If a person doesn’t have a single post about freeing Palestine or any posts directly from Palestinian people about their own culture/history and/or they refuse to acknowledge or even use the word ‘genocide’ for what’s happening right now…that person is most likely going to be a Zionist.

This ain’t even a joke y’all and this isn’t about ‘witch hunting’ people either. A LOT of Zionists/soft Zionists (people who do the ‘both sides’ bs) have the same theme to them:

They’ll constantly boost posts only about antisemitism (which on the surface, is valid to talk about at any time) but there will be NO posts about aiding Palestinians, no posts from Palestinian bloggers, news outlets, journalists on the ground, videos of the devastation happening, etc. They’ll hyperfocus ONLY on antisemitism, which can range from posting about an armed antisemite walking around outside of a synagogue (clearly bad) to getting mad at anti-Zionists and Palestinian people in general, validly criticizing Israel’s genocidal policies (literally, bare minimum human decency).

Far too many popular ‘liberal/leftie’ blogs here on tumblr have already unmasked themselves as softcore colonialists just because they need to center themselves in a situation that isn’t about them, specifically and are easily giving ammo to white nationalists against Muslims and Arabic people worldwide.

Listen, I know people want to highlight the importance of how dangerous antisemitism and islamophobia are for Jewish and Muslim people right now and it is paramount that more people can clock it when it happens or try to prevent it from happening.

However…A LOT of liberal/leftie Zionists who act like they’re doing that by speaking on behalf of the current peoples being murdered without actively engaging with or sharing ANY media or material created by Palestinian, Lebanese, or any other peoples that Israel is attacking (especially if that media does not portray Israel in a good light) are not actually dedicated to decolonization or anti-imperialist activism. Period.

And one last point I want to make:

Zionism is not synonymous with Judaism. They are not the same thing and Jewish people have a much longer history within anti-Zionist activism than a LOT of liberal/leftie Zionists think. Some of them are fully aware of it and just want to use Judaism as a shield against any criticisms targeting Israel’s inherently colonialist history of the past 70+ years. That isn’t fair to Jewish people who are and have been constantly protesting against Israel’s occupation of Palestine nor is it fair to any of the people in Palestine and Lebanon and Egypt who have been and currently are dealing with the impact of the occupation’s wrath.

Jeez, I’m sorry about the lack of reading comprehension that those TERFs had on your post. Oddly enough, most of them didn’t even have their races listed in their bios and we all know these clowns are usually white as hell 😂 Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you for talking about a complex issue in black spaces, particularly about how black cis women and tme people can inflame the violence that black trans women face. I already suspected that this topic would stir the pot a bit but I think it’s another one of those uncomfortably true conversations that need to be had in order to not just spread awareness of this issue, but to also put a stop to it and focus back on solidarity with black trans women. 💛 Hope you’re taking it easy and please, take care of yourself!

Yes, TERFs / radfems are incorrigible, and it's frustrating reading their transmisogynistic comments every few days when they find my post. Although most of them are white, some are Black, which is disheartening but not surprising, as it mirrors the kind of psychological violence I (and other TMAs) experience in public spaces at their hands everyday. Of course, the last thing they need is a spotlight shone on that violence. Yet, it's laughable just how easily their ideas fall apart at the slightest probing. A spiteful part of me desires to methodically deconstruct their ideas for the white supremacist / fascistic mess they are, but I'm not really emotionally prepared for the transmisogynoiric backlash I would receive at the moment. (Maybe in the future though.)

In addition to the couple of TERF anon asks I received recently and am drafting responses to, I'm considering writing about how TMAs in particular receive an alarming amount of projected trauma from cis women and trans men – folks who we ostensibly would be able to share community with, and how that dynamic has impacted my psyche as of late. Just sharing some of my thoughts as usual.

am i wrong in making the assumption that most of these obnoxious trans men were fortunate enough to not experience any impactful incidents of misogyny? as in they live in a liberal area and have agnostic parents or something like that. i sure as hell have deep trauma from misogyny and theyre bold for trying to tell me that i am anti-trans male for thinking maleness inherently privileges someone

I wouldn’t ever want to go around invalidating people or claiming that they’re lying when they say they’ve experienced misogyny (not that that’s what you’re doing), but I do feel as though it’s almost giving them too much credit to blame ignorance. Obviously privilege dynamics have a lot to do with it — these people are TME and, as has been pointed out by @blackafemmetalks and @pbscore among others, overwhelmingly white. But, regardless of what their personal relationships are to misogyny, regardless of what their experiences with oppression have been, the fact remains that they are leveraging transmisogyny to drive trans women out of our communities, and I do believe at this point that most of them are doing it intentionally.

