Started the Farsi course on Rosetta Stone (bless you 2018-me, who was flush with cash and bought the lifetime subscription to all languages 🙏), and it is honestly the most audially pretty language I’ve ever started learning, even with my incredibly limited vocabulary and the basic grammatical structure that I’m learning. Every time I pick up a phrase, I’m reminded of what George Lucas said about the different components of the Star Wars franchise - “It’s like poetry. It rhymes.”
I’ve only cleared through the first “week” of the lesson plan, and while I haven’t started learning the script in earnest, the structure of the lessons lends itself to pattern recognition nicely and I’m able to pick up the occasional word by sight.

Do you know any good places for Farsi language learning?
Hello, sorry for the late reply!
I have compiled a lot of resources for Farsi in my folder (I also have added more materials for Dari and Tajik for those who are interested in those varieties).
When it comes to other resources there is Persian Language Online, Easy Persian, Loecsen, Learn Persian, Persianpod101 and LingoHut.
I don't currently learn Persian (but I am interested in it) so I can't vouch for the quality of these resources. If anyone has anything to add please do so!

Day 1 - What is the "birthday song" of your TL? (Part 2/2 - فارسی)
30 day language blog challenge by @moltre-s
I'm not even close to being proficient enough in Persian to be able to write a coherent text about this song, like I did for the Swedish födelsedagssång. Instead, I wrote out the lyrics to the Persian birthday song in order to get some writing practice and tried translating them word by word with my dictionary. I wasn't able to find a translation for every single word, but overall, I think I managed to get pretty close to the actual meaning!
Tumblr media
Here are the lyrics in text form:
تولد، تولد تولدت مبارک مبارک مبارک تولدت مبارک لبت شاد و دلت خوش تو گل پرخنده باشی بیا شمعا رو فوت کن که صد سال زنده باشی

سلام!
I recently started learning Persian, so I added a new language page in my Notion language database, and it's been filling with words! Such an interesting and beautiful language! I've been working on the handwriting too, but I'll share that once it's a little better 🙃
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eventually, I'm planning to make my wordbank resources available as templates to help others learn languages too, so if you're ever interested, drop me a message!

holy shit sina ken toki e so many fucking languages
i applaud you
ah, well, so about that. most of the languages in that list are supposed to be crossed out ! back when I made my blog you could do a few html things in the blog description, but it doesn't show up anymore, especially not on the app/mobile. so now it just looks like a long list of languages which is a bit misleading
I am definitely interested in all those languages, and have taken a few classes or self-studied most of them over the years, but I definitely don't speak all of them
should probably be edited/updated, but I'm not even sure I'd still remember how to do that...
