True to his word, Joel brings you to the local pound. You bounce giddily in the passenger seat of the truck with more energy than you’ve had in the last 18 months.

 You both peruse through the sad, shaking little animals behind the serilized gates, and you almost want to burst into tears and leave. How they were rescued, their recovery stories, certain needs and comforts, whether they’d be comfortable with children.

You find one who’s chipper to have an audience today, eagerly sniffing you through the gate and wagging his tail.

“Oh, Joel!”

Joel glances at the clipboard on his cage, noting the name: Tommy. 

“Hell no.”

“Oh come on, he’s perfect! Already part of the family!”

“Aint letting a dog named after my brother lick your face, hump your leg, and steal you away from me every night. No way.”

The handler comes over and apologies: “Tommy actually already has a family coming to pick him up tomorrow, so he’s not available.”

“Ha!” Joel puts his hands on his hips with a sassy head tilt. “Good—for the dog of course,” he adds to the annoyed handler.

 Then Joel finds an anxious little dog whos previous owner had died with no one to look after her. You two sit in the room for a while, quiet and calm and patient until the mut finds the courage, tail tucked between her legs, to rest her chin on your knee. You come in and visit Spoon, as she's appropriately named given how much she likes to conform to your leg and rest, every day for the week before you're absolutely sure she's coming home. And just like that, you two adopt her into the Miller house.

At first Spoon isn't sure of the new home, and especially unsure of the interesting smells coming from the small human in the crib but eventually she quietly relaxes.

Joel was pretty quick to establish rules that would be absolute BS.

"No dog on the couch" well that went out the window week 1. "No dog on the bed" yeah fuck that by week 3. "No food of the plate" bitch you JUST saw him give her the rest of his lasagna.

You had to scold him about giving her too much shit food for her health.

By week four, you started to notice that Spoon is taking a real liking to Joel.

More than she likes you. And Joel is eating it up. Belly rubs, cuddles, even training responses are better suited with Joel than with you. Spoon pretty much only comes to you when she feels like it, never when called. Never sits for you. She's sweet, but pretty much ignores you. And it's kinda fucking--upsetting that your dog is stealing your mans.

Until you find out the dog speaks Spanish.

"That's not fair!" You shout to Joel as Spoon excellently heeds and sits to Joel's every command, tail whipping excitedly with each praise--all in Spanish.

"Its not my fault, honey."

"You KNEW"

"How would I have known?"

Ok, fair point.

And you're kinda pissed but it's so adorable watching Joel really love and train this dog--basically everything he said he wouldn't do cuz it was supposed to be "your" dog.

And while you were scared to introduce her to the baby, Spoon acted like a pro--extremely gentle, happy tamed wags as her big head and wide eyes perched on her petite feet and watched with curious quiet eyes for hours as she slept soundly. She adapted to true guard duty better than even Joel, especially when you would breastfeed, or burp her, or just sway her in your arms. Spoon watched and kept a tight perimeter that not even Joel could intercept when it was Baby duty.

Then one day on her own, while you're reading a book on the couch, Spoon drags her body over and rests on your lap. Always looks at you, presses her snout into your stomach and lies there for hours. And it's so cute, until she's preventing Joel from coming close to you, growling protectively, and keeps being a guard dog for you whether the baby was there or not.

"The hell is wrong with her?" Joel asks, being shoved off to the less-than-deseriable side of the couch.

You shrug and stroke Spoon's ears.

It's not until you go to the doctor with woozy symptoms and an upset stomach that you figure out why Spoon's behavior towards you changed:

You're pregnant again.

Alright, so ive got something to point out about Vivs writing in HB. Almost all of the antagonists are BITCHY "conventonally perfect looking"Women. I just realized this.

- NOTE - most men are NOT antagonists unless they are related to the characters like Crimson or Pieman. The only antagonist there who is a "conventially attractive" male is Striker.

