I was wondering- with the clans more advanced nature and ability to deal with more serious conditions, how would a clan deal with a cat who had been declawed? Would they try and change some things to make things like hunting more accessible for that cat, and if so, what would they do? Would they use something like a clawed gauntlet or claw implants?
Absolutely adore your content by the way
Being declawed is a very serious disability for a Clan cat to have. "Accommodation" for a cat that is declawed is completely concerned with reducing the serious pain that this procedure would put them in; there is almost no way to help make hunting more accessible.
Just to repeat that; Declawing is a disability for a Clan cat. I'll be treating it as such.
I'm gonna be using a medical diagram below the cut to show you the problem!! So TW: DECLAWING IS A FINGER AMPUTATION, please do not hit "read more" if seeing anatomy and hearing of a cat in pain would upset you!
Tumblr media
[ID: A diagram of cat paw anatomy, showing how a cat's claw is like a "shoe" around the end of a bone and displaying how the muscles connect.]
"Declawing" means removing a weight-bearing bone from the foot of the animal. The final digit of the finger is meant to be in-contact with the ground. For a crude analogy, imagine if someone removed a bone from your foot and made you walk on your tibia and heel-meat.
So from the VERY offset, a declawed cat in the wild would not be able to patrol very far without pain. In addition, they don't have a way to "grab" things anymore. Bringing this cat on a hunting patrol would be unhelpful at best and actively destructive at worst. They can't hunt, not enough to "pull their weight".
Gloves don't fix this, and there is no claw to put an extender on. BB!Cats have slightly beefier hand anatomy than irl cats, but they only have TWO digits. Declawing reduces them to just one.
Quick drawing;
Tumblr media
A declawed paw is not a hand that can hold a struggling animal; they don't even have the digit to make a good pincer grasp. Hunting is so hard it's nearly impossible.
For the cat's health, so they can enjoy their Clan's territory as is their right, they might want to make "shoes," or, crude booties. Unlike humans, cats don't have a "wrist" that a glove can easily rest on, so shoes would need to be tied to the leg.
Tumblr media
[ID: A cat wearing booties. Note the straps above the paw.]
This could be made out of leather or flax, with some sort of sole for padding. This is an accessibility device, though, so keep in mind this is something you'd need a craftsman like BB!Jessy for.
So generally, a declawed cat is the type that spends a lot of time in camp! With a little extra time, it's possible to modify the tools that Kitchen Patrol uses for this individual. A spoon's handle can be curled so it rests on the wrist. Instead of skinning an animal with claws, they could fasten a knife to the paw.
Tumblr media
[ID: BB!Cat paws drawn with the accessibility tools mentioned above.]
So, if the cat enjoys helping out around camp, there's still ways that they can contribute if they would like to.
And lastly, Clan cats think this is the ultimate symbol of human cruelty. Sharpening one's claws (karrurrska) is EXTREMELY important to the mental health of a cat. It feels good, it exercises your whole arm to get up there and sccrrraaaatch, there's tendons, bones, and scent glands on that final digit.
Hearing that a kittypet has been declawed is evil to Clan cats. Beyond mwyrgna. The cuckoo kills its kin to get more food from its parents, the rat kills its young out of fear. What purpose could humans possibly have to mutilate a cat like this, besides delight in seeing them suffer?
It's the kind of concept that would invoke a lot of emotion out of Clan cats.

well! i wasnt expecting this-
I wrote a little snippit for this that I'll put it under the cut, I'm so upset over them you have no idea
despite the war between Lucentclan and Fernclan being over, Newtstar decides that he, Pepperflare, and Violethope will go patrol the borders one last time before the sun goes down. They don't realize the scent of rain or the clouds forming in the distance, as they're crossing the beach, rain begins falling heavily and weighing down their pelts.
"Newtstar!" Pepperflare calls over the now howling wind, anxiety pricking in her paws as the rain brings back unwanted memories of Sablepaw being washed away in a flood four moons ago. "We should really go back to camp! I don't have a good feeling about this."
Newtstars ears flick in acknowledgement, "we need to be sure that Fernclan isn't up to anything. I won't lose anymore cats to those fox-hearts!" He argues back, claws digging into the sand as he thinks of their previous medicine cat, Rippleclaw.
"No sane cat will be out in this weather!" Pepperflare insists, "Especially Fernclan cats! They hate water!"
"I agree with Pepp-" Violethope begins, her meow quickly cut off by a deafening crash and flash of lightning. In the distance, the sound of trees cracking and breaking echo down the mountains.
All three clancats freeze, heads snapping to the horizon where they see a massive wave of water quickly making its way down the hill, rocks, trees, and other natural debris coming along with it. The clancats barely have time to process what was happening before the water reaches them and sweeps them off their paws and into the unforgiving ocean. Their lungs fill with freezing saltwater as they cry out for starclan to save them to no avail.
Newtstar is the first to open his eyes, the yellow a sharp contrast to the darkness around him. Stars now shine in his pelt, and reflect in his eyes as he takes in the vaguely familiar area. He had been here when he lost his first life protecting his clan from a dog the same moon Rippleclaw had been found dead on Fernclans border. It had been nice to see the tom again to be assured that he wouldn't be alone, their starclan guide, and Newtstars own kin, Shardfoam being there to keep him company.
He sits and sighs, watching the water drip from is glimmering pelt and dissappear into the stars beneath his paws. He couldn't help but feel as if he had let his clan down.
Pepperflare and Violethope join him soon, appearing with splashes of salt water and gasping breaths that didn't take any oxygen. The she-cats meet eyes for a moment, confused as they look towards their leader.
They realize the stars at the same time, dismay filling them. Quietly, they step forward to sit beside their leader in quiet mourning.
"I'm sorry it had to be this way," A familiar voice says, a cream tabby tom stepping into sight. Sympathy reflecting in his grey eyes as he looks at the warriors. Beside the medicine cat is a younger spotted gray apprentice, Sablepaw, who is looking at them with the same sympathetic look.
"Rippleclaw! Sablepaw!" Newstar cries, standing. "Whats going on? We can't actually be dead, right? What about my other seven lives?" The words tumble out of his mouth before he can stop them, needing answers. Beside him, Pepperflare tries to speak but just hacks up a mouthful of water. Violethope remains quiet.
