Hi! This is so much fun, though I’m probably playing the game wrong, lol. Cause OTP is a terribly strange concept for me to grasp as a multi-shipper and aside from like three oddly specific ships I tend to be pretty chill with how canon plays out around the characters. Cause shipping is for me and my notes app 😂 (also, all of these are from two fandoms… sorry. But if y’all ever want to know about specific ships just yell at me , I’ll talk about all day about nothing)

1) Echo (my otp, for real guys, they’re everything to me and all that cheesy stuff)

Teenage Dream by Katy Perry, look I have so many songs for them but right now this one is taking up all the space in my brain. I mean aside from the title (which yes… is another boner killed the power at school joke) they “drove to Cali and got drunk in the beach got a motel and built a fort out of sheets” and he’s her “missing puzzle piece”. Idk, it’s perfect for them, and in my heart and soul they dance to it at Planet 7 just smiling and laughing (sorry guys, to move on)

2) Kaliz (cause they deserve it)

Ease My Mind by Ben Platt, it really does define why I ship it so much. They just kind of bare themselves to each other and build each other up. Mixed in with quotes like “you quiet all the noise” and “I promise to fill in the gaps till we figure out how to fix you”

3) Forwood (they’re just so sweet)

Lavender Haze by Taylor Swift!!! Truly the first time I heard it I reserved it for them in my head

4) Bonlena (the! potential!)

Run For Your Life by the Fray, The imagery! With both of them falling the same day and the house being on fire (it’s like watching s6-8 play out on screen

5) Anatsobel (sorry I’m the freak mostly aboard cause of the damn echo parallels, but also, the way Isobel was finally free and lighthearted was so so so good)

Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran, It’s about every RNM couple, but they deserve it to be called out specifically for them, cause like it’s the core of their dynamic

It’s Back, Baby! RNM Heat Weekend returns during Roswell’s hottest days of the summer!

This is an event featuring Extreme Thirst, especially on the topic of Omegaverse (Alpha/Beta/Omega or A/B/O) Tropes and Dynamics! Open to all types of fan creators- whether you write fic, create fanart and moodboards, edit gifs, make vids and more, all are invited to participate!

Prompts are generally the same as last year, but in addition to new song prompts, we've added a twist: A set of Mini Challeneges that you can mix, match, combine, and layer on to each day's theme, however you feel inspired. Mini Challenges are listed below the daily prompts.

Friday, June 24- Theme: Omegaverse Dynamics - It’s an A/B/O world

Our cast of Roswell characters, but Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics are a factor. Maybe it’s the aliens. Maybe it’s the humans with the A/B/O genders and our beloved aliens are trying to fly under the radar. Maybe it’s everyone! Maybe they’re in an AU setting, or right at home in Roswell. Lean into the tropes, or invert them- but no matter what, it’s time for some A/B/O trope to crash land in fandom!

Oh anon, i think you underestimate my ability to tolerate unbearable shows. I’m also one of those people who will watch a movie or show just because an actor I enjoy is in it

I’ve also survived many, many CW shows. Truthfully, the best way to watch & enjoy a show (in MY experience) is to just avoid the fandom at all costs.

Supernatural & Glee are two shows that I quit multiple times due to the fandom and it became such a hard slog for me to finish them… but finish I did.

Even now, I’m watching Walker and it’s utter trash but I won’t engage with the fandom because I love how trashy the show is & don’t want my view tainted

Where was I going with this…? Oh right, RNM is also trash fire but its my trashfire that’s kept me going for over 2 years now.

I’ll level with you; I was at a very low point in my life when I started watching RNM. I came in as an OG fan but stayed for ‘gay Caleb’ as my mum likes to call Tyler (long time PLL watcher). It consumed me at a time when I needed the distraction, needed the hyper fixation. It got me writing again, brought my passion for fic writing back. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

I don’t believe I will ever be able to get back to how I originally felt back during season one but it can remain as I show I watch for the trashy car wreck it is

I did quit Riverdale despite its trashiness but mostly because losing Luke Perry hit me hard

Alright Nonnie! I was going to take a break from writing any rnm, but I actually really like this prompt, so here it is. I would like to make it clear that I have not seen the episode, I can’t bring myself to do it and I won’t try to force it. It’s very short, but I do like it, so I’m just putting it out there. 

