Learning so many youtubers are parents who for most of their online popularity weren’t lately is jarring, partially because a lot of them still look so young and I associate them with being like. early 20s. so my brain can’t get past that, but still refreshing that the reason this is also jarring is because they apparently don’t put their kid out there online and didn’t make their entire channels about being a parent
Original art is also more difficult to search for: "dragon" might not consistently return good results the way "Smaug" might, which could explain the disparity
oh for sure! oc stuff regularly has to be tagged pretty generically, and the more generic it is, the more not-art traffic the tag has to bury things
ill admit I have a personal bias though; I'd rather five notes on an original work than fifty on fan art, just because that's five strangers who saw my shit and went "Hell Yes, I want to see this again later". I think notes being framed the way they are (as an interactions counter) removed the very real sentiment behind them of "this many people want to be able to look at your work again, just because you made it". it's nicer that way :)
happy 7th anniversary asagao academy. hanabutter is the most thematically important asagao ship and it breaks my heart in two everytime i think about it
