The triplets doing something at the same time in true creepy triplet fashion

Always open to prompts! The only time I'm not is if the ask box is closed 😁 (And I promise to announce if that's ever the case)

The triplets didn't often do things at the same time, but when they did it was noticeable. It could be downright eerie.

The first instance Mirabel noticed was when Antonio dropped a plate. Thankfully, the plate didn't break, but all three triplets looked up at the exact same time, standing up in tandem and even had the same concerned looks on their faces. For the first time, Mirabel noticed a true resemblance between her mother, aunt and uncle.

But it was only a small thing. Easy to brush off.

However, those little moments kept piling up and up. Only Abuela, Félix and Agustín didn't seem to notice. Meanwhile, the Madrigal kids were all increasingly aware of the "weird triplet thing" and unnerved whenever it happened.

It was weird. How could three separate people, who were all so different, be so in sync?

Another time was when Camilo was starting a water balloon fight. He and Mirabel tip-toed into the garden. The triplets were sitting on the back steps.

Without even turning around, the three of them said, "Don't even think about it."

"How did you know!?" Camilo demanded. He looked as freaked out as Mirabel felt.

It was even weirder when Julieta, Bruno and Pepa turned to face them at the exact same time.

"We know," they said flatly. It was getting ridiculous.

"Knock it off," Mirabel said, tense as a spring.

Julieta's smile was so sweet it verged on openly mocking. "Knock what off, mija?" she asked. She was clearly biting back laughter.

"That!" Mirabel pointed between them. "The weird triplet thing!"

"You're gonna have to clarify," Bruno said, hands clasped and shoulders back in an impression of Abuela. "We do a lot of weird triplet things."

"You keep doing things at the same time," Camilo said, gripping one of the water balloons so tightly that Mirabel was surprised it didn't pop. "And saying things at the same time!"

The triplets looked at each other, eyebrows raised. They shrugged, only further proving the point.

"Eh," Pepa said. "We don't even notice anymore."

"It's weird," Camilo said.

"I think it's sweet," Julieta said, nose in the air.

With an outright mischievous grin, Bruno added; "It's a triplet thing. You wouldn't get it."

Mirabel threw her water balloon, but Bruno ducked, laughing at her. It sailed harmlessly overhead, bursting on the grass. Casita rattled and Mirabel knew the house was laughing at her and Camilo too.

I'm willing to bet money that the triplets duked it out at some point during Casita's rebuilding.

Screw being in their 50s they're still siblings and they're still gonna act siblings. Sometimes you just gotta fight your siblings. Don't get me wrong they all still love one another and anyone who says anything bad about one of them the other two will square up for them because that's their sibling. Only the triplets can make fun of each other. (the husbands can too to an extent, after all they were Bruno's friends first) Plus they have 10 years worth feelings they got to deal with.

They try to act mature and not fight one another. Again they are in their 50s and the whole family is trying to be better. What no one will say though is the tension between all 3 could be cut with a knife with how thick it is.

Then one day it's hot, tempers are quicker to ignite and Bruno being the annoying little brother he is says the wrong passive aggressive thing to his sisters.

SMACK

The triplets stared at each other. Julieta's hand is still raised. All of them kept shifting their eyes from one sibling to another. Finally Bruno tackels one of his sisters, he didn't care which one, screaming "Free for all!" The third triplet dove on top of the other two, joining in on the brawl.

It worries the children at first because they've never seen this side of their mothers and tio. Felix and Augustin who seen these fights in both generations just gently guide the children away. Alma just shakes her head. She's too old to pull them apart. The husbands both know good and well not to get between the three when fists/lightening start flying.

The brawl ends about ten mintues later with the triplets in a pile laughing. All previous tension now gone.

Prompt: Mirabel complained about Isabela and her (morbid) fascination of carnivorous plant, which reminded certain siblings of Julieta's morbid curiousity of human anatomy.

Mirabel was...frazzled as she stomped outside for breakfast. Her mamá was just finishing organising all the food and Tia Pepa and Tio Bruno were setting the table. It seemed Mirabel was the first to arrive.

"Mirabel?" Julieta looked concerned and Mirabel couldn't even say her mother was over-reacting. She knew she looked annoyed.

"Look," Mirabel said stiffly. "We all know I'm proud of Isa, right? I love her, I love that she's exploring her Gift."

"Uh, yeah, we know," Bruno said. He glanced between Mirabel and Julieta uncertainly.

"Right. But we can all agree-" Mirabel gestured with both arms towards the edge of the garden. "That the giant Venus fly-trap is a bit much, yes? The sundew was bad enough! We went from blossoms to this! I nearly walked right into it! Papá did last night!"

"Ay, Agustín," Julieta sighed. Her concern was obviously increasing. "Was your papá okay? Were you okay?"

"Papá thought the whole thing was hilarious," Mirabel sighed. "And Isa showed me another plant she's created- it looks like a row of teeth!"

To her confusion, Bruno and Pepa started to giggle.

"Oh, wow, Juli," Bruno said with a grin. "I wonder where Isa gets such morbid curiosity from, hm?"

Pepa began to laugh outright, wheezing "Teeth!"

Julieta shoved at Bruno, looking strangely embarrassed. "Don't you start," Julieta warned.

"Uh..." Safe to say, Mirabel was lost. "What's so funny?"

"Oh, nothing," Pepa said, utterly smug and gleeful. "Just that it's funny you should mention teeth, Mira. See, your mamá here-"

"Knock it off, Pepa!"

"She asked your abuela if she made necklaces out of our baby teeth, when Mamá told us that El Ratoncito Pérez wasn't real!"

Bruno laughed so hard he had to grab the table to stay upright. Julieta grabbed a nearby towel and began to slap Pepa with it, but Pepa ran, dancing out of her reach as she continued to laugh.

"Mamá looked so stunned!" Pepa continued to cackle. Mirabel could only gape in silence. "Sweet, responsible, Senorita Perfecta Julieta asking such a question? The horror!"

"We were kids!" Julieta protested. "I didn't mean to sound creepy!"

"Doesn't mean it wasn't creepy," Bruno wheezed. "You'd expect that from me, Juli!"

Mirabel put her hands on her hips, staring Julieta down. "So, what I'm hearing is that the flesh-eating creepy plants are your fault, Mamá."