- NOTE - all the female characters especially, in HB are shallow, one sided, cardboard cutouts. (so are the males, but at least they have "interesting" backstories. The women antagonists are also being made fun of for having adictions. As someone who has a mother who abused me because of alcohol abuse, (i still love her and care about her, and she still loves and cares about me, shes the only one whos ever helped me in my family and will give you the shirt off her back) and has a father who was just diagnosed woth liver failure, this IS NOT A JOKE. Like alright, you wanna have your characters IN CHARACTER insult somone that way. Fine. That is fine, because you are establishing a character. But if you are going to take your story or tour characters serious in any sense of the word, you need to adress said character flaws, and give the insulter consequences.

- NOTE - the show is RIFE with sexism. Like daaamn. The amount of time i hear someone called "Tits" or "Tittyhaver" , or the amount of times i see the show just shitting on women is appalling, and dude. Like im not a "feminist". I have plenty of Male Ocs. In fact i have more men than women for personal reasons. (Said personal reason are below. )

SPONTANIOUS BACKSTORY ON ME AND AN OLD COWRITTER- (im trans/butch and i improv my stories with my fiance. its how we build the foundation and the details of our stories. Once upon a time ago, i had a male cowritter who was ....um.....well, a male vivziepop. He would have his characters molest the female characters as a joke, make them make racist, sexist, ableist jokes and remarks, but then the characters would get no consequences and wouldnt grow. He had a female oc who was a sexual assault victim but of course was also a bad ass fem fatale with her tits out and a "she got her sexxy back" attitude. And all of his male characters were sad uwu boys who always had their gf wifus explaining to the characters why they were just "troubled" Sound familiar? Ive worked with this exact type of cowritter, type of writter Vivzipop is. It wasnt fun. And what sucks, is, the comedy was great. We had alot of great laughs, i wont lie. But the problem at the end of the day was my cowritter just wasnt mature, and lacked the life experience or just didnt care about how to handle the content he wanted to create. He just wanted an imaginary playground to play in and truely live vicariously through his ocs. Now hes playing dnd everyday, after he abandoned his real life and his real friends because real life got too hard. )

NOTE - Vivzie, the amount of incest related jokes and implications are concerning at this point. I mean the show is 18 plus, right? Well the first "sex scene" we get and its an incest joke, IN FRONT OF CHILDREN, DONE BY WHAT THE CHILDREN PERCEIVE TO BE CHILDREN. that IS NOT funny! (i was also sexually groomed by two friends fathers, one who engaged in oncestual abuse to both his kids!) NOT FUNNY MAN. Not at all. Oh not to mention Barbie Wire. Damn talk about a serious disappointment.

NOTE - Also can we adress that Asmodeus seems to be black coded and hes a lustful demon, whos dressed like a pimp... And Vortex, the only pther black characters is a Hell hound, litterally a being who was kept in a cage until "adopted" or thrown out!

CONCLUSION - Theres is SO MUCH more, but Spindlehorse NEEDS to "think before they act!" and watch what theyre putting out there. They need to check their scripts, check their drafts, and check their final product BEFORE putting animated trash tv out in the open. Kids are watching this. Granted theyre not supposed to. But theyr ARE watching. You know how many kids (teens) are gonna get into relationships and think that this is ok? That abuse is ok, it just quirky. Spindlehorse is going to create a whole new generation of traumatized, confused, and toxic young people (im 26!) and i cant believe im saying this; The FCC was created so people like Vivian Madrano cant release grabage media like this, and expose young people who cant actually grasp the sensitive content, to its toxic after effects.

I WAS A FAN. I was so excited for Hazbin when the pilot dropped. It was a little shakey but what indie pilot wasnt back then? I liked the first season of Helluva. Some of the episodes were a miss like Spring Broken (sexual assault and addiction is not a joke) and the Cherub Episode. But the first episode was a good set up, again other than the "ill fuck you and your wife" joke. Loo Loo land came too early. We didnt know Stolas long enough or Octavia. Season 2 is BAD. The writting is bad. Characters are BAD. Direction is BAD. And by that i mean, the dialoge is horrid, the characters are poorly written and their traits are not being kept up with or are being missed or sidetracked for pLoT rEaSoNs, yuck. The direction? there is no direction. The pitch bible was BAD too. The only thing i liked about season 2 was the Moxxy mafia backstory flashback. It was ACTUALLY sinister and the mood hit for once. It was good. A flash of what the show could have been. Aaaaand they ruined it with bouncing dicks....yaaaay...

