“How generous! I must remember to share my latest hydroponics designs with her.”

“You know, there are still people who think you two don’t get along.”

“Perhaps they would benefit from her gardening as well.” Hordak picked up one of the jars and sniffed at its contents. “I feel more relaxed already.”

i do want to say, this is no way in defense of c//a stans (cause god knows i don't like that ship or the shippers) but personally, when i started spop i never knew that they were supposed to be around 15-16 in s1, that even looking for it, the youngest i saw at the time was 17-18 for adora in season one (apparently nate said that adora was 17, just for the video of them celebrating her 16th birthday to come out), so that could be why they sexualize them from season one because of that. cause depending on their sources, they could use that maybe they already turned 18 by princess prom as a way to excuse themselves, that before seeing the discourse about their ages on the spop anti blogs i followed i still thought at least adora and catra was 17 at the youngest in season one, but also i never sexualized them because...they're children show characters and that just feels weird in itself, that even if they were adults, i still feel weird to openly sexualizion them online where kids could find it unless it's fanfic of them being adults that is tagged accordingly for any ship. but yeah, that's just my assumption cause god knows some of them probably is aware of their canon ages and still sexualize them without care.

i totally get what you mean! i blame the creators for making the characters' ages so ambiguous. i wouldn't have known that entrapta was supposed to be in her 30s if i didn't hear about the creators confirming it afterwards. she legit looks like a teenager, she even looks younger than perfuma, mermista, spinerella, etc. i know that some people can have young faces but this is taking it too far.

and yeah, same goes for catra, adora and the rest of the characters. the only thing is that.. they all act like teenagers, even in s5, and a lot of stans who sexualize them already know that they're teenagers. i've had people argue with me that catra shouldn't be held responsible for her actions “because she was just a child” and then turn around and call her a sexy milf.

i get that maybe some of the stans think that these characters are adults, but most of them don't. they just switch back and forth between “catra was just a teenager, she didn't know she was doing the wrong thing!” and “omg catra is so sexy i want her to top me” which is just really fucking weird.

A few heads turned to the opening door. It wasn't until the quieting voices changed to deafened silence did more heads notice the extra guests enter the ballroom. That silence was then broken by a tiny *tink* as Scorpia's pincers pinched through the stem of her champagne glass and the room echoed of glass chattering on the floor.

"Uh- I uh- I'm sorry- I'll just um," Scorpia crouched down to pick of the broken glass, but her eyes wouldn't break away from Catra and Adora's. Each piece she picked up immediately shattered into tinier pieces.

Perfuma quietly patted her arm to help her up and let her know it was okay to just leave it.

"You... your here," came a voice. She ran her hand over glittered hair, "I mean..., you're actually here!"

"Uh yeah," she scratched the back of her head a little sheepishly, "I am, Sparkles."

Then sparkles disappeared.

"Don't teleport me, Sparkles. Don't teleport me, Sparkles!"

She reappeared with hands on Catra's shoulders and a wide, toothy grin.

"DON'T-TELEPORT-ME-SPARKLES!"

They stood on a narrow beam of a decorative arch that jut from the wall. Catra's reaction to the change of perspective was not taken lightly. Her nails dug in and clung to the adjacent wall with a noticeable *scrtch*.

"Are you crazy!?" she shrieked. "A-Adora she's tryin' to kill me!"

"Glimmerrrrr...," came a weak admonishment.

"This will only take a second," she rebuffed and then turned to the small group of friends in her ball room. "She's here you guys! Everyone say happy birthday!"

And everyone, from below, raised their glasses - except for Scorpia who raised her pincer instead - and wished her one in an uproar of collected voices.

"Th-thanks," she said back. She looked at them. The smiles on their faces. She wondered if they really did this every year or if they knew she'd come around this time. Or maybe they'd chanced Adora convincing her to come. Waves of joy with a hint of guilt filled her. Guilt only because she refused so many times. They had to have understood why..., right?

Either way, it was her day.

"Alright Sparkles," she said in a way that only Glimmer could hear. Only a small taste of a growl was in her voice. "Get me down."

Glimmer smiled in a way that seemed to between pushing her off the ledge and making her land on her feet or teleporting her down nicely. "Sure thing, Horde Scum."

🌟 poof 🌟

Catra held her head and gave a mild groan. Glimmer only told her that she should be used to it by now and elbowed her. When Catra looked up again, she saw those same smiling faces looking back. She said, "What...?" in that elongated questioning voice that searched those questioning faces.

The crowd seemed reserved. Perfuma wanted to start, but so did Bow and they both stopped to let the other speak first. Then it was Scorpia, Frosta, and Sea Hawk's turn to fumble their words over each other. Then finally, it was Entrapta who broke the cringe with a shriek, "Oh, this is taking way too long! I've already done this social experiment. Catra, have some tiny hors d'oeuvres." Quickly, a flash of purple had curled around a group of micro-quiches and promptly shoved into Catra's mouth before she could protest.

And Catra, with residual anger after being teleported uncomfortably was now finding new irritation with being force fed. That was, of course, until the flavors melted over her tongue. She took a long breath from her nose, "These are-" she chewed more. "These are good." Entrapta clapped her fingertips in celebration along side her prehensile hair doing the same.

"Oh, by the way," she said as she raised a clump of her hair and dividing it eight ways like fingers of a mutated hand. She began to count off, "Frosta wants to know if you want to see the cooler ice sculpture of you and her punching things. Apparently you have a lot of spikes."

"Entrapta! it was supposed to be a surprise!"

Completely ignoring, Entrapta continued, "Mermista wants you to 'chill out' at the hot tub with her for quote unquote girl talk which I find strange. It's usually just her talking about her husband and the things he sets on fire and the current book obsession she has." A groan emanated from behind. "But we all know how you are with your," she lowered her voice even though everyone could still hear, "fear of water."  She continued, "Spinnerella and Netossa said they arranged for all of us to play laser tag later tonight and you're on their team."

