I've not talked to my mother in almost ten years. My grandmother died last year and she let me know about that but I didn't respond (my grandmother and I also had a complicated relationship).

But I've been recently thinking about how I literally left with nothing of my past or family when I was 17 and my grandmother had this chai necklace that I'd always loved. She always wore it and said that she'd received it after being mitzvahed.

I want to be brave enough to ask my mother for it.

Guess who’s been so busy and hasn’t been able to have much down time to herself?!? 🙋🏻‍♀️

I’m always thankful for what my life has to offer and all that it brings. I’ve just been feeling a little burnt out lately. 😪 That’s why I’m so excited for my next two days off! I have no plans or obligations! 🥳 This is just one of my favorite things, time to myself. Time to listen to myself and take care. I’m going to definitely finish the book I started a week ago, it’s so good. It’s all I wanna do every little chance I get. I’m going to book myself a massage and hopefully a facial. I was gifted a gift card during Christmas for either or so I think it’s time to put it to use. I’ll be smoking all the way through too. 😎 Who knows what else I’ll do for myself. Definitely some music therapy will be scheduled in there as well. I’m so excited! Feels like forever since I have had time like this for myself. And not to mention, my sister and nieces will be coming down next Saturday for the Fourth of July! It’s my sisters birthday and the my nieces have never been to Florida. Got us tickets to a water park and we’re hitting up Disney Springs. Ugh, I just can’t wait! My heart is full ♥️

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).

Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

As much as I want to be a wholly joyous about the fact that Henry Kissinger is finally fucking dead, as he deserves... There's a lot of me that can't help being upset with. With the fact that he lived to 100 years old. He got better medical care, better housing, and a better, more stable life for those 100 years than billions on this planet ever going to see and he did it specifically through exploitation, state sanctioned murder, and lies. He lived to 100 years comfortably on a legacy of violence that rarely threatened his personal comfort. I want to be joyous that he's finally dead, because the world IS better with him dead, but the reality is he won a long time ago.