Rippleclaw sighs, "Unfortunately there was no way for starclan to bring your body back, it was washed too far out to sea for it to be possible." He steps to the side, the area behind him now streching out into a vast area, stars littering ground. This was starclans hunting grounds. The medicine cat dips his head, tears in his eyes as his friends try to process their deaths, "Welcome to starclan, my friends. Here you can watch over and guide Lucentclan."
Down below the sky, Quailcall sits outside the medicine den, blue eyes watching the entrance of the camp. It's been far too long since the patrol had left, and the elder was starting to get a bad feeling. He looks up at the dark clouds as it stormed and shakes out his pelt before standing and turning to enter the den.
Sparkfire lays in a nest against the far wall, curled up tightly as she sleeps through the infection in her wounds. The she-cat twitches and whimpers in her sleep, shifting slightly. The tom silently makes his way to sit beside the nest, watching the slow rise and fall of Sparkfires back, half expecting it to stop at any moment.
Quailcall looks towards the entrance of the den once more, dread filling his belly. "Starclan help us." He says quietly before curling up close to the deputy and shuts his eyes in an attempt to sleep until the patrol returns.
sorry for the short fic but i wanted to write for this moon soo bad and got carried away.
What will Sparkfire and Quailcall do now?

AU where I give the DRDT cast original talents (plus my reasons for these talents)
Teruko Tawaki, the Ultimate Police Officer
(NGL: In addition to my theory of Wolfgang Akire getting a Teruko arc and my mental association between Teruko and Tsurugi Kinjo, the other reason I made Teruko a police officer was because of a Paw Patrol DRDT AU that had Chase as Teruko.)
Xander Matthews, the Ultimate Graphic Novelist
(He'd honestly write some pretty awesome graphic novels, probably centering around awesome adventures of rebellion and vigilantism.)
Eden Tobisa, the Ultimate Petsitter
(I only really gave her this talent due to that one remark she made in the prologue: "Do you think I walk dogs, silly?")
Hu Jing, the Ultimate Kickboxer
(I just love the mental image of a buff yet still chubby Hu who can and will beat someone up.)
J Moreno, the Ultimate Chess Grandmaster
(Just have the Rosales be a high-grade military family with J being groomed to be their best military strategist, only for her to just want to chill and play chess.)
Veronika Grebenshikova, the Ultimate Dollmaker
(She just has "dollmaker"/Jane Doe from "Ride the Cyclone" vibes.)
David Chiem, the Ultimate Part-Time Worker
(Customer service voice. Can also swap the XanVid dynamic by having David be a massive fan of Xander's graphic novels.)
Arturo Giles, the Ultimate Caterer
(Spending his whole life catering to and being surrounded by celebrities? That is Arturo's dream. Would cook the most elaborate and expensive dishes ever.)
Levi Fontana, the Ultimate Undertaker
(Maybe the indifference that comes from years of dealing with dead bodies could tie into both Levi's struggles with being seen as "heartless", despite wanting to be helpful, and Levi's friendship with the talentswapped Ace.)
Ace Markey, the Ultimate Paranormal Investigator
(A cowardly yet competent paranormal investigator is a character prompt that's too much comic gold to pass up. Also, see Levi's prompt above.)
Min Jeung, the Ultimate Archer
(I decided to swap Min's academic talent for an athletic talent, and found that archery would fit the focused and stoic Min. Also, Mafuyu Asahina.)
Whit Young, the Ultimate Model
(It's the Adrien Agreste energy. Also based around my theory that Kai and Diana would act like Whit figures for Damon, and decided to give Whit a talent that combines both Kai and Diana's talents.)
Charles Cuevas, the Ultimate Debater
(It's the Damon Maitsu energy.)
Arei Nageishi, the Ultimate News Reporter
(What better way to ruin people's lives then to dig up dirt on them and then put them on blast, on national television?)
Nico Hakobyan, the Ultimate Robotics Engineer
(Just swap out their love and understanding for animals with a love and understanding towards machines. Possible Entrapta kin.)
Rose Lacroix, the Ultimate Street Performer
(She would most likely take up busking, in order to support her family. I could easily picture her pulling multiple party tricks out of nowhere, wowing everybody around her.)

A tiny little update on pray to the hunters?
Maybe a flashback to the first time Alec succesfully called the weapons to him?
Thank you my friend. (Also i just read Nightshade got into a fight with a bee, i hope he is okay now and give him many cuddles from his fans😁)
here we go! little alec figuring out his path in life!
it's not quite the weapons but its the first time alec reaches out and it opens the path for him
aw thank you!!! i am giving them to him and he is a sad little pupper with droopy eyes going 'i need more cuddles and treats i feel awful'
he is doing much better! besides stopping to try and guard from every flying insect when he goes outside to potty. he also tried to drag me away from a bee because 'oh no! an attack! run baba run!'
he loves cuddles though so i assure you he's very appreciative. sometimes he just lays inbetween saeth and i with all four paws in the air snoring and he only wakes up to grumble in protest if one of us hasn't petted him recently enough
<3 hope you enjoy
lumine
pray to the hunters
— Alec hides in the embrace of a stone angel, curled into the cracking base and tucked under a veil of weeds as he sits and waits. The nephilim searching for him pass him by not once, but three times and even as they use tracking runes, they’re unable to find him.
Alec gives a silent, grateful prayer, not to Raziel but to the dead shadowhunters of his line who must be protecting him.
Raziel is an absent sire and all know that he is far too busy to waste his time on the broken hearts of his children. Alec wonders if it would be different, if any of his dead kin would speak softly to him or help him tend his wounds.
What cuts the deepest is the harsh disregard of both his parents and the responsibilities they continue to place on his shoulders. Alec knows the burden he bears is an honorable one, but that doesn’t change the fact that sometimes he feels his spine crumpling beneath the weight, rather than growing like it should.
His blood mixes with the gravedirt as another patrol passes by and Alec holds his breath until he’s almost dizzy with it, desperation in every line of his body because it’s too much, too soon.
Alec’s only just born his first rune and his parents think that means he’s now a full fledged shadowhunter. Reprimanding him when he can’t keep up with older hunters twice or nearly three times his own age. It’s gotten to the point where even the hunters who loathe his family are starting to send Alec sympathetic looks.