Hey y’all! So, long story short: things feel through with my teaching job in Japan and I decided to come back home to the U.S. to continue my teaching career at the school I’ve previously worked at. They’re great people and have a supportive staff there and they have welcomed me back! The only issue is that I literally don’t have enough money to pay off some bills that I currently have. I have a lot of debt to pay off since I unfortunately did not have enough money to stay in Japan or anywhere else.

Anyways, I’m doing some emergency commissions so I can pay off two really important bills that need to be dealt with by the end of this week! My goal is to try to make at least $80 just to cover the bills until I am able to start working again (I’m supposed to start in the next two weeks but I’m not sure which day exactly yet). I’m opening up my commissions once again and I would like some help with my current situation.

I will be offering flat-colored pfp/icon commissions for $10!! There are some limits: I’ll only have time to draw one character at a time so if you want me to draw more than one character in your drawing, it will cost an extra $5.

Here are some examples of my work:

Depending on what you’d like me to do, I can easily go between a more cartoon-y style or a more ‘realistic’ style! Below are my basic rules and such:

What I will draw:

- Original characters

- Popular characters from books/tv shows/movies

- Animals/pets

- Monsters/cryptids/mythological creatures

- Backgrounds/settings/liminal spaces

- Robots

- Spooky themes (nothing with too much gore or explicit violence)

What I will NOT draw:

- NSFW art (I have nothing against it, I just don’t have an interest in drawing it)

- Complicated architecture (look at my art style…LOOK AT IT lol)

- No bigotry of any kind

- Realistically rendered art (again, look at my art style homie lol)

- No themes containing abuse or assault (especially, in regards to children)

- No HEAVY gore or violence

Those posts talking about how child safety online needs to be approached from a more hollistic perspective, about how the discussion about minors clashing with adults online is just part of a broader way in which the needs of young people are dismissed on a societal level and how we need to think of it more broadly than just “ fandom websites and queer people and kink ” and in terms of teaching kids online safety is admirable in theory...

But I feel like it distracts from the fact that; in fandom spaces; the proshippers and those like them are being the exact same type of dismissive adult that those posts are talking about.

Like, the young people talking about this shit are in fact trying to assert themselves and assert boundaries, like the posts said we should encourage, but these fuckers just tell them to shut up and call them puriteens trying to censor your hentai and/or smutty fanfic.

Hell, even the extremes they might go to are reactions to that crowd’s dismissive horseshit towards their very real concerns!

Because, fandoms aren’t just “strangers on the internet,” they’re basically an online form of third place where devoted friendgroups form and interact. And as a third place, one should recognize that it’s a pretty fucking big problem if predation routinely occurs there and the subculture not only ignores warning signs but practically encourages them.

That’s not even getting into the issue of how interacting with some of this shit is treated as the “price of admission” for any social interaction online when it really shouldn’t be, especially with all-ages media.

And, I feel like in this issue the appeal to a hollistic perspective is more of a “starving children in Lemuria” gotcha to dodge away from actually examining the disregard of the boundaries of minors in the circles one inhabits.

Like, friend of the blog @pbscore said it best to me:

I feel like way too many folks in ‘progressive’ spaces can’t tell the difference and often see people’s aversion to always talking about sex as inherently ‘puritanical’ rather than just accepting that some folks just don’t care to talk about it…with them lol

That’s what tends to offend a lot of folks who are so intense about sex positivity: the moment people actually do set boundaries in ways that don’t allow them to include certain people in their sexual pool, they get uncomfortable with it and forget all about their own supposed understandings of consent and boundaries.

Like, there’s a lot to talk about in terms of how to behave in shared spaces between adults and minors (Which is an extremely thorny issue I’ll agree), the issue of how to come up with a model of free speech that doesn’t deny all impacts of speech, how to make dedicated spaces for minors of their own, how to fight back the actual bastards in fundie orgs and payment processors killing free speech and so-on.

But, for the love of god stop using the broader hollistic perspective on this issue to shut up talk about these issues in fandom/online spaces because you’re terrified you can’t come up with a better framework of freedom of speech...
