“that’s not a good reason to dislike a ship-“ i don’t need a reason, anyway, period. i do what i want. if i don’t like something, i don’t have to. theres no obligation for me to like it and i should always try to keep that in mind. the only thing i should worry about is not being a cunt to people who DO enjoy the ship. step down.

i think people misunderstand me when i say sharks aren't generally dangerous. im not calling them little baby puppies of the sea that do no harm, im saying they are not the man eating monsters media portrays them as. They are still called apex predators for a reason.
be smart and be safe in the ocean, you're in their domain, but don't go screaming that every shark will hunt you down and brutally maim you if you set foot in the water. they wont. they're curious, most of the time.
also, sharks are attracted to splashing, it looks like prey. people on surf boards often look like seals. people swimming can also look like a seal or other food to a shark. they do not have a taste for humans, you just look like something they do have a taste for.
sit down and calm down. sharks are not the problem. its not shark infested waters, its their home and domain. you go in the ocean there's gonna be sharks.
also also, if you poor a bucket of fish scraps/throw a carcass into the water, guess what's going to happen? sharks are going to eat it!!! shocker right?
anyway thats enough of my rant, i love sharks and will defend them for the rest of my life. tik tok is stupid and full of misinformation :3

weird how you reblog posts saying Israel was founded on genocide while also reblogging posts saying the IDF has some measure of honor. like did you see the video of how they shot an Israeli citizen thinking he was Palestinian? Yuval Doron Castleman wa shis name, and the video is not hard to find. the had his hands up in the air, and he was shot multiple times. this happened in the past 24 hours. was there a specific point where the state of Israel became good?
you talk about Jewish people feeling unsafe around anti-Israel talk, but do you ever wonder if people of color feel unsafe around you, and your excusing of ceuel and dehumanizing police forces?
you are very funny to me, you kind of people little anon. So full of yourself yet cannot comprehend complex concepts of grey morality.
I don't fully agree with everything I reblog, I reblog things I believe are important to talk about.
The founding of Israel has several faces that should be acknowledged. It was both a victory to an indigenous land back movement and offered a desperately needed sanctuary for hundred of thousands that would flee, and horrible disaster to another indigenous group. This does not contradict. For peace to exists we must acknowledge the co existence of those narratives. Horrible things were done in 1947-1949, by everyone involved (Britian, Israel, Palestinians, Jordan, Egypt, Syrian, Lebanon), and ignoring or diminishing it is foolish. On the other side, blowing it up is just as stupid and destructive.
using the correct term is important, as using the wrong terms might leads fools such as yourself to misunderstand the problem, and worsen the actual problem by "trying to help".
the IDF takes extreme measures to be careful with civilian life while simultaneously being careless with it. Again, both things are true as the same time.
Me saying that I do not consider the actions in Gaza genocide, does not mean I agree with all of them. as explained in this post (and it various reblogs), the use of the word "Genocide" is done as a way to shut down conversations and vilify Israel. The things that are happening are horrific and I hate it, I mourn every death. But as I refuse to call this a genocide, any criticism I will have will be either dismissed or twisted and used against me. For that reason, I limit my criticism to Israeli circle and the real world.
I saw the video, of course I did. And what do you want me to say? that it is horrific? That I knew that something like this was gonna happen at some point? The soldiers fucked up, they will be trialed for that. This are problems that stem from militarized society that I fight against.
Israel is a state. It is not bad or good in your simplistic moral scale, like any other country on the planet. But Israel is my home, and I would not abandon if even if it is fucked up in here. There have been 9 months of protests before the war, people are still protesting and sighing petitions and working to build a better future here, for all of us. just like the people in Poland and in Hungary, we want a better country. The point is that you don't care, you don't want Israel to exist. You are calling or erasing Israel from the map without understanding the devastating consequences of such action. You don't care about our effort and our criticism unless you can twist if to the support of the eradication of Israel.
what you fail to understand, is how much your "anti-Israel" talk is toxic, destructive and full of antisemitism. Of course we feel unsafe! you are not criticizing Israel, you are calling for it's destruction and to the horrible consequences to the Jewish people that will follow.
I have talked about this, many Jewish and Israeli talked about it, but the amount of hate a vitriol your kind spew, the silencing methods you employ does not leave a place to our criticism. Nuanced opinions of the systems of violence, the militarization of the Israeli society, about the ties between culture and crime, of neglect, those are swept aside as they do not satisfy your "Israel bad" criteria.
Understanding the actions taken and explaining them is not endorsing or supporting said actions. it's called having an understanding.
I understand that this ask is a result of your underdeveloped moral compass, and truly hope you would be able to develop a healthy one little anon.
You don't know me, you see fractions of me through a screen, pieces of opinions I share on this wretched hell hole in hope of a good constructive criticism, in hope that by speaking out people will feel less alone.
for summery anon, life is more complex then your little fanfiction version of it. I hope you grow out of this mindset.