Alec hates them all the more because nothing has truly changed. The only thing different is that his parents are being more obvious about it, since not a single hunter is going to speak up for a Lightwood.
Not even one young enough to not bear runes.
It makes Alec hate them. All of them.
His parents and the hunters and Alec is proud of who he is but he hates who he’s becomming when hammered and filed till bits and pieces of him are breaking off so his parents can forge him into what they want.
A whisper starts up in the wind and Alec shudders without knowing why. He’s not cold — even as his breath crystallizes in the air — he feels content and relaxes, the pressure fading as his heartbeat slows and his blood pumps sluggishly in his veins.
There is something powerful about it, the balm to Alec’s many open wounds and Alec feels the most gentle embrace he’s ever felt, as cold, bony fingers harshly cup his heart.
“Please.” Alec murmurs tiredly as he falls asleep without really knowing why and when he wakes up, there is a strange rune shining silver on his forehead.
No one else seems to be able to see it, but there is a wariness that Alec is treated with that he prefers far more to the recent sympathy.
For once luck is in his favor and his parents are both called to Idris before they can find and discipline him for ‘failing to complete all his training’ the day before. Alec could probably make it up, go and throw himself into training until the hunters who let the Lightwood name be all they see beat him to the ground.
That’s normally enough for his parents, but Alec doesn’t want that. He wants to know what happened, the strange connection that feels more like home than anything other than the Institute’s core ever has.
It’s with soft, purposeful footsteps that Alec lets himself into the deepest and most obscure of the Institute’s archives. A place where traditions have been left to gather dust and be forgotten and Alec, well… he’s going to find and remember them all.

Snowbird! Her first appearance is in the Power of Three arc, as an expecting queen who takes care of Tawnypelt's litter while she goes to the mountains during Outcast. She babysits again in Eclipse, when the battle of the eclipse occurs. She next appears in Omen of the stars raising her first litter, who were Cloverfoot, Berryheart and Buster (who was previously Rippletail). She is also seen briefly at a gathering in which she sits next to and gossips with Redwillow, who she fights in the Great Battle after saving her brother Ratscar from the Dark Forest warriors saying that the Warrior Code is more important than any cat's life. She has another Litter by the Vision of Shadows arc, which included Yarrowleaf, Beenose, and Bluebellkit. She is absorbed into the Kin when they take over Shadowclan and has her third litter, Frondwhisker, Gullswoop, and Conefoot, but doesn't appreciate the way that the Kin operates and flees with her kits to Thunderclan, where she befriends Cinderheart and Blossomfall. She rejoins Skyclan first, where she begs Leafstar to allow Yarrowleaf to return to clan territory to have her kits, and gains a grudge when Leafstar refuses. She helps Juniperclaw by distracting skyclan while he poisoned their fresh kill, but her involvement is never addressed critically. In the Broken Code all her children are now warriors. While out on a patrol she slips and breaks her front paw, Which Shadowsight heals, but she still has a limp. She is a warrior still in the Starless Clan, and does normal warrior duties.

okay i also absolutely love the idea of otterslip just.. patiently waiting for fallenclan to realize he's right. perhaps he even lurks around the borders, waiting for his friends and kin, shadowing them across the territory (in his own way, he's still protecting them) but never interacting with them.
also i definitely think silverbelly would be scared to leave camp by herself after the Incident where otterslip attempts to attack her. i mean, this man literally murdered her brother, and for all she knows, he's still out there!!
also expect me to frequently (and randomly) change the way i write asks (i'm adjusting to tumblr - i'm here solely for this blog bc fallenclan has given me brainrot). i was also the one who suggested the celia/golden/morning/sun polycule lmao
-🐉
yesss you are so right,,,,, i bet Applebranch works twice as hard to learn some battle moves she can do with only 1 front paw so that she can protect her wife. i often send them out on herb gathering patrols together so maybe that's why,,

A Vision of Shadows WQAU
Tumblr media
(Click for higher quality)
You guys voted on a post about these little losers so here is the breakdown of their dynamics and the first two books of WQAU AVoS.
To get it out of the way, AVoS has now been broken up into three chunks and is completely restructured, with a new protagonist each chunk. The first two books are about the journey to find Skyclan, from Alderpaw's PoV, the third and fourth focus on the rebellion of young cats in Shadowclan, from Violetkit/paw's PoV, and the final two are about Darktail and The Kin, from Twigpaw/shade's PoV.
SO let's get into it. Also warning, this post is very long lmao.
When the Medicine Cats receive the prophecy of "A time of great change is coming for all the Clans. Embrace what you find in the shadows, for only they can clear the sky", one of the Shadowclan medicine cat, Ryegrass, catches the scent of a Shadowclan cat and sees a white-tipped tail disappearing into the fog, but she is unable to tell who it could be before the cat is gone.
Alderkit and Sparkkit recieve their apprentices names, Alderpaw is the medicine cat apprentice under Grassheart and Littlecloud, and Sparkpaw is given to Cloverfoot.
While sleeping in his den a few nights after being apprenticed, Alderpaw receives the same prophecy that the other medicine cats did and a much more direct statement about what needs to be done by a mysterious tabby tom. He immediately goes to tell Ryegrass, but he runs into Sparkpaw as she's waking up for the dawn patrol and she manages to weasel the information out of him. Before he can go to his mentor to talk about his vision, Sparkpaw rushes him to see Russetstar.
Russetstar is really strict when it comes to the warrior code, she believes things are fine as they are among the clans and makes no allowances when someone is caught breaking the rules. So when Alderpaw comes to her talking about a fifth clan that needs to be brought to the lake, she dismisses it and tells him that Starclan will lead Skyclan if they're really supposed to be with the other clans.
Later in his den, Alderpaw gets the same visions again, but more intense this time. He runs out of the camp in panic and tries to calm himself down with a walk through the pines, but Sparkpaw follows him and she tells him that if they don't go to find Skyclan, then who will? Before Alderpaw can prossess everything, Sparkpaw is already running off towards Thunderclan territory, telling him to catch up.
