Peacock clocks were immensely popular during the 18th century in Europe, particularly. They are notable not only for their timekeeping capabilities but also as works of art and engineering. I’ve said this elsewhere, but I think it does bear stating outright:
I absolutely agree with the reading of Tommy’s “MY attention?” as being surprise that he was after Tommy not Eddie…
But there IS another reading of that: that Tommy is surprised that BUCK was trying to get his attention, rather than TOMMY getting Buck’s attention. We don’t see as much of that, of course… but that would also make sense with how ready Tommy was to kiss him immediately after that.

This morning I got a frantic call from my mother, she's out of town taking care of my baby cousins while their parents pack up for a big move and she says she can't find her favorite pen. It's a very expensive very fancy pen my father got for her to celebrate her getting her doctorate and is obviously massively important to her. She asks me to go to her place to check if she'd left it on the dining room table, and of course i do, because I get my anxiety disorder from her and know it's Vital this pen gets found asap to keep her from having a panic attack.
So I get there, my father's truck is in the lot, and I assume he's just in a meeting or something. and head in. And i go to the dining room table and I remember two other things I inherited from this woman. My impishness, and my ability to fake sob.
Anyways I got a very nice peacock clock for Valentines from my parents. (she has her pen with her)

locked tomb characters ranked by how cringe they are
because this post by @wifegideonnav reminded me that they’re all losers, but some are even more losers than the others
Hot Sauce: 1/10. This girl is cool in all possible ways and definitely future lead researcher material. No cringe, zero notes.
Pyrrha: 2/10. By far the least cringe of The Olds. Yes her nicknames for Nona have dad joke energy but she’s very earnest about it and it’s cute.
Juno Zeta: 2/10. Total MILF. Very smart and should know better than to get flirty with We Suffer, but I get it.
Marta Dyas: 3/10. A complete badass with a very sensible outlook on avoiding unnecessary forms. Call me Judith because I would also make a pass at her at the first possible chance.
Commander Wake: 3/10. She made Pyrrha fall in love with her, seduced ever-loyal G1deon into hatefucking and galvanized a dying resistance movement. She was genuinely nice to Gideon those 3 seconds they interacted in passing! Then she had to go and hide under the bed of a mentally ill teenager.
Dulcinea: 4/10. Her horniness for revenge is epic. Let down Pal as nicely as she could and managed to outwit Cytherea when it mattered. Not cringe at all.
Camilla: 4/10. Yes, she could kill you in seconds but she did once sell cigarettes, her most liquid asset, for about a third of their market value.
Alecto: 4/10. Scary eldritch woman-shaped creature with a sword, comes highly recommended by Pyrrha Dve. Loses points for confusing Middle English and thinking John was the best possible Sailor Earth when he was clearly the worst.
G1deon: 5/10. Utterly willing to burn for what he believes in. Yes, he probably needs some perspective but he made sure the baby had enough air before kicking Wake out of the airlock and Matthias Nonius thinks he’s an okay dude.
Pash: 5/10. She has that freedom fighter swag and the cool hair but she is a terrible bodyguard coasting on nepotism, sorry to say.
Palamedes: 6/10. He didn’t clock the serial killer pretending to be his ex because he was too busy going to painfully extreme lengths to avoid interacting with her.
Naberius: 6/10. My controversial opinion is that Babs is the least cringe of the Third House throuple. Yes he looks and acts like a peacock but he puts up with Corona snacking on him for no reason and is still nice to her, and gives Ianthe solid romantic advice.
Nona: 6/10. Cringe in the unselfconscious way of a young teenager, and put this ability to use making Pal fess up to his nurse kink. She will never be cool but it’s part of her appeal.
Mercymorn: 7/10. Speaks in onomatopoeias. She knows she is insufferable so she’s gonna do her best to make sure to be the most insufferable person in every room. Once called John Gaius “the best man I who ever lived” to his smug face and not even blowing him up later makes up for that.
Ianthe: 7/10. Looks like a wet rat. Hopelessly dramatic but she pulls it off. Declares her love for Harrow at every turn in the most transparent possible way then pretends she’s just being snarky. Some cool points for actually getting shit done
Coronabeth: 7/10. Terrible taste in love interests. Her freedom fighter era was hot but she thinks pompadour hair is a good look? Also, the way she spent her whole life lying about necromancy speaks of extreme conflict avoidance. Cringe move.
Judith: 7/10. She deserved to suffer and has suffered more than she deserves. It’s cringe how she clings to her imperialist brainwashing but she gets a point for rightfully understanding she should be wary of Corona, something Ianthe still can’t even grasp.
Ortus: 7/10. Yes he quotes his own epic poetry WIP at people but he also had to grow up on the Ninth with nothing better to do. Genuinely a very nice guy.
Cytherea: 8/10. Her unhinged vibes are very hot but she killed a couple of nerds and two teenagers instead of anyone who was actually dangerous. Cringe of her!
Silas: 8/10. Smarmy cloud-looking motherfucker. He is a child Pope and I guess he can’t help the inherent cringe of the Eight. But that’s still no excuse for bringing a portrait of John all the way to Canaan House just to hang it in your bedroom, dude.
Gideon: 8/10. Babygirl is a horny virgin with the vocabulary of a nerd. Harrow is bones over tit in love with her and she fails to notice after living in Harrow’s brain for eight months. Gets points for managing to maintain impressive biceps on a diet with no protein.
Augustine: 9/10. Extremely cringe because of how hard he tries to pretend he’s not cringe. Cigarettes on a space station and effectively performing swag don’t make up for how much he clearly wants to suck John’s dick. Which he did at least twice.
Harrow: 10/10. Spent most of her life being mean to Gideon because she was too hot to deal with and lobotomized a coffee shop AU into existence. Thinks Ianthe Tridentarius is beautiful. Once built a bone cocoon to sleep in after not drinking water for two days. Should’ve told God months ago that she just didn’t want to eat his fucking biscuits and stop offering.
John: 10/10. Unfortunately, this scale only goes up to 10 but we all know it’s not enough. Deeply cringe in a myriad of ways, chiefly among them the way he inflicts his barely veiled incest kink on all his friends. That one dad joke was gold, though.
This was getting too long but for the record: Aiglamene is cool and so is Abigail Pent. Magnus is not cool but he’s a fun time. The Terrible Teens are exempt from judgement on account of being 14.

