Summary: Your parents pick you and your brother Mac up from school, and since it's a weekend, a fluff-filled day ensues.

Peraltiago x Fem!Child!Reader

Age: 4

Warning: Tooth-rotting fluff- ---

You sat on the steps of school, waiting for your parents to pick you up. On Fridays, it was a very spoken rule by you that both your parents had to come and pick you up from school. The routine was simple: Mondays, and Wednesdays, your mom picked you up. Tuesdays and Thursdays, your dad picked you up. And Friday, your favourite day of the week, both your parents always picked you up. No leeways, no excuses.

Your brother, Mac, sat next to you, blabbering away about Pokémon, and you listened intently. You saw your parents at the gate and jumped up, squealing. You grabbed your brother's hand, before running up to the gate, your teacher following close behind.

"Hey there, princess," grinned your dad, lifting you up in the air, grinning. He put you down and proceeded to do the same to your brother, grinning, "There's my boy!"

"Hello, Mrs. Santiago and Mr. Peralta," smiled your teacher, greeting your parents as your dad set you down on the ground and took your bag off your shoulders to put them on one of his.

"How were the twins today?" Asked your mom, smiling politely.

"An absolute gem as always," laughed your teacher. "However, if they could refrain from replicating NYPD protocol during recess it'll be better, because there is a considerable amount of confusion about certain...actions."

You immediately remembered playing cops and robbers with your friends that day, and thought it'd be a good idea to tackle Tommy Green, pin his hands behind his back, and scream at the top of your lungs, "NYPD you're under arrest!" While Mac did the same to Elizabeth Myers.

"Oh," said your mom. "We'll try our best, Miss Lake. It might be difficult because of both my husband and I being in the NYPD, but I'm sure we can manage."

"Nice one," your dad whispered and high-fived the pair of you.

The teacher bade both your parents and you a hearty goodbye, and walked back to the school while you held your mom's hand and happily talked about your day.

"Mommy, guess what! Tommy was the robber on the playground and I did what I saw Daddy and Uncle Sarge do!" You said very proudly.

"So did I!" Chime in Mac. "I tackled Lizzie cause she was his partner in crime!"

Amy looked at Jake, who was grinning very, very happily. It had been take your kid to work day, and both you and Mac had accompanied Jake and Sarge on an arrest, and the perp had tried to run. The pair of them had chased him to right in front of the car, and you guys had been sitting in the back snacking on the cheese sandwiches your mom gave you, and heard Terry say the proper police line.

"Is that right, baby?" Laughed Amy, death-glaring her husband at the same time.

You nodded excitedly, "Yeah! I did the 'NYPD you're under arrest' thingie! I felt like a police cop, mommy!"

"That's amazing!" Smiled your mom. She looked at your father and said in a low, threatening whisper, "They are never going with you on take your kid to work day. Never."

You four finally reached home, and you were quick to go to the kitchen, looking through the fridge. Your mom walked up to you and kneeled to your height, asking, "What're you looking for, hm?"

"I put the sandwiches you made for me and Mac here this morning, mommy! I can't find it!" You looked at your dad in accusation, "Daddy, you ate it!"

He looked attacked and gasped, "I would never! The food rules of this house are sacred!"

"It was a yummy sandwich!" Mac frowned.

"Yeah!" You agreed, glaring at Jake, "Daddy ate it!"

Amy stood up and looked through the fridge, finding the two sandwiches very securely hidden behind a box of salad. She produced it and earned loud gasps from both you and Mac.

"Mommy's a wizard!" You both gasped, taking the sandwich and looking at it with amazement as Amy placed two plates on the table.

"Holy shit, you're a wizard," Jake mimicked your tone.

"Jake, language," Amy said in a warning tone, glaring at your dad.

You sat next to Mac, both of you talking over each other and to each other, while Amy and Jake tried their best to understand.

After the tasty sandwiches were fully devoured, Jake scooped you up and said, "Bath time!"

"No..." you groaned, dropping all your dead weight on him, nearly making him stumble. "I wanna take a bath with Mommy..."

Amy picked Mac up, who whined, "I wanna take a bath with Daddy..."