Alderpaw and Sparkpaw are caught by a moonhigh hunting patrol and taken to Thunderclan camp. Alderpaw is on the verge of a panic attack, but Sparkpaw doesn't seem to notice and is trying to figure out how they can get out and continue on their quest. Pouncekit and Bristlekit overhear Sparkpaw and say they'll help them sneak out of camp but only if they can come too. Alderpaw is really against this idea and tries to convince Sparkpaw to just let it go and that they'll try again some other time, but Sparkpaw doesn't listen and tells the kits to lead the way.
After sneaking out of Thunderclan's camp, the group of young cats travels on towards the horseplace and beyond the Thunderpath, and here is where I'd like to get into each of the groups personalities.
Sparkpaw is very brash, headstrong, confident, and she does what she thinks is right as soon as she thinks it. Sparkpaw is a bit oblivious to other people's emotions and tends to act on what she thinks other people want without asking them. She is probably the fastest in the group and is the only one with any form of battle and hunting training, even if it's just a bit, so she takes on the leadership role naturally and loves teaching Pouncekit and Bristlekit how to be warriors. Sparkpaw gets a bit miffed that Bristlekit is stronger than her despite being two moons younger and still a kitten, but she tries really hard not to make it obvious (you can totally tell she hates that she isn't the strongest).
Alderpaw is the opposite of his sister, he's meek, quiet, and a massive doormat, especially when it comes to Sparkpaw. He doesn't know how to talk to cats around him and he suffers from frequent anxiety attacks. His mentor Ryegrass started giving him thyme to help with his anxiety as a kit but he doesn't have access to it while on the quest, and feels horrible for "slowing the group down". Like his sister, Alderpaw has a strong sense of justice, but acts on it in a much less forward way to Sparkpaw.
Pouncekit is trying her best. She struggles a lot as a clan cat, she doesn't catch onto social cues easily, struggles a lot with more advanced thing for warrior cats (counting/maths, tracking the moon/stars/seasons, remembering clan history, etc.), and just generally feels frustrated with how easy the other cats in Thunderclan make those things seem. She's inexperienced in the world outside of Thunderclan camp but she has a knack for hunting and terrain memorization and catches on very quick just after a lesson or two with the (practically) untrained Sparkpaw. She's also very dramatic, overexaggerating everything that affects her to the point of verging on being a pathological liar.
And Bristlekit is the most suprisingly competent cat in the group. She's responsible and always tries to see all possibilities to a situation before solving it, often making her a slow problem solver unlike the more spontaneous Sparkpaw. She's ambitious and is also the physically biggest and strongest cat out of the group. Bristlekit is very conscious of other people's opinions and is quick to change her mind if it she thinks other cats will like her more for it. She's selfless and noble, even for a kit, and will jump infront of a fox to save someone she hates.
SO back to the actual story. After travelling out of clan territory and arriving in Twolegplace, Alderpaw feels a presence join them, and he starts seeing flickers of the tabby tom out of the corner of his eye.
The group settles in Twolegplace, and Alderpaw is visited by the dark brown tom in his dreams, he calls himself Spiderstar and he tells Alderheart that he will be his guide to find Skyclan.
The group continues through Twolegplace, stopping every day or so to let Alderpaw talk to Spiderstar. The journey is mostly as uneventful to be honest, just a few kittypet encounters here and there.
When the group finally reaches the gorge after over a moon of travelling, they find Skyclan, led by Leafstar, and they tell her and their medicine cats about the prophecy to bring Skyclan to the lake where they belong. Leafstar is against this, saying that SkyClan has been fine on their own for years and that leaving now could ruin everything Firestar helped them put together.
Leafstar and her pregnant deputy, Pebblewing, grant them permission to stay in camp for a few days to regain their strength. After about 2 or 3 days, Bristlekit realizes that since they've finally found Skyclan, they deserve their apprentice's names, and so she and Pouncekit change their suffixes to -paw and go out of camp for a celebratory hunt to honor the occasion.
After catching a pheasant, they return to the Skyclan camp, due to a storm staring to brew, but they are followed. The new apprentices return to Skyclan camp with their catch and the other cats celebrate their apprenticeship alongside them.
Just as cats start retiring to their dens to hide from the rain, a group of rouges attack. Chaos breaks out, blood and fur are flying everywhere and Alderpaw quickly scrambles to Sparkpaw, Pouncepaw, and Bristlepaw to try and get away out of the battle. As they sprint out of camp Pebblewing yowls for a medicine cat and announces she's kitting. Alderpaw and Bristlepaw support her between them, running out into Twoleg fields, desperately looking for somewhere safe from the rain and rouges.
The apprentices rush Pebblewing into a sheltered divot in the ground surrounded by rocks, and Alderpaw helps deliver her kits. Before Pebblewing can regain her strength enough to give them their names, a swell of water from the flooded river fills the hole. She is swept away by the river, leaving her unnamed kits in the paws of the apprentices.
Sparkpaw gathers the group and they run for a tree near the thunderpath, hoping to find shelter.
But they are attacked again. Leafstar's daughter, Firefern, leaps onto Bristlepaw screaming that her mother is dead and it's all Bristlepaw's fault for leading those rouges into camp. Pouncepaw jumps onto Firefern, clawing at her and yowling at her to stay away from her sister.
Firefern flips Pouncepaw onto the ground and bites her through the throat, leaving her limp in the rain covered grass. Alderpaw and Sparkpaw rush to attack Firefern as Bristlefrost tries to help her sister.
As Pouncepaw lays dying, Bristlepaw frantically tries to stop the bleeding, doing everything she can to help her sister. But Pouncepaw is already too far gone, as she stares into the stars, she asks Bristlepaw if she thinks Starclan will give her a nice warrior name, something pretty like Pouncedove. Bristlepaw is screaming at Pouncepaw, begging her to stay with her, to stop acting like it's all over. The light in Pouncepaw's eyes go dull and Bristlepaw feels a piece of her heart wither and die right there.
Bristlepaw turns to Alderpaw and Sparkpaw, still fighting Firefern, and jumps into the fight. Firefern is lying dead in a pool of her own blood before she could even turn to face Bristlepaw.
After Sparkpaw and Alderpaw bury Pouncepaw, they let Bristlepaw say her goodbyes before they start their journey back to the lake. They're all numb after the death of Pouncepaw, Bristlefrost barely eats in the half-moon it takes them to retrace their steps home.
