About your tags on my post: I don't know when Unique came out either. She wears a dress in the next episode and no one has much of a reaction to it (that I can remember) so I just assumed that everyone knew. I thought they said it in season 3 because she was a big deal in 3x21 and everything but who knows? Maybe it's like how Kurt never really came out to anyone after his dad. People just assumed and he just stopped correcting them? Maybe that's what Unique did? Does she ever call herself trans?

Okayyy so I’ve been like skimming through the episodes since her intro and like. She basically just tells Kurt and Mercedes that she has an alter ego named Unique and explains that Unique is a girl. And when they’re telling Sue about it they still refer to Unique with he/him pronouns. But then they see Unique again and they use she/her. And Sue just calls Unique “he/she”. But everything out of Sue’s mouth is crap so we don’t need to talk about anything else she says in regards to Unique :)

I mean I’m pretty sure everyone just thought that “Unique” was just a drag persona or something. So they freak out when she wears makeup to school bc they thought it was part of a stage costume. I mean even in the fifth episode they’re still calling her Wade and using he/him pronouns. And surprisingly Finn is the only one talking sense and using correct pronouns 

And then Unique comes back in the 8th episode and Marley calls her Wade but then immediately corrects herself. And Unique says the thing about her parents: 

“They're trying to protect me. But what they need to understand is if I'm not being true to myself, at least when I'm performing, then there won't be anything left inside me to protect. So they can keep talking about sending me to a camp for little boys who like to wear dresses, but I will not and I cannot be ashamed of who I am or how I look.”

So, great, way to casually drop that Unique’s parents want to send her to some kind of conversion camp, that’s cool. Anyway it basically gets dropped after that, and everyone’s cool with it. At least until Feud when Ryder has to be transphobic for one episode. 

But yeah I went through the episodes and they literally don’t say “trans” until Sweet Dreams. When Unique says she’s taking birth control to make her boobs bigger and that “trans kids everywhere are doing it” 

So. Just the other week, I was going through ancient facebook messenger conversations of mine and deleting them. Stuff dating back to like 2009. And one of the last convos I had with one friend was about the new episodes of Glee, circa late 2012. So we were talking about s4 and the newbies and The Role You Were Born To Play and we were literally both like “haha it’s so funny that Figgins thinks Unique is really a girl haha :)” 

so like. Yikes. I mean obviously the main issue was me just being an uninformed, ignorant teenager who didn’t understand that stuff because I really hadn’t been exposed to it at all. But I also don’t think they did a great job of explaining it in the show. But either way, it definitely went over my head as a kid. So lump me in there with the fictional teenage boys written by fifty year old men, I was part of the problem

Unpopular opinion about Will Byers?

hmmmmm i guess....i dont think will should get/needs a boyfriend. first of all he’s just a kid so it kinda sketches me out how many grown adults are like Insisting that he get a boyfriend but also i just think it wouldnt make sense at this point in the narrative? maybe another unpopular opinion is that i think will’s sexuality is being written kind of perfectly. its Real! hes a kid in a small town in the 80s who’s literally been targeted with homophobic slurs so it’s perfectly reasonable that he’s taking a long time coming to terms with his identity. if there were to just be a random character introduced with the Sole Purpose of being will’s boyfriend, not only would that character probably be pretty half-baked and not good, but it would contradict a slowly built up storyline that a lot of people can relate to.

I disagree, I don’t really ship Mike with anyone other than Tina because of how his character wasn’t really delved into all that much outside of their relationship. They aren’t my favorite ship on the show & I have my fair share of problems with them, but I do like how Tina always supported him with college and helped him become comfortable with his voice. Girl committed forgery for him! I love that

New Year’s Resolution #1: supervise a student clinician

I’ve never done it but I really love mentoring and I have enough experience now that I am prepared to take that on. I’ve also thought a lot this year about other settings I might enjoy working in and this would be a good first step towards thinking about whether I might want to pursue becoming a clinical supervisor in a speech therapy graduate program.

The Hurt Locker Part 1, Ballad, and New New York for the episode ask thing?

omg you had to be looking at my full ranking list, right?? these are my absolute least fave, absolute middle, and absolute fave for those not in the know. so worst first... THLp1 - 

My favorite song: I’m literally about to cry looking at this song list it is so rock lobster bottom. But I guesssss Thousand Miles ugh

My favorite quote: Sue’s quote about Will being a predator and about ignoring Matt into oblivion

My favorite moment: Rachel telling Sam that she watches Patti Lupone videos and it shows Rachel on her bed in her jammies with her laptop and hugging a stuffed monkey it’s so cute. Also Sue’s monologue about how Will insulted her bc he left a plastic fork on the table. 

My least favorite moment: Everything else

My favorite character: Umm Blaine? For no reason besides I love him

Ballad - 

My favorite song: Don’t Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl. It’s a great song and I’m tired of pretending like it’s not

My favorite quote: “I needed you. I needed my mom!” literally can’t visualize this scene without tearing up ugh

My favorite moment: Kurt ironing his socks

My least favorite moment: The present Suzy Pepper stuff. I feel like she could’ve easily been left in Will’s flashbacks and it doesn’t make sense to me that she’s still at McKinley

My favorite character: Quinn. Bless her heart she goes through so much

My favorite song: I feel like all the songs are nice but none are my ultra faves. Buuut I like Downtown and People and of course YMMFSY

My favorite moment: Every Klaine moment. Blaine’s scene with Elliott. Rachel riding the subway with Artie was cute. The whole ep is just wonderful

My least favorite moment: There isn’t really anything I don’t like. Maybe the Blam duet. I just don’t like that song :P Oh also Kurt is the only main character that doesn’t get an inner monologue voiceover isn’t that fun for everyone (:
