grape: if you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go? god, even the IDEA of taking a vacation feels so foreign. the only ‘take a vacation’ i’ve had as of late is the 2010 album by the young veins  but definitely tokyo!!! i’ve wanted to go to tokyo for years, it just seems like such a cool city and don’t even get me started on the food! and the PLUSH!!! i am NOT IMMUNE to plush oh my god! tangelo: if you could be any mythical creature, which would you be? ...a vampire. i’m so fucking transparent hgffredwse send me a fruit :)

top 5 frank songs that make your heart overflow w emotion

Oooh, I really like this question, but at the same time, I was like, “All. Of. Them.” in my head. One of the many reasons why I like Frank’s music so much. Like, he really knows where to hit you where it hurts, emotionally, but at the same time, it’s relatable. Anyway! To the question! 

1. Stage Four: Fear of Trying. I know we just talked about this song the other day, so I won’t get into the details again, ha. 

2. Medicine Square Garden. This song is an absolute roller coaster that just goes up and down in my opinion, but like, in a good way. It sounds batshit crazy at certain points and really pretty at others. 

3. Guilttripping. This is the song on Stomachaches that really hits me where it hurts in terms of lyrics and emotions. The “I've felt this bad for so long that I'm scared I'm fine.” line? I’m sure we’ve all felt that at some point. Thank you Frank for putting it into words. 

4. The Resurrectionist or an Existential Crisis in C#. This song doesn’t make me emotionally, per say, but I hold it close to my heart because it brings me comfort and it just makes me feel happy for some odd reason. 

5. No Love. One of the songs of the last year where I just did not like it at first listen, but now I fucking love it. That guitar and the drums? Fantastic. I space out to this song and just feel the heartbreak and it even tugs at my heartstrings. I’m just like, “Frank, who hurt you?” 

This got so long. Holy shit. Thank you LJ for the thought provoking question!

this is really tough but i think it's early sunsets for me. the visceral grief in gerard's vocals mixed with the beautiful melancholy of the instrumentation is absolutely amazing. plus the isolated moment at the end? the steady rise before the sudden, abrupt fall? the vividness of the imagery at the beginning? The lyrics?? it's a top 10 song for me.

🌹 dd: most underrated song:

i think all of dd doesn’t get the respect it deserves, but scarecrow is vastly underappreciated for a song THAT good. it's one of the best songs they've ever written both lyrically (holy shit- the lyrics) and musically (it's so dreamy and psychedelic without losing the fundamental sound of dd). Also, sing is good. Ardent sing defender here. I wouldn't call it the most underrated, but it felt relevant to mention akdkfk

🌺 tbp: favorite lyric

Oh it's for sure "when I grow up I want to be nothing at all"- that lyric changed me as a person like deep in my psyche when I heard it the first time. Also, the bombastic crying-out way it's performed makes it resonate even more. Such a stand out moment

hmm i guess my ambivalence to jetset is relatively unpopular? Like it is too subdued for me, it doesn't have good dynamic quality. It's not fast enough or loud enough, I always seem to forget about it or space out when listening to it. By contrast, I LOVE to the end, which I feel is relatively unpopular? Especially with how much I love it- it's in my top 5 for sure.

LJ, I genuinely laughed out loud at your reply. This is so funny. 

But, to answer the question, it just basically talks about how they were influences for the start of other bands. It also talks about the awards they’ve won over the years and how they made “Top 100″ lists for Albums and just all that and it talks a little bit about the success of Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down as a song. There is a legacy tab for Three Cheers as an album though, so I guess that’s a start!

ok so saying a theory is way too dramatic lmao but last year (or last last year?) i was thinking about getting some fob merch as a christmas gift for myself and i was talking to someone who was my friend at the time, and i was like 'look at this, so ugly!' or 'omg hideous!' and he was kinda quiet and i found out it was because he thought the merch was cute? and he was, still is, very much an instagram person, you know?

and it got me thinking. ok he is my age but maybe their current merch isnt aimed at us but at a younger demographic, more avid instagram users with a different sense of aesthetic. bc idk, im not on ig a lot but it seems to me that the fashion there is very chaotic, same kind of ugly lol