"Kids, come on, please, let's not be so specific," sighed your mom. She looked at your brother, "I'm gonna be giving you a bath, baby boy."

Jake kissed your head and grinned, "And I will make your bath as fun as possible, princess."

You grumbled, "Fine."

Your dad looked at you with wide eyes and whispered, "Abort mission, Code Manners, Code Manners-"

"How have we taught you to reply, sweetheart?" Your mom said calmly, walking over to Jake and standing in front of you so you could meet her gaze.

"Okay, mommy..." you said, apologetically. "I'm sorry..."

Amy's face broke into a smile and she kissed your forehead, "See? That wasn't so hard, was it? Now, if you do cooperate with Daddy and Mommy to take a bath, maybe we all can go out for dinner and ice cream tonight."

At the mention of ice cream, you let go of the dead weight and immediately let your dad take you to the bathroom to bathe.

"So, any homework for you, my little cuties?" Amy asked, getting both of you to sit at the dining table.

You and Mac looked at each other, confused.

Jake produced the little notebook your teacher had given you from Mac's bag, and flipped through it, finding the page with the day's date marked on it.

"They have some handwriting work and...colouring," he said, looking at his wife. "Man, I miss kindergarten."

"I wanna do it tomorrow..." you and Mac whined, practically draping yourselves against Amy's legs, looking up at her with pleading eyes. "Mommy, can we please do the homework tomorrow?"

Jake and Amy both took a deep breath, gunning up their patience to deal with two very fussy 4-year-olds.

"No," Jake said firmly. "And if I see a struggle here, then no ice cream after dinner."

At that very real threat, you and your brother were at the table and finished your homework as fast as possible.

"Can we play now, Mommy?" Mac asked, sitting in Amy's lap, proudly showing her his work, while you did the same with Jake.

"Sure, baby," she smiled. "And that's some impressive colouring work, you guys!"

"Seriously, I did not know you birthed twin Picassos," Jake laughed, "That homework looks amazing, you guys. Keep it safely in your bags and then you can go play."

You got an idea and suggested, "Let's play hide-and-seek!"

In unison, you, your brother, and your father yelled, "Mommy's it!" and made a mad dash for your hiding places, while Amy laughed and counted loudly to ten.

You hid with your brother in the supply closet, while Jake hid somewhere in the guest room. Amy prowled around soundlessly, catching Jake first, who yelled loudly, "Oh no, she got me! Kids, save yourselves!"

You and Mac giggled loudly, but hastily covered your mouths. Unfortunately, the supply closet door was wrenched open, and you were scooped up by your mom, and your brother was taken up by your dad.

"Gotcha!" Both Jake and Amy grinned. You squealed and laughed as your mom began tickling you, and tried escaping.

"There's no escape from the tickle monster!" Jake exclaimed, taking you and Mac to your room where he and Amy gently pinned you down on the soft carpet, tickling you nonstop.

Once you and Mac were worn out, your parents put you down for a nap, just to keep you both rested.

Before you knew it, it was dinnertime. You woke up, shook your brother awake, ran to your parents' room and leapt on the bed, crawling under your dad's hands which had his phone in them. You grinned broadly and said, "Daddyy..." dragging out the 'y' to grab his attention.

"Yes, princess..." he mimicked your tone, putting his phone away.

"It's dinnertime..." you suggested.

Deciding to trick you, Jake looked at Amy and frowned, "Weren't we having baked beans for dinner, Ames?"

"Yeah," she replied, messing with you.

You gasped in absolute shock, before Mac pulled on your dad's shirt in irritation, "We were gonna go out for dinner!"

Amy laughed and slid out of bed, saying, "Alright, let's all get changed and wear some nice clothes."

"Yes!" you squealed, running after her, as she went to your room to get you something nice to wear.

She settled on dressing you in comfy clothes, on request of Jake, who did indeed like dolling you up, but still prioritized comfort over anything else. With Mac, too, even she agreed dressing him comfortably would be the best option.

"Pizza for dinner?" Jake asked, earning a loud 'yes' from you and your brother.

"Alright, in the car then, kids," smiled Amy.

