hey what are your fav oasis songs? including gallaghers' solo stuff. i've never really listened to it so im looking where to start 🤝

ok so. would generally recommend going chronologically when it comes to oasis albums esp bc their first 3 albums r their best imo. but for specific songs: my big mouth, songbird, cigarettes & alcohol, live forever, champagne supernova, acquiesce, my sister lover (obviously), guess god thinks im abel, if we shadows (demo), hello, morning glory, columbia, supersonic, (its good) to be free (my fav one atm), the girl in the dirty shirt. ok i need to stop listing songs now or im never gonna stop. actually hold on. to really get into it i feel like u should start w noel's cast no shadow mtv unplugged 1996 performance and the knebworth 1996 performance of acquiesce tbh

Whats noel top 5 solo career songs ?x

I’ve already mentioned my particular love for The Dying Of The Light, so here’s five more in no particular order... As a companion piece to The Dying Of The Light I really love While The Song Remains The Same. I’m not very orientated on lyrics, but I’d say it’s got some of his best lyrics, at least of the solo albums. It’s also such a fucking good song, I’m still waiting for that acoustic performance of it to surface. Maybe one day. Dammit Noel. To stick to Chasing Yesterday: Ballad Of The Mighty I is the song that got me hooked on NGHFB and it’ll always hold a special place. I love how sleek it is, yet very driving due to the drums. The lyrics is still a bit whattheheckisheevensingingabout, but it’s very ~*mysterious*~. Speaking of mysterious, I’d say The Man Who Built The Moon is Noel’s successful attempt at writing a Bond worthy song. “Make room for the man who built the moon” should be a stupid line, but the way it’s brought and fits into the song it just conveys the vibe the entire song has. It’s definitely a favourite of mine already, and I’m really curious how it’ll translate to a live setting. The last two tracks are both from the self-titled album, because I feel like by now it’s pretty obvious how they’ve proven themselves. Aka... What A Life is a beautiful song with a great meaning (the irony that things that you love (sex,drugs,women) are bad for you) and it’s always a joy when it comes on in the set. The other is Everybody’s On The Run, which truly is a cinematic song. The bridge with Mike’s solo live makes my knees all wobbly because it’s such an immense sound. [chinhands] Yeah, I love it.

got tickets for nghfb, i thought kewl kewl. but ive just realized he’s having a concert in a place an hour from where im staying in stead of 5 hours like im gonna travel later this month -_- I shouldnt be annoyed with my self bc when i bought the ticket i wasnt aware of the place (I only found out abt the place 2 weeks ago and found out he was performing there only today) but the venue is smaller and I wouldve had a better chance of meeting him....but actually i could still go and hope to catch him? should i go? it’ll be £4 for a day bus ticket and i have nothing to lose...idk.

heeey I'm that same anon who asked you about your opinion on Who Built the Moon. I asked you that because I am half excited and half scared of that new album. I like the fact that Noel is trying to do something REALLY different from what he's been doing all his life, and as you said, he's been hinting that he's into that kind of psychedelic stuff (as in 'The Right Stuff', from Chasing Yesterday). First of all: no need to apologize! Your writing is fine and most of all: I really appreciate your thoughts. When it comes to the ‘old’ Noel: one of his main rules when it comes to writing songs is that it has to sound good even when it’s performed acoustically. So at the core it will still be Noel, because he has his own chords and way to approach writing. I don’t think it’ll all be like ‘The Right Stuff’, as that song is sort of a slower middle piece of the album. The songs in the trailer and ‘She Na Na’ are a lot catchier and easier accessible. I’d say they’re not immediately comparable with ‘The Right Stuff’. I’d more say it’s a bit like some Chemical Brothers remixes of Dig Out Your Soul? Imho Dig Out Your Soul is the closest to NGHFB Oasis ever got and as Neil McCormick refers to ‘Who Built The Moon?’: it’s basically classic Noel with some extra bits and pieces, similar to what a remix would be. I mean, it still will be different than NGHFB and Chasing Yesterday, but I’d say in Noel’s case it’s good that he’s developing himself and [snickers] spreading his wings. And well, his music is always influenced by the music he likes, and considering I love Noel’s music I doubt he’ll release something outrageous that I will hate.