Also for anyone who wants to call me a homophobe. IM A BUTCH LESBIAN IN A 10 year HAPPY common law relationship. My best friend is NB and i have a LESBIAN SISTER. so fuck off and just accept the fact. The show in its entirety is just bad. It had potential, but because the writters behind the scenes are just immature, insensitive, hollywood wannabe, jackasses the show will never get to where it couldve gone. It went the opposite way. And its sad. Its sad that THIS is the prime example for adult animated show writting. Talk about a bad impression in the community of art, animation, and for young aspiring artist who have actual talent and who truely came from nothing. This isnt a rags to riches story. This is a selfish privlaged girl got money handed to her and she squandered it completely all while making indie artists "look like a fucking joke" (am i right Vagie?) I want Hazbin to be good. I want it to be SO BAD. Im hoping it will be with some studio oversight. ....but im doubtful.

Lily is so weird to me because she just insists on deep throatng ceos and corporations and throwing regular workers under the bus for poor decisions. Like it's the reporters fault that Disney is always claiming to have their first gay character, even though the company could easily make their own media posts correcting them. It's the designers who released the new pokemon game early despite that not ever being their call, but instead the higher ups in the company. She never brings up how the ceo of blizzard is one of the worse out there, or the real sexual predators that worked in the company, but instead wants to beat the lady who wrote her fictional wifu wrong with a rock. Its Suagers fault for SUs shitty realse schedule not the network. Like it's really weird to me that this woman who prides themselves on being super progressive apparently hates workers and either straight up defends or ignores the real people in power.

All I can think is that, remembering her posts about other breadtubers, and complaining that instead of blaming everything bad on racism they blamed things on class struggles, she somehow came to the conclusion that corporations really aren't that bad and people are just lying about how little say they have when working for them. It's also easy to see that her lack of ever having a job outside YouTube has severely impacted what she feels workers can get away with. Like she believes if they get told do something they don't agree with they can/should just say no, as if that's a thing they can do. So instead of it being the higher ups fault, it's the lower ranking people's fault for not standing up to them. It's really a gross mindset, kinda victim blaming mindset.

i have been informed in the past that apparently she worked on a fast food restaurant some time ago, but otherwise you're right on point, anon. there's only one thing i want to remark and is this: "Like it's the reporters fault that Disney is always claiming to have their first gay character, even though the company could easily make their own media posts correcting them." if someone out there believes that the reporters just made those articles without any input from the company or their marketing team then they don't understand what marketing is. companies hire those writers to write about their movies, products, etc. if you have ever been on youtube and see an ad break of the youtuber suddenly explaining all about a new service or product they want you to try out, it's basically the same thing. they could not write anything that Disney doesn't want them to say, it would literally be impossible without there being some big consequences for whoever it was responsible for the mistake. the publisher gets paid by the company, the company recieves more potential costumers, the website where the article is written gets clics. it's a perfect arrengement for everyone. the only outlayers are indie publications and random reviewers just talking about the media, but if the article was on any kind of official publication then it was most certainly agreed upon before hand. someone had to approve that, just like sponsors have to approve the ads youtubers do before the video is published. this is already a known fact when it comes to most movies of big companies or trendy products, but when it comes to disney it's absolutely absurd to suggest that they wouldn't do this. disney as a company has spend 5.5 million dollars on advertisement last year alone. they had the resources, the time and the people to make Strange World into a success and they didn't because they didn't want to. when the movie with a main queer character of color fails they get to say "well, at least we tried!" and move on to keep making cisheteronormative movies that they'll promote to ensure that those are wins for the company. meanwhile LO'll either completely ignore the movie ever existed or insist that the movie was bad by itself so of course nobody cared for it. she's a capitalist at heart so when she sees a big company like Disney of course her first instinct is to praise it first, because something right and smart they must be doing to be on the position they're in. workers, on the other hand, don't have that power so that must mean they're doing something wrong and it's actually their fault.