I have some thoughts about Movie!Vanessa's behavior on night 4.
Yknow. The night where they build the big pillow fort, foreshadow the springlock suit Abby nearly gets shoved into later. The night where Abby gets electrocuted, and where Vanessa threatens to shoot Mike.
(If anything is wrong here, it's because while I just got back from watching the movie in cinemas again, I can't go scene by scene because I don't have Peacock. And I'm not getting it just for the fnaf movie. Not even sure if Peacock is in Australia?)
I've seen people complain that Vanessa's behavior on this night is too... inconsistent. She goes from suggesting using tables for a giant pillow fort, to telling off Mike for bringing his sister, to consoling Abby after the shock, to threatening to shoot Mike.
But I don't think this is inconsistent. Because there's a common thread in all the scenes where Vanessa's keeping calm.
Abby.
Whenever Abby is there, she plays along with her suggestions, or tries to comfort her when things go wrong.
It's only when Abbys not around or cant notice whats going on, when it's only her and Mike, that Vanessa drops the act and says something real- Don't touch that, it's a springlock suit. You're the one who brought her here. Don't bring her back.
And I think the reason why is just very simple- she doesn't want to scare Abby, because Abby's just a little kid who doesn't have much control over whether they spend the night at Freddys.
If she's scared of a place that she has to stay in (say, because her brother brought her to try and talk to ghost children. And he's outright admitted this to you), and can't leave because. She's like eight and her brother's on the clock- that would be a really fucking cruel thing to do. Abby doesn't have much control over whether she's at Freddys or not. She can cry, or scream. But if Mike doesn't want to go home, she can't either. Not easily.
(At least, as far as either Mike or Vanessa would know at the time. Apparently Abby knows how to catch a taxi with minimal help.)
If you isolate the "playing along" she does with Abby, from how she talks to Mike, the inconsistency goes away.
Just focusing on Mike and Vanessa's dialogue- you can see the tension ramping up slowly. Things starts out okay until the springlock suit. Tension rises. She gets defensive when Mike tries to blame her for not telling him about these dangerous things earlier. (And she has a point- she's not the one who took Abby here.) Tension rises again. Then Abby gets shocked. Vanessa consoles her, but glares at Mike over Abbys shoulder. Next scene is the "If you dare bring her back here, I'll shoot you." Scene. The tension had been going up in a steady diagonal all night, if you understand that Vanessa's putting on an act around Abby.
I don't know what else to say so I guess I'm ending it here. Tldr- Vanessa seems "inconsistent" because she's trying to stay calm around a child. That's why she only really goes off on Mike when their alone together on night 4.