As the trio completes their journey around the pebbled shore of the lake towards their clans, Bristlepaw can't bring herself to say goodbye to the only constants in her life for the past two moons, she turns at the edge of Thunderclan territory and dissapears into the forest before she has to admit that it's all over.
Sparkpaw and Alderpaw continue to Shadowclan, thin and miserable, with Violetkit and Twigkit in their jaws. They're found by a border patrol and taken back to camp, Tawnyclaw and Squirrelflight almost smothering them when they realize their kits are alive.
Alderpaw lies in his nest for the first time in moons and wonders if it was even worth it, if Skyclan had even come to the lake, would Pouncepaw be there to see it with them? When Pouncepaw looks down from Starclan, if she was even close enough to their ancestors to reach the endless hunting ground, would she be proud of him?
Alderpaw doesn't sleep well that night, and he doesn't know if he ever will again.
Ok so that is AVoS part one! This took ages to make so the next two parts may take a while lmao. I was originally going to kill Bris, but you guys voted on her staying alive (for now...) so Pouncepaw ended up being the next choice ^^!

Clan Kingdoms - Discussions on Kin
A sweet drabble I've been sitting on and debating posting for a bit, SilverFire and Bluestar and Fireheart bonding.
Fireheart fought not to shake at the sensation of the honeyflower and oak leaves woven into his pelt, knowing that if Bluestar found out he pulled the irritating leaves from his fur before he left his meeting she’d lecture him about presentation of Leaderkin… again. He’d had enough lectures in recent days. At least the lavender he held carefully in his jaws, plucked from the edge of Windclan territory to the amusement of the observing patrol on the moor, a smiling Deadfoot giving him a knowing smirk. Flanking him as he trotted towards the Sunningrocks were Runningwind and Mousefur, the twins bickering good naturedly in a way that soothed most of his anxiety about meeting the Riverclan patrol that was no doubt awaiting them.
It had been longer since he and Silverstream had met properly, only encountering one another at the Gathering before Fireheart left to return Windclan to their territory, and having only long enough to talk briefly. Between Windclan and the newly arrived Cloudkit, Fireheart had nearly forgotten to prepare for their next planned meeting. With the quarter moon hanging high in the sky, the light was somewhat dim as he reached the edge of the trees, leaping down to the riverbank and smiling around his bundle as he spotted Silverstream laughing happily with her own escort. Heavystep and Loudbelly were grinning, likely at some joke Heavystep had told, lightening the mood immediately with a cheerful call to Runningwind and Mousefur. The twin warriors joined the other chaperones eagerly, and Fireheart met Silverstream’s warm smile with a purr as he leapt up atop the smooth stone next to her, gently placing the sprig of lavender at her paws.
“A gift, to apologize for missing our last meeting.” He mewed, smiling nervously up at the bigger molly, and earning a happy purr as she bunted her cheek against his.
“No apologies needed. We are warriors of our clans before we are Betrothed, Fireheart, I understand when duty gets in the way. I will accept the gift, however, it smells lovely! What does it mean?” Fireheart felt that warmth in his belly spread across his pelt as he settled next to Silverstream, watching her gently inspect the lavender sprig.
“If I remember my lessons, Lavender is a symbol of devotion. It can also mean distrust in the wrong circumstances, but I hope you know that’s not the intent.”
“I’ve no reason to distrust you and endeavor to not give you reason to distrust me.” She purred, only to falter when his face fell. “Fireheart?”
“Sorry, it’s been an interesting quarter moon.” He meowed, unsure how to broach the subject of his accidental adoption.
“Does it have to do with why you smell like the nursery?” Her eyes were guarded, and tail slowly swaying in a way that made him a bit nervous.
“Yes, though not in the way you may suspect. I’ve… taken in a kit, kin of my kin.” Blue eyes blinked, surprise and confusion blossoming.
“... you never told me about any kin.” She settled to lay down, tucking his gift close to her and giving him a nervous smile. “Tell me?” And Fireheart remembered why he’d admired the silver tabby so much since they met. Silverstream was bold and brash, but her kindness and understanding towards him as he learned two different cultures had been more welcoming than he’d ever expected. He settled at her side, cautiously draping his tail across her hind legs and responding in kind when she started to purr softly at the gesture.
“I wasn’t a one-kit litter, and one of my littermates lives in a twoleg nest not far from our territories.” He meowed, fidgeting with one of the oak leaves stuck to his fur with sap. “Her name is Princess. We aren’t particularly close, but she’s the only one of my birth-kin that I even know at this point.”
“The only one?” Silverstream mewed, brows drawing in. “Not even your mother?”
“Ah, kittypet’s are… different about birth-kin.” He felt his tail lash a bit in embarrassment and quickly tried to move on. “Anyways, she recently had a litter, and we were talking about how the clans feel so much stronger about family. She’d never leave her housefolk-” Silverstream opened her mouth to question and he smiled. “What kittypets call Twolegs. But… I think she wishes she could have that. So… she gave me one of her kits. Wouldn’t take no for an answer and made me take him home to Bluestar.” Silverstream’s surprise had bloomed into warm affection.
“Will you let me meet him? When he’s older?”
“Of course, he’s to be your kin as well as mine.” Fireheart purred, bunting his head into her chin with a louder purr. “I just didn’t want you to think ill of me, bringing another kittypet into the clans-”
“He’s your kin Fireheart. If anything I think better of you, offering your sister’s kit a chance at a life in the clan.” Fireheart noted, and couldn’t quite put into words the appreciation, that she didn’t call it a “better” life. “... tell me about your birth-kin?”
“I shouldn’t-
“Why not?” Silverstream raised her head to eye him, eyes narrowed. Fireheart lowered his own, trying to look up at her.
“Some cats may see it as… corrupting you with kittypet ways of life. Cats… didn’t react well to me telling my denmates about my family when I first joined the clan. Especially since kittypets are so different.”
“How so?” Fireheart glanced towards their chaperones, anxiously wondering if they were listening. “Fireheart.” Silverstream’s tone was gentler, and he met her eyes. “If you aren’t comfortable I understand, I just want to know more about the cat I’m to be with for the rest of our lives.”
