#i will never financially recover from this #but at least i have things #i got a neat license plate and a tile representing my clan #as well as wishing stones and a keychain #and a very nice handmade leather bag that totally fits me and my aesthetic #i also got my tribal id card :) #so now i can qualify for health insurance again and go to tribal clinics! #i think the next time i come out here im going to pick up some wool blankets #pendleton wool is very nice #and some songbooks and language books so we can learn our tribe's language #and maybe also a bone knife

okay i'm going to ask here bc i'm not having luck online.

i am in the market for a heavy wool blanket. i am having mixed success finding a company that sells blankets of the type i'm looking for. if you have a wool blanket you like, here is where i am asking for feedback and recs.

RULES:

not a throw blanket, a bed blanket

must be 100% wool (this rules out most of pendleton's modern inventory)

ideally would be 'heavyweight' aka 9+ lbs for a full/queen blanket (HBC does not list blanket weights for new stock online)

must ship to canada (rules out faribault's heavyweight blankets)

ideally would not scratch me to death (merino content a plus)

IDEALLY would be on sale; i have some money set aside for this purchase and i don't mind paying for quality but jesus fuck, yk.

whatever you recommend must apply to new stock, because enshittification is really bad these days - if you have an amazing blanket that's a family hand me down, that is not useful feedback.

anyway: help me

#i'm looking for vintage or other handmade stock but i don't know as much about how to detect knockoffs for blankets. #and i'd consider handmade e.g. off etsy - there's a heavyweight blanket that's flatwoven and also recommended for use as a rug - but idk. #i would prefer something that's a decent blanket first yk. rug functionality is a plus but not actually what i'm looking for here