"Entrapta come on!"

"Perfuma and Scorpia want you to dance with them when the music starts again. She would be starting the music? I actually felt my hips move, it was very fascinating. Anyway, Bow and Glimmer-"

Glimmer teleported her away before she could say more. Bow then explained, "Uhh, sorry about that. We're all just excited to see you. Surprised too. Good surprised. And um, welcome!

Catra had to blink to process. "I really don't know what to say."

Adora wrapped her arms around her from behind, "Happy birthday."

Bow gestured at the distant Entrapta on the other side of the room where Catra assumed Glimmer was explaining why Entrapta couldn't just spoil all their gift ideas like that. Bow asked,

They seem close to Adora cuz of being a She-Ra fan but what about the others?

Catra—big fan, thinks her redemption was inspiring, close to her because she’s DT’s best friend

Glimmer—sometimes she can be a bit rowdy, but he likes Cousin Glimmer and knows they’ll always have fun together

Bow—Char can always go to Bow if he needs to talk about something serious. He’s also the one who taught Char about tech and lighting (which Char helps out with for DT’s plays), so Bow’s kind of a mentor figure

Scorpia—they’re two peas in a pod. They get on great.

Perfuma—she makes the best tea and helps Char deal with his anxiety and fear of abandonment.

Mermista—the tired aunt who gets fed up easily with misbehaving. Thankfully, Char doesn’t do much of that, so she likes that he’s mild-mannered and unlikely to cause trouble.

Sea Hawk—the fun uncle. Irresponsible at times, but great for an adventure. He usually spends time with him when Char and Finn visit the Seamista kids.

Entrapta—Char thinks she’s really cool and wishes he understood more about tech so he could keep up with her when she starts talking about it.

Hordak—he’s a little scared of Hordak.

Wrong Hordak—lots of fun to hang out with. A great babysitter.

Frosta—he’s a little intimidated by her, but admires her strength and combativeness. I imagine sometimes Frosta leads adventures for the kids, since she’s closer to their ages than the other adults.

Casta—obviously he adores his grandma. She’s always there for him when he needs her, and she’s who he seeks out if DT isn’t home, or if he had a fight with DT.

Micah—great-uncle Micah is cool and knows all sorts of magic tricks. Very fun at birthday parties.

*first logistics bc i cant ever be casual ab anything. so the show starts w shadow weaver and hordak looking to appoint someone in catra and adoras. class? group? squad? whatever force captain, and i came up w the headcanon that the horde doesnt really celebrate or keep track of cadet's birthday, they separate it by what grade they're in. so by the start of that year, all of the cadets in that squad counted as being 18, which is when one can get promoted to force captain. cadets in the horde are like that one race horse breed basically. so the show, to me, starts in early january, literally only maybe a week in

eons ago we got this pic from the she-ra ofc twitter acc and im using it as a base. also in ep 8 frosta says she's 11 and ¾, which would mean the prom happened in february, which to me makes sense w the horde birthdays hc. all that being said this is what age they were at the start of the show, so only adora and entrapta had already had their birthdays. last thing is that adora has been confirmed to be 17-18 by the start of the show, entrapta is around 30 iirc, and most of the rest are all "young adults" which means anywhere between 18 and 25

Title: Birthday Wishes

Summary: Baylea tries to get her moms to move in.

Baylea was giggly and freshly clean as Entrapta hauled them to bed. Their birthday had been everything they'd hoped for- cake, ice cream, all their friends. Perfuma had even come to Dryl to celebrate! She cooed over their inventions, helped frost the cake, and accepted a dance with Entrapta.

And so, bent over the tiny flames, Baylea had made their wish. I wish my moms would do this every day.

But telling someone your birthday wish was, like, illegal, so they didn't. They thought they'd done a good job at pretending it was unrelated as Entrapta tucked them into the covers, asking, "How come Perfumom doesn't come here very much?"

Entrapta paused a little, but the smile didn't leave her face. "Your mom thinks my castle is creepy."

"Then how come you don't go visit her?"

"Well, I've spent my whole life here. My studies are all here. And..." She shuddered. "I've never liked open spaces."

Baylea frowned. Plumeria was open field after open field, sparsely separated by a few trees. The villages were wide and free. They'd never considered it off-putting, no more than they'd ever felt Entrapta's mechanicals wonders were 'creepy'. "Oh."

glimmer - essentially the cool aunt, but is sometimes wise.

bow - very sweet uncle who is a sucker for kip and gets them anything they want. adora's had a few conversations with him about it.

entrapta - kip calls her their grandma-aunt. she's still a little energetic about her science experiments, but only let's kip help if they keep safety in mind ( coat, goggles, etc. ).

mermista, perfuma, etc. - also essentially aunts to kip, but frosta's the one they're the closest to, due to the closer age gap ( despite it still being p big ).

seahawk - is a good-bad influence on kip. is the one who gives kip extra money on holidays/birthdays.

swift wind - as the horse is in more older age, he can't fly kip for as long as he'd like, but is always there for when needed. has helped kip when adora couldn't.

melog - good fren. lovely fren. kip loves melog.

hordak - no personal history, but since knowing of the history, kip's glad he's dead.

catra - ...complicated.

the horde trio - really likes hanging out with them.

scorpia - probably the wine aunt.

shadow weaver - she's dead as well, and kip doesn't personally know her, but adora's spoken about her in conflicting ways. as adora doesn't speak of her often, kip doesn't know how to feel about her.

double trouble - as they're not gross in this one, kip likes them.

wrong hordak - funny uncle!