"Race you!" Mac said, dashing off.

"Not fair!" You whined, running after him. You parents lagged behind a bit, watching as the pair of you chased each other, racing like mad.

After pizza and ice cream, you and your brother fell asleep in the car, with you resting your head on his shoulder, and him resting his head atop yours.

"They're so cute," cooed Amy, looking at you both. Jake smiled through the rearview mirror and replied, "The cutest."

At home, you and your brother refused to sleep in your room, and so, the day ended with you sprawled atop Amy, and Mac laying atop Jake.

"All in a day's work," chuckled Amy, kissing your forehead.

"All in a day's work," smiled Jake, leaning over to press a quick kiss to his wife's lips, and to his son's head.

Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin never feels nervous. No, negative, not in a million years. So when he stands out of the office of Admiral Kazansky - the COMPACFLT - in his best suit, his forehead sweaty, he regards his crazy heartbeat as…positively wound up, yeah.

2. Icarus (complete, Top Gun, icemav)

Ice has known the story of Icarus since he was eight. He still remembers the day when his father told him the myth in his stern way.

3. The Black cat (complete, Top Gun, icemav)

After they moved in together, Maverick found a little stray black cat in their backyard and immediately decided to adopt it. Ice just rolled his eyes and said he had no interest in fluffy animals, refusing to pet its head when the cat rubbed against his leg.

4. Plans (complete, Top Gun, icemav)

Maverick never makes plans. He bases his judgment entirely on intuition. He didn't plan anything, excited at the randomness and freedom. He is flying both in the sky and on the ground.

Rooster leans forward on his chair and keeps his eyes firmly ahead. Cyclone is going on and on about tomorrow’s mission, some shit like patriotism or sacred duty, maybe. He lost concentration a long time ago but still fixes his gaze on the sturdy admiral, even when his mind is blurred by the tedious speech and meaningless lip movement.

“Wallpaper?”Pete Mitchell, endearingly called by his close friends (or friend, honestly, who is walking beside him right now) as “Maverick”, takes the cup of iced black coffee from Nick Bradshow, or “Goose”, co-founder of M+G Design Ltd.

It was raining outside. Or, more accurately, it was raining buckets, and the said buckets had the same capacity as the Amazon. Ice glanced at his watch again, surprised that it had only been five minutes since he last checked the time - feeling like a century already. The world was blurred and hazy out of the windshield, all the objects blending together like watercolours.

10. Season of joy, Season of Love (WIP, Lord of the Ring, Faramir/Eowyn)

My dearest Faramir, Winter is approaching - I can feel it from the chill in the air and the water. This morning I woke up and found my feet freezing. I have to ask Holdwyn to add logs in the fireplace - can you believe it, my dear? I never feared coldness before.

An au idea for T9S.

The stuff in season 1 would still happen, except that Jay, Gwen, Nate, and Leia have known one another since childhood. And all of this would take place in their junior year of high school instead of the summer of 1995 or smth.

In their senior year of high school, things will change. One day, the gang all goes to a house party together. They play games, drink, and all that jazz. But things take a turn for the worst when Nate drunkenly reveals the almost kiss with Leia. Nikki would dump him on the spot and Jay would be hurt too, but not say anything.

Nate and Leia both agree that there is something between them and decide to try dating. Spoiler: it wouldn’t even last a week. They’d be SO awkward and uncomfortable for a while. One day, both pull a Peraltiago (get drunk and have sex). What I see happening is that they date for a bit and having the same awkwardness Peraltiago initially has. Then they get drunk and have sex. But instead of easing the tension, it actually makes things weirder.

Leia and Nate would agree to stay friends and that’s that. But Leia winds up pregnant with Nate’s baby. Nate would obviously support her and the baby, but they would never get back together. They’d remain good coparents and friends.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY

Jake and Amy are in a hospital room. Amy is lying in a hospital bed, while Jake is sitting beside her, holding her hand.

AMY: (breathing heavily) Jake, I can't do this.

JAKE: Yes, you can, Amy. You're strong, and you've done this before.

AMY: (squeezing Jake's hand tightly) But this time, it feels different.