“... Kittypets don’t value birth-kin the same way clan cats do. Most cats don’t actually get to stay with their birth-kin very long, so it doesn’t make sense to be close.” He meowed, watching Silverstream settle back and watch him. “I never met my sire, Jake was just the tom Nutmeg happened to have kits with, and he didn’t even live nearby to her nest. Nutmeg told us he was always more ‘wild’ than your average kittpet, wandered further.”
“Some kittypets are like that, some of our warriors and Mudfur will trade items and herbs with a few wanderers.” Silverstream commented, and Fireheart smiled at the image. “Was Nutmeg your kin?”
“My mother. She didn’t really call herself our mother often though. Kittypet queens don’t get to keep their kits usually, so getting close just… doesn’t make sense.”
“They don’t even visit?”
“Queens don’t know where their litter will end up. Princess and I being near one another is quite rare. I haven’t heard anything about Nutmeg or my other three littermates since my old housefolk took me in… so you can imagine the culture shock when I joined Thunderclan.” He huffed, smiling nervously up at her. Silverstream was silent for a bit, then sighed.
“I can kind of understand that. I can’t even remember my mother. She and my littermates died before I even opened my eyes.” She looked towards their chaperones. “Dad was… mourning heavily, most of my kithood. Uncle Oakheart and my cousins made it easier, but I felt like I was the clan’s kit more than Dad’s for a long time.” Fireheart frowned, Crookedstar had seemed so close to his daughter. “It got better pretty quickly once Dad started actually talking to people again outside of duty. Now he’s my best friend, but… sometimes I wonder what life would be like if Mom had made it.”
“... I’ve never called anyone Mom. I don’t know if I’m actually allowed to call Bluestar that. I know she’s technically my mother now but… it’s just for succession.”
“I wouldn’t say that.” Silverstream meowed, looking thoughtful. “She seems to be really fond of you. My cousins had my mother’s sister for a foster mother and she looks at them the same way, they’ve called her Mom as long as I’ve been alive, if not longer.” She was quiet a moment, but her tail twitched as she thought, and Fireheart waited quietly, watching the beautiful molly ponder something. “Clan cats may value birth-kin a lot, but chosen family isn’t something to dismiss. Graypool chose her kits, but they’re her kits just as her birth-kits were. Bluestar chose you, and I would wager she feels just as strongly towards you as she does her own birth-kin.”
“She’s rather unhappy with me at the moment.” He chuffed, amused and embarrassed. “She thought I was bringing home a bastard kit. Fresh out of the apprentice’s den and already souring Thunderstar’s line.” Silverstream laughed loudly at that, earning the attention of their chaperones, and Fireheart saw the warm way Loudbelly’s eyes softened at the sight. “Now, MIstyfoot’s kits, are they as cute as you expected them to be?”
The two of them lazed on their stone, purring happily and trading tales of kin and kits, until Loudbelly and Mousefur called the meeting to an end. Silverstream nosed Fireheart’s cheek, picking up the spring of lavender he’d gifted her and trotting after the two older toms, chirruping and purring fondly with them. Mousefur and Runningwind would tease him the entire way back, though the twins were kind enough to help free him from the adornments in his fur before he slipped into the nursery. Brindleface greeted him with exasperated bemusement, playfully nosing Cloudkit from her nest and sending the little white fluffball to his uncle. As the two settled in the nest he’d been allowed to make in the nursery, the white tomkit climbed atop his uncle and sprawled along his back. He was softly snoring in moments, and Fireheart was well on his way to following him.
The soft rustle of ferns at the entrance pulled him back from the edge of sleep, eyes opening slowly at the warm purring murmurs from Brindleface to the approaching cat. Turning carefully to the entrance Fireheart smiled when he met Bluestar’s eyes, the leader’s expression fond and bemused at the kit softly snoring on his back.
“Kits always find the oddest places to sleep.” She mewed, soft to not wake the three kits snoozing. Brindleface had settled back into her own nest, tail wrapped tight around her two remaining kits. “How did the meeting go?”
“Well, Silverstream wasn’t offended at my missing our last, blessedly.” He mewed, lifting his head, careful to not shift his shoulders too much and wake Cloudkit.
“Good, I hear from Runningwind you gave her a gift?”
“Willowpelt said Riverclanners appreciate gifts, so I gave her a sprig of lavender.” Bluestar smiled, purring softly and lapping at his head. “She seemed to like it, brought it home with her.”
“A good choice, a show of your devotion to her. Hold still, you still have sap in your fur.”
“Don’t wake Cloudkit, please, he just fell asleep.” He pleaded, earning a purr. They sat quietly for a bit as Bluestar settled and groomed his pelt. “I told Silverstream about him.” He blurted it out, fighting to keep his fur flat and the tension out of his muscles when he felt Bluestar stop.
“... and?”
“She’d like to meet him. Wanted to know more about his mother, my family. I told her a bit, that kittypet kin is different than clan kin-”
“Fireheart-”
“She asked, Bluestar, said she wants to know her future mate… He turned and met her eyes. “She told me about her mother, that she lost her young, that she can understand.” Bluestar frowned, but sighed and returned to grooming him.
“Crookedstar and his kin have suffered much loss.”
“It’s good she had her uncle, aunt and cousins.” Fireheart agreed, feeling the tension ebb a little. “It’s something I’m a bit jealous of, admittedly, clanborn cats have extended families. Have… families.”
“... Fireheart, you have a family here.” Bluestar meowed, firm but not unkind. “My kin is your kin, and they will consider you as such. Whitestorm is your cousin, whether by blood or not, and he will look out for you and care for you because you are my son and our kin.” Fireheart sat silent for a moment, processing the warm feeling blooming in his chest, then leaned towards Bluestar and bunted his head under her chin with a purr, earning a shocked one in response.
“Thanks Mom.” Bluestar’s purr hiccuped a moment before renewing stronger and pulling him a little closer.
“You are my son, Fireheart. No matter what, we are kin.”

So major changes to AVOS, please let me know what you think. The seasons are going to be changed as well for Aesthetic.
Main POVs are Sparkpaw/pelt, Violetkit/paw/shine, Twigkit/paw/Skybranch, and later on, Puddleshine. Alderheart has very, very few chapters. Mainly his are only at the beginning of Apprentice's Quest.
