On this day 151 years ago, 17-year-old George Tutin, an English law student, was feeling sick and stayed in bed until 10am.

We've been thoroughly enjoying paging through this newly acquired 1872 diary, which is completely filled out and contains a lot of observations about the weather. More interestingly, it also notes what he was up to academically and personally. Tutin took a lot of walks, spent most afternoons studying, translated and read Virgil, kept up with international affairs, trimmed sheep, and unfortunately seems to have gotten a lot of colds.

November 29, 1872

Being poorly I did not go to Thirsk but enjoyed the more inviting delights of bed till 10 o'clock.

February 26, 1872

A dull wet day, I got my watch-glass broken yesterday so I send it to get mended at Ripon by the postman.

June 18, 1872

Rather fine in the morning. In the afternoon a most terrible thunder storm took place as big as marble falling. We consequently did not get to Ripon Flower Show. Papa out in the evening after the storm. The Lords have made a mess of the Ballot Bill.

Please keep in mind, these are just for fun, I like penmanship headcanons and practicing different fonts myself

Anime only bc I just started reading Steel Ball Run

Man’s has got that cursive signature down!

A proper gentleman’s signature

I feel like he started out with bad handwriting and then Dio pulled up and had flawless penmanship and then George was like >:( and so Jonathan made his handwriting as flawless as possible

In actuality, I headcanon that is handwriting is barely legible until he meets Avdol

Avdol was like “tf is this”

His cursive is okay but not fantastic and just prefers print

Quick handwriting

Not bad, but he does not care

His signature for official documents is cleaner, but this is like, daily basis or back of a credit card

It took 7373282 tries to figure out what version I liked best of his I made

Knows cursive, but his print is better

Does that weird cursive/print combo

His official document signature has a few squiggles in there

Bro has ELEGANT handwriting

His cursive is even better

He has that middle/high school white girl print handwriting

He prob carries a fountain pen with him to sign documents

This fountain pen. Is. STUNNING. ✨ The medium nib is juicy and wet, and the slim body is solid Sterling Silver 925, making it delicate to hold yet luxe and weighty enough to deliver the perfect writing experience. I feel pretty and elegant while recording my thoughts using this stunner, and I get excited to open my journal(s) everyday just to use it. 🥰 Now I’m wondering how Waldmann’s Fine nibs write? I noticed they’ve recently come out with even more colors (hello pink) and I’m drooling thinking about using one!

The Colorverse Tang Pyeong ink is subtle and soft with delightful shading. As always, shading appears best in print writing, but cursive writing really brings out the base shade. I always write using both styles in my journal. Print for emphasis (since it gives such a rich, bold, saturated finish), and cursive for my main body of writing.

And yes. I saved the best, creamiest, and softest bite of my cream cheese slathered and toasted bagel just for you. You’re welcome. 🥯☕️

recently been playing around with signatures so i can make mine as obnoxiously complicated as possible and figured why not make UB's signatures based on their personalities. i think it came out ok :)