JAKE: (smiling) That's because it is different. This time, we're bringing our little Maya into the world.

AMY: (smiling) Our little Maya. (breathing heavily) I can't wait to meet her.

Suddenly, the doctor enters the room.

DOCTOR: (smiling) Good news, folks. It's time to start pushing.

Jake and Amy exchange nervous looks as the doctor and nurses get into position. Amy takes a deep breath and starts pushing.

AMY: (grunting) Oh, God.

JAKE: You're doing great, Amy. Keep pushing.

Amy pushes a few more times, and then they hear the sound of a baby crying.

DOCTOR: (smiling) Congratulations. You have a beautiful baby girl.

The doctor hands the baby to the nurse, who starts cleaning her up.

JAKE: (tearfully) Hi, little Maya. (to Amy) You did it, Amy. You were amazing.

Amy looks exhausted but happy as the nurse places the baby in her arms.

AMY: (tearfully) Hi, Maya. (smiling) You're perfect.

Jake leans in and gives Amy a kiss on the forehead as they both gaze down at their newborn daughter.

JAKE: (whispering) I love you, Amy.

AMY: (whispering) I love you too, Jake.

knowing that the anubis kids have lived together for years (or like <2 years in eddie/kt/nina's case), I refuse to believe that they never developed crushes on another person in the house (like aside from their respective partners). SOOO do you have any hcs about potential crushes each of the anubis kids could've had? [sidenote: i'm a firm believer that patricia and alfie had crushes on each other as kids, and I will die on this hill 😂]

yes!! i mentioned it briefly here/here but i think it's def possible that mara had one on alfie (i have no reasoning except that it gives off childhood-best-friends au!peraltiago vibes aka 'he makes me laugh' aka v cute) but it was one-sided, and amber/jerome had lil baby crushes on each other at some point as well (also no reasoning for this except for that throwaway post-ping-pong line but also i lowkey love them as a concept?).

i think alfie was the first person Patricia had feelings for but didn't actually realize it until eddie came into the picture and she was like "oh THAT'S what was happening" lmao. alfie basically-canonically had a crush on Patricia during s1 and i think that started probably as soon as they moved into the house but because they became really close friends almost instantaneously, i don't think he ever really realized it, especially because he mentioned amber was pretty *one* time and jerome started incessantly teasing him about that. unpopular opinion though but palfie crushes resolve themselves by mid-to-late season 2.

eddie only ever had eyes for patricia (while at the house) end of story the end :)

kt and joy is basically canon in 3a as well although i think joy gets over it by 3b when sibuna stuff starts ramping up and she's not in it anymore. there's a brief period of time (like a couple weeks max) sometime after amber leaving that sparks seem to fly between joy and alfie, but she convinces herself it's all in her head…it wasn't entirely, let's put it that way.

obviously joy and fabian was a thing on her part, but i do think he let it go on so far because he kinda thought he might like her too, although he wasn't sure. also at the very beginning of high school people started assuming him and mara were a thing (because nerds stick together, right) and lowkey he always assumed it would happen by the time they graduated although he never actually had feelings while those rumors were going around. also something abt how nearly every time he hung out with joy, Patricia was there, and how that complicated things too.

this is slightly off topic but i have this headcanon that there's some point while they're doing victor's chores in season 2 that Patricia tries to explain what went on the previous year with joy to eddie but because she cant actually tell him most of the details she ends up focusing way too much on her own trauma and eddie just kind of goes "that's a lot for someone who was 'just a friend', yacker". now obviously he's teasing (and entirely in good fun, and she knew it) but she can't stop thinking about it. now I'm conflicted on whether or not there were actually feelings there because i love their besties dynamic so much and i 100% want it to stay that way, but idk

tbh. mara and willow shouldve gotten together at the end of s3. that’s also irrelevant to this ask but close enough that im putting it here

OH AMBER yeah no she was definitely into nina in season 2 (if not season 1) and you can't change my mind on that lskdfjl

also i dont think either of them liked each other AT ALL but sometimes i watch a kt/alfie interaction in 3b and wonder if the writers were considering going in that direction. I'm so glad they didn't
