to nurture his children into adulthood and he just loooves being able to instill curiosity & passion in them. like don't get me wrong he's probably been accidentally set on fire enough times over the years to have been like hey why did i want this so badly again. and it's definitely something where he thinks you need to be prepared for children and if you are not prepared then you are doing that child a disservice but he loooves being a parent he loves his kids he loves teaching them and also lying to them for fun and for sport <3

👌 do they think they are/would be a good parent?

i think pre-children the latent thought in alas' mind is that he'd be a good parent because 1) he had good parents so he has good role models 2) he's a big brother to some significantly younger siblings so he kiiiind of got a trial run so he's like yeah i'd be a good dad :) yeah i'm dilf material ;) yeah. and then for like 2 months before felix is born and like 3 months afterward he is in the trenches like I AM GOING TO DESTROY THIS TINY BEING'S LIFE. I AM GOING TO FUCK THIS UP IMMEASURABLY. OH MY GOD HE'S GOING TO HATE ME FOREVER. and then he evens out again when he realizes he's doing fine and felix has not died in the first three months of his life and he hasn't even dropped him once which means he's doing better than his parents <3

"present" day (thinking with all the kids existing at some vague age) he's back to thinking he's a good dad and that he's done a good job so far, because that's probably what he hears from the kids anyway. especially because he might be a little too indulgent and might let them get away with a little too much...... he just loves his kids man :')

🍳 what kind of family gatherings do they prefer? why?

FEASTS............. listen this is a man who wholeheartedly believes in the power of connection via food and who loooves to cook with his family and cook for his family and stand around with good food and good company and talk shit and dance and just EXIST with the people he loves. i think the more informal for him the better. it's definitely a requirement in the pavelloran household that they have to cook & eat dinner together at LEAST once a week because cooking is part of the experience like it wouldn't be the same if he and arihs weren't arguing over the best way to season some stew or whatever and confusing the fuck out of the twins in the process like that's how you BOND !!!! he just loves a casual excuse to hang out you know like there doesn't HAVE to be an occasion he just likes good food + good people + annoying his children and being silly with his husbands <3