Violetkit is put into Windclan with Needletail as Heathertail and Breezepelt's firstborn daughter (Smokehaze and Brindlewing being born with her earlier). I don't know which queen fosters her but I have the feeling it'll be a "unofficial oc". One of the unused names from the Kittypet vote that Wafflepaw one.
Windclan is struggling with their arrogant, selfish leader, but Shadowclan is struggling with their "I never wanted to be here in the first place" leader who refuses to act.
Heathertail mentors Violetpaw, but it is hard for her. She put herself up for ages as an independent cat but now has to watch her father admit that:
A. He wanted to run away from Windclan and become a kittypet
B. He sired a child with a kittypet that he planned to run away with.
C. Then turned his back on them both, tossing them out when Smoke revealed she had been wanting to be in Windclan the whole time, telling them they would never succeed despite Brushclaw being a successful warrior and Windclan being welcoming at the time.
Sparkpelt is only not wanting to help Skyclan because Molewhisker DIED on the way there, and her beloved grandma Sandstorm was murdered by Darktail. She doesn't want to face that trauma again so soon, and people won't stop talking about how Firestar wouldn't do this.
Shadowclan and Windclan both get wrecked, Shadowclan fusing with Riverclan (setting up future tensions) and Windclan merging with Skyclan.
Shadowclan's territory is burnt up badly by Darktail, who now has Windclan's territory as his own.
Violetpaw does not attack Twigpaw, instead she is simply shoved into her, she still feels bad about getting her hurt, even if it wasn't her fault. Needletail helped raise her, but she has complex feelings about this, she doesn't like Needtail's love of violence and Needletail (with Onestar) suggesting the separation.
Ivypool is not a bitch about Dovewing's love-life, instead she does want to go on the patrol, but Bramblestar is the one preventing it. Twigpaw sneaks out anyways with Lionblaze and Fallen Leaves' help (as they were on guard duty), going with Spark and Ivy to find things out. Which oddly lines up with Violetpaw sneaking out as well. The two sisters go it alone, though Sparkpelt fusses over them.
More under the cut!
They see the spirit sign and grieve together. But Violetpaw needs to set things right with everything going on with Needletail. Twigpaw isn't as deterred, and she finds Skyclan.
When Riverclan is attacked, they aren't driven out completely, it is just a display of power, the battle is a stalemate, Mistystar losing a life, and a chunk of Riverclan being taken prisoner.
The Kin are fucking HUGE. They're a big group, enough that the Clans are genuinely having to fight hard for this.
Upon this, Sandstorm's sacrifice, the weaponization of fire, and Violetpaw's misery that she herself inflicted, Needletail realizes this is beyond fucked up. She still gets imprisoned with the starving Riverclan cats though.
Violetpaw's espionage really fucks with her. She is constantly looking over her shoulder. Her relationship with Needletail is strained as hell but Needletail sacrificing herself to save Violetpaw caps it off. It saved her life but it doesn't undo the harm Needletail caused.
In the end, Onestar does die doing the right thing for once. Does he go to Starclan right away? Absolutely not. Prison Sentence for you, boy. But he feels he deserves it and is fine with going. The problem is reflected on the Clans, and while some have the xenophobic knee-jerk reaction to just blame Darktail, a lot of cats realize that the rebellious young cats of the Clans have a point.
Chunks of Kin cats join the Clans, happy to be away from Darktail. Sleekwhisker remains though, swearing that Darktail will live on, his legacy will remain. No one knows what she means by that...
It is deep into Winter and things are TENSE. Food is scarce, and cats are restless. Thunderclan has welcomed in Skyclan, under the pretense that they will find a home eventually.
They're trying, but when the Leader and Second in Command of Thunderclan are at odds, things are split.
Sparkpelt isn't given a 180 to make Alderheart look better. Jayfeather is anti-Skyclan, Cherryfall is anti-Skyclan (mainly because of Mole's death), and some others. It's a sensitive topic (though Berrynose is very much pro Skyclan because if they leave his son died for nothing)
Violetpaw actually gets to break down to her family and cry, because she is not thankful to Windclan for taking her away from her sister, and penalizing her for being different. She tells Harestar otherwise, not wanting to be rude.
Twigpaw says she wants to finish her education first, and continues on a bit in Thunderclan, miserable as she is, she wants to prove to them she is worth something.
Violetpaw is kitty autism, she struggles with social cues and understanding emotions sometimes such as Hawkwing speaking about Pebbleshine making him happy. Twig is also kitty adhd, she is hyper curious all the time, and interrupts others often, which can get on Violet's nerves. But Violet can also be blunt which sets off Twig's RSD.
Twigpaw is named Skybranch after she returns to Thunderclan, the third name Bramblestar has ever confidently given a cat after Lilyheart and Seedfur. She gets it later though, since things in Thunderclan are tenser than a bowstring.
Finpaw still loses his tail, but Violetpaw and the other apprentices are his buddies rather than Twigpaw.
Sparkpelt receives the Prophecy "The Dark Sky must not herald a Storm" after finding Needletail's spirit near the Windclan border during a solo hunt. She tells Alderheart and he stupidly tells the rest of the medicine cats.
All the apprentices want to see Twigpaw, so they all have a secret meeting at the lake where she breaks him out of his shell and he talks about his insecurity about his tail. They bond with these secret meetings and he joins Thunderclan.
Sparkpelt is angry Alderheart went to the Twolegplace when he said they'd go together, he doesn't want attention but NEEDS to be the hero. He gets into a fight with Dandeliontuft and Sparkpelt when they save him because he's insecure.
Ivypool and Tigerheart BOTH go after Dovewing, working together and finally reaching an understanding (Super Edition: Tigerheart's Light)
Snowbush doesn't die, but his leg is amputated.
Violetshine gets together with Tree and Zelda, who stays with the Clans (along with Loki moving to Shadowclan)
Twigpaw is finally given her name, Skybranch, but she doesn't look happy. When pressed during the ceremony, she tells Thunderclan that she has made her choice. She'll always have some love for them, but she loves her sister more. Skybranch leaves for Skyclan with Finleap, and does not come back.
Tree is also a tolly, going by they/he pronouns.
Briarlight doesn't die from the sickness. They immediately move her into Hollyleaf's old Tunnels area, watched over by Hollyleaf and Strawberrytuft (renamed Hollytuft)
Yarrowleaf and Conefoot are found and want to rejoin the Clans instead of Yarrowleaf and Sleekwhisker.