Can we bring back minding our own business?
Im so serious.
If you don't like a Tag, Ship, Show, Book, etc don't interact with it?
Block/mute the tags associated with them?
Stop harassing people who enjoy or read or write or draw the things you dissaprove of?
You are not on some moral highground for telling people to 'eat glass', 'get therapy', or 'k*ll yourself'. Your just being an asshole.
Take a break from yelli g at people for enjoying media in forms they choose.
Here's a great phrase you should try out maybe? "Touch Grass"

i need people to realize that no amount of dating woman negates the attraction to men. “he has a history of dating only woman” i know, you know and the character themselves know this… but does that actually matter…? it’s what being bisexual is about and i’m sorry it doesn’t fit or make sense into your twisted little cishet/comphet mind…
i don’t want to say it but it really just feels like you(people who say this) like the character as always being straight and now that he’s queer in any way, you feel betrayed or whatever because you liked him but that was when you knew he was straight and now that he is in fact queer you like him much less which tells me you’re weird to say the least!!

I'm not doing this in a reblog because it's not worth starting a fight, but I just saw a post that was saying that if your characters are under 18, they should never be naked on screen, no matter how old the actors playing them are.
And it went on for a bit about unreasonable and exploitative on-screen nudity is, and that there's no good reason to ever have young characters naked.
And it never outright said that all nudity is inherently sexual, but it was so obviously coming from a place of seeing all nudity as inherently sexual, to an extent that I find mindboggling and frankly sad.
One of my all time favorite movies is My Neighbor Totoro--which is animated, so there's no actors on screen, but our main characters are little girls. The younger sister is about 3, and the older sister is only a few years older. There's a very sweet scene of the two of them (and their father) taking a bath and laughing loudly to scare of spirits. This is a cultural in which communal bathing is normal. Nothing at all untoward about it, it's a family bonding moment, and of course they're naked, they're taking a bath.
Pan's Labyrinth also has a couple bath scenes--del Toro has a bit of a thing for using baths as places of sanctuary and introspection in his films. Our protagonist Ofelia is 10, the actress who plays her was 11 during filming. And guess what, she was never naked on set. I have seen the costume department notes for that film with my own eyes, she was wearing a skintone bathing suit and I promise you there was somebody standing by with a robe to bundle her up in as soon as cut was called; del Toro has a rep for being very conscientious about making sure his actors are comfortable on set. Point is thought, character nudity =/= actor nudity, not necessarily.
In fact, because of the laws and regulations around working with under-age actors, a lot of the time you can't have the actor nude. If it's a case of Dawson casting with a 30 year old playing a 17 year old? That 30 year old can make their own decisions about their willingness to do the scene and the character isn't real, the character is fine.
And if you're watching a scene like that and are really that fixated on the young characters' nudity, I think there's something wrong with you, not with the movie.
Are there issues with the ways in which actors--especially young women actors--are often pressured into on screen nudity? Yes. Absolutely. And it's worth it to step back and think about what role nudity is serving in a film or TV show--and, if you're on the creative end, to consider ahead of time if you need to put your cast in that vulnerable position and how you're going to protect their comfort and dignity if the answer is yes.
But nudity is not inherently sexual. On-screen nudity does not inherently require on-set nudity. On-set nudity (and partial nudity) can be done in ways that are respectful and comfortable for the actor. Children have bodies and sometimes those bodies don't have clothes; this is an entirely nuetral fact of life and there is absolutely nothing wrong with film and television reflecting that reality.
This is not the most coherent or in-depth write up I could do on this subject, but I just needed to spit these thoughts somewhere.
Somethingsomething Americans don't see their grandma's tits and it makes them weird.

You know, guys, I always learn something new within the One Piece Fandom.
Boa x Luffy is totally okay, even though Boa obsessed with him all the way back when Luffy was still 17 (she was 29), so when he was a minor. There is a 12 year gap, but do not worry because the age of consent in japan is at the age of 16. And despite having no chemistry together at all, they will totally be a couple when Luffy becomes the King of Pirates. Yes, yes.
However, shipping Pudding (16) with Sanji (21) is absolutely not okay. She is still a child, after all! This is absolutely outrageous! Scandalous! How dare people ship this abstrosity?!
I also learned that Robin is shipped with Zoro or Law, which also makes perfect sense. It is so much better than her having the hots for an ugly robot guy in panties. They don't have any cool interactions or anything, no no.
Oh, and apparently, two weeks are now 'ages ago'.
"Back in my days, when I had my exams [...] which was actually two weeks ago!"
If anyone has not noticed by now, I am being heavily sarcastic. Istg, what is wrong with people and their ships sometimes?