Maybe arranged reader talking about her paintings with Bruce or at a Charity event? I wanna know the secrets behind them too!!
"You live a charmed life," an older woman sighed sipping her drink and fingering a frankly horrific necklace. A new purchase, you were willing to bet. She'd been drawing attention to it all night. "Nothing to do all day-"
"She paints," Bruce said, swooping in and kissing your cheek.
"Between pedicures and shopping I suppose it fills the time-"
"And," Bruce added, "She's instrumental in several preservation societies."
Her smile got brittle and you consider complimenting her gaudy necklace. You're not sure what's more irritating. The implication that you don't have anything to do with your time OR Bruce playing at having any more interest in it than he did issues with the staff or what fruit was in season.
"Where did you-"
"Oh what do you paint? Landscapes or-"
"Magical realism from what I can tell," Bruce said. "And-"
"Surrealism," you correct.
"Well that's- unique," she said. "Melting clocks and such."
You smile and fight the urge to backhand Bruce. "I leave those to Dali."
"Who, dear?" she asked, "I'm sorry. All those names run together."
That's it. You're painting a guillotine and a gaudy necklace next. On a peacock. Why? Because you're pretty sure a peacock squawk and her laugh are the same sound.
Her husband might be a senator now but unless she can figure out how to carry on an intelligent conversation he;ll never see the White House. And if she doesn't stop talking to you. Right now. You'll happily use Bruce's money to make sure he doesn't get a second term.
It's really a public service, honestly.

‼️NIGHTBRINGER LESSON 31 SPOILERS‼️
masterlist | lessons/events | lessons | lesson 30 | lesson 32
normal and hard
Tumblr media
now idk about the rest of y'all, but it took me a minute to make this choice. i was stuck between not knowing and thinking that he won't. there's a slight chance that he'd tell them in the instance kayden hadn't tried to talk to him and explain, but they did
levi cares too much about mc to let anything bad happen to them. he knows that if he tells one of his brothers, they'll tell lucifer. once lucifer finds out, he'll be furious, and not only that, he'll be terrified
lucifer masks his fear with anger, like we've seen him do in season one of nb and multiple times in the og game. this also makes me really like the peacock theme throught his demon form; they're big ass, scary ass birds who try to show up other birds by flaunting their feathers to make themselves look better. but instead of lucifer doing it for mating tactics, he does it to protect himself and his brothers from any harm that could come their way
leviathan knows this. he doesn't want mc to get hurt, even with the possibility of him never seeing them again looming over his head constantly. he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he caused anything bad to happen to them, especially if it turns out that he had the wrong idea about their conversation with solomon and that all his anxiety was for nothing
also the clock ticking in the background during this scene ??? impeccable tension building on the game devs' part. we're running out of time to make pacts with everyone, and solomon and mc both know it
Tumblr media
goofy ass sticker chain 😭
mc 🤝🏽 me
blowing up people's phones when they ignore me or don't answer within 5 seconds
Tumblr media
see i was also thinking lotan
but what if it just means they're all gonna have a crying fest once kayden has to leave for good??
...it's probably lotan
Tumblr media
what if it's both? AND lotan? and a long awaited reappearance of henry the snake 🫶🏽
Tumblr media
baby no :((
i wish he realized his worth more, but removing yourself from a cycle of self-deprication and self-loathing is easier said than done
i think he's feeling guilt on top of his already expressed betrayal and self-loathing. he doesn't think he deserves all the care and patience mc is trying to give him, and he hates the fact that they keep trying to talk to him when he won't budge. he thinks they're wasting time by even trying to be around him because it "doesn't matter" when he's not around, or, at least it shouldn't in his mind
Tumblr media
this is even worse than what i thought initially MY HEART
and it hurts even more bc levi might not have been able to say this if he was face to face with mc. he's never said anything quite like this to them in all the screentime he's had when he's being vulnerable around mc
imagine if he hadn't heard the conversation between them and solomon? mc leaving him would've hurt so much more bc he wouldn't have had any proper reassurance from mc to tell him that they love and care for him as much as he loves and cares for them, if he even thinks they feel that strongly about him at all
Tumblr media
i guess it was lotan. well
also ending a lesson like that is insane but i digress
Tumblr media