Leafstar is no longer as angry, instead she is visibly stressed out trying to keep everyone happy, and asks the cats of the others Clans "no more shuffling around right now, PLEASE. Skyclan needs more time to settle and find our old clanmates."
Fuzzball actually (completely by accident) gets through to Jayfeather, and when Jay realizes when an ass he's been, he finally changes for the better. Still sarcastic, but less mean spirited, more wanting to actually joke with others. Fuzzball stays in Thunderclan, becoming Fuzzyleaf, a Keeper. He is Jayfeather's mate. His job is to organize and help keep the camp clean.
The Clans like the idea of a Mediator but there is struggle on who to pick for the other Clans.
Sparkpelt and Dandeliontuft are running around playing nurse while this happens, wanting to help their brother out.
More than just Yarrowleaf's kits are taken. I haven't decided who yet, however. But this results in not only Rowanstar's death, but also Conefoot. Died protecting his nephew and niece against their own father, killing Nettle as he drops from blood loss.
More related to Tigerheart's Light, but more Guardian cats come along too.
Blossomfall and Ivypool are mates, their sire is Thrifty, a Loner tom. He looks just like Thriftear! Blossom gives birth just as Dove, Ivy and Tiger get back, the kits slightly overdue, as if they were waiting for their other mom...
Ivypool and Dovewing have a proper goodbye, and there are no hard feelings. None of the shit we got.
When Alderheart visits Velvet in a rare POV for him to bring back her Fishy, he promises that he will come back, that he will visit her. She gives him what is known now as Velvet Thyme and Hattie gets a cameo.
He goes to the Moonpool but the only chat he gets with Starclan is Sandstorm telling him that Thunderclan is in for some troubled times ahead, he just sighs, replying "I know."
Rowanclaw is referred to as Rowanstar in Starclan, out of honour.
Sparkpelt mentors Flypaw, understanding her a lot better and working with her.
Violetshine also takes an alternate path in life, making Sandynose even more of an insufferable prick. She wants to become a Nurse-Maid (permaqueen) and begins her training for that with the other Queens. She is sick of violence.
Sparkpelt is racing with Flypaw to get some energy out when they overhear the medicine cats arguing about the Deathberry Cure.
Dandeliontuft is the one to suggest the cure at all to Alderheart. "Perhaps the deathberries killed the infection, allowing its body to just fight the tiny amount of poison instead."
Flypaw doubts herself heavily, thinking she will never be a Warrior. Sparkpelt gives her encouragement about it, telling her that she will be the most quick-witted Warrior in Thunderclan.
Finleap starts pressuring Skybranch to have kits. He will eventually get shut down, and in the end he leaves back to Thunderclan and will fall into the Imposter's Claws later in life.
Leafstar isn't this oddly aggressive leader, she just wants Skyclan to thrive, and is willing to compromise. Juniperclaw is the antagonistic force here, refusing to agree with Tree's terms. Instead of a random Quick Time Dog Event, Juniperclaw just leaves in a huff. He wants Skyclan GONE.
Violetshine snaps at him for saying Skybranch owes him, telling him that he's an idiot.
Shadowkit has genuine epilepsy, it is treated with valerian but... The outcome looks bleak. This leads into Tawnypelt's Vision. Tigerstar is staying in Thunderclan's camp to keep an eye on Puddleshine, and keeps Shadowkit with him, until Tawnypelt takes him with her to the Tribe to try and heal him, or at least get things under control.
More cats than just Sparrowpelt are poisoned. Cherrytail, Petalnose, and Billystorm all get sick.
Puddleshine POV (he might be the Shadowclan POV after Violet leaves) going to the Moonpool after his recovery, where he gets the sign, but also talks with Conefoot about the Clans needing to work together, a vision of Fivetrees. Ancient words ring. Unite or Die.
Harestar is most giving to Skyclan, though he acknowledges that Wind land isn't really suited for Sky cats hunting style. Bramble neutral leaning to against, that they should go back to the lake. Tigerstar is for them to stay, but Mistystar says it would be best for them to go back. After all, Darktail is gone, why are they still here?
Another Puddle POV (ooh) where he puts together that some deathberries are missing. He smells Juniperclaw's scent on them and FREAKS. He tries to tell Alderheart but the boy feels defeated. He feels like everything was for null.
Sparkpelt finds Tree and Zeldaheart, who miss Violetshine terribly since Skyclan has left. Sparkpelt swallows her nerve and, after sending Flypaw back to camp, she will track down Skyclan. The TRUE Spark That Remains.
Meanwhile, Dandeliontuft and Alderheart both go over to Shadowclan's territory carrying herbs, pretending to want to give some extras over as goodwill and check Puddleshine and Shadowkit over.
Upon the realization that Juniperclaw poisoned Skyclan to make them leave, he is not only stripped of deputyship. He is exiled.
Sparkpelt argues with Bramblestar about going after them, calling him out on ignoring their plea when he was the one who made the "All Clans Stick Together" LAW IN THE FIRST PLACE, learning that Skyclan was poisoned... She decides to do it her own way. Spark steals a few traveling herbs, Larksong comes with her, and they go off after Skyclan together with Tree and Zeldaheart.
While on the journey, the rain makes it hard to even see, the cats staying near each other, shoulder to shoulder, nose to tail. Everyone is terrified.
Leafstar loses a life drowning before Ebonyclaw can get her out of the water.
Skybranch finally cuts Finleap off. Enough is enough. She doesn't want kittens, ever.
When they get back, the Clans are in full panic mode, remembering the Great Storm and also the fact that a little kid is missing.
Violetshine dives into the water to save Shadowkit but gets swept further through the rushing water. Juniperclaw manages to save them, but he stares at the Shadowclan cats, the cats he tried to kill off...
"I'll never be able to say it enough, but Skyclan... I'm sorry."
It isn't a redemption. It's him paying with his life to tell these cats he is sorry, that his threat is no more.
Skyclan settles into their space, the Clans all expanding outwards further. Sparkpelt sees Firestar's suddenly next to her sitting calmly, watching with pride. Time seems to stop for a moment.
"The 5 Clans need to face threats together. You united them once more. Sparkpelt, I'm so proud to be part of your family."