‘I kissed a girl and I liked it.’

‘Uh, good morning to you too, Isobel?’ Alex said, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes. ‘Why are you on my doorstep at 8am on a Saturday quoting Katy Perry?’

‘I am not quoting Katy Perry.’ Isobel rolled her eyes, stepping past him as he motioned for her to come in. ‘I went to a gay bar last night, a girl hit on me and I kissed her and I liked it.’ Alex nodded as he moved towards the kitchen. Isobel would demand a drink, she always did.

‘Water?’

‘Yes please.’

‘So, you showed up here on a Saturday morning so you could have your sexuality crisis with someone who would… understand? Shouldn’t you go to Michael for that?’ She rolled her eyes again.

‘Michael doesn’t do feelings. All he’d say is “welcome to the club” and then he’d offer me one of those disgusting lukewarm beers.’ Isobel flopped down onto his couch and he waited until she was settled before handing her the bottle of water. ‘Plus, I kind of already knew I wasn’t completely straight.’ Alex sat down a little more carefully on a chair adjacent to her position on the couch.

‘Okay, so why did you feel the need to come here, now?’ He asked, he wasn’t trying to sound like his therapist, but he kind of sounded like his therapist.

‘I guess I just needed to see someone who wouldn’t treat it like a big deal, but who would also just, let me simmer on this for a bit. Like, you should have seen Valenti’s face when it turned out she was coming onto me and not him-’ Alex didn’t think that those record scratches they used in comedies actually happened in real life, but whatever his brain just did sure as hell felt like exactly that.

‘Hold on, Kyle was there?’ Alex didn’t mean for his voice to come out that high pitched, but there it was. ‘At a gay bar. Kyle Valenti. Doctor. Jawline to die for. That Kyle Valenti?’ Isobel smirked at him.

‘Do you know any other Kyle Valenti’s?’

‘Well, no, but it’s Kyle what the hell was he doing at a gay bar?’ Beyond the obvious, which Alex really didn’t want to let himself think about for too long. Hope was a dangerous thing.

‘Well, apparently’ Isobel said in a way that made it very clear she didn’t entirely believe it. ‘he was just avoiding the Wild Pony.’

‘But?’ Alex prompted.

‘But I did see him check out this other guy’s ass, so.’ She shrugged.

‘Huh.’ Huh. Isobel hummed in that annoyingly knowing way.

‘You should go there with him sometimes, I’m sure the outcome would be… very pleasing.’ Alex rolled his eyes, but… it wasn’t a bad idea, per se.

As far as I remember, Maria's s1 screen time was so little, because Heather was doing that Tyler Perry show and Yellowstone at the same time. I don't if she was shooting s2 uninterrupted or not, but the last season of her TP show she was a lead on premiered after s2. She was also shooting a Hallmark movie at some point. Heather is always busy, this is not a reflection of RNM's renewal chances.

She was in 10 out of 13 episodes in S1 and S2 (as per her contract), but she filmed other things in between. She’s a very busy bee! 

And yeah, her (or any of the other actors) taking on other roles has nothing to do with RNM. I’ll start to worry the day they announce Jeanine as the lead of another show. ;)

Wasn't Heather already doing multiple shows during s1 & s2? She was on that Tyler Perry show that ran forever and Yellowstone s1. I doubt this is going to be much different. Shooting multiple short-season shows is absolutely doable.

Possibly? I’ll admit I didn’t pay much attention to what she did outside of RNM. I only know that she couldn’t be part of 1x06 bc she was filming another show.

Her character on the Jamie Foxx show is a recurring role, should be no problem for her to split her time between RNM and this new project. 

And yeah, Covid is making things more difficult atm, but overall it’s absolutely normal for actors to film several things/year.
