Any constructive criticism on my setup? It’s for a 9 month old leopard geckoo

Roughly 35 gallon tank, warm wide to the left, wet hide to the right. Decorated with river rocks, air plants I put in just today, spider wood, and this weird little fake overarching vine thing

I do wanna switch to a loose substrate when she hits a year old, but for now I’m sticking to paper towel. Since I wanna really make sure I got her care down pat, before i introduce her to something she might eat if I don’t care for her well

Hey artists with pets how do you balance pet time and drawing time bc my puppy is very energetic and needs attention and I try my best to give it to her but I also want to find more time to make art which as we all know is a very long process that can sometimes take up the whole day so I just want some advice maybe? My sister is usually around to help but she's off on a vacation right now so it's just me and my mum but I'd feel bad if I just left all the puppy time to her

okay, so i have an almost 4 month old rabbit and i feel like i cant make any progress with bonding with her. originally she was in a very small play pen but i did my research and she now free roams my bedroom except for when im at school (im in college) and im never out all day. when im not home i keep her in her (much bigger now!) playpen with plenty of hay, water, pellets, chew toys and her bed. i try to cuddle with her when shes roaming and she wont have it. sometimes she'll be affectionate with me but then sometimes she'll become aggressive and bite and lunge at me for no reason. shes also extremely aggressive if i reach into her playpen for literally anything!! ive also tried to litter train her, i have the bumbox and am constantly cleaning up her poop and pee to try and get her to understand she needs to go in there instead, and her hay is right above her litterbox in a large hay bag. (i cant leave her hay in the litterbox because she's a digger.) in the couple months that i've had her i haven't been able to groom her or cut her nails at all because she wont let me and attacks me if i try. shes not quite old enough yet to be fixed, so im not sure what i can do about any of this behavior until i can get her spayed. i really love my bun and am not sure how i can bond with her more than this! any constructive!! criticism would be greatly appreciated, i want my bunny to love me :,(

My dads dog was attacked by a pitbull that wasn’t leashed. His eyes are bleeding and so is his mouth, the closest emergency vet is two hours away. The police also did nothing as usual. There is blood EVERYWHERE. My dad is disabled and has the mental capacity of around 12-13 years old so I have to take care of this myself and I have no idea what to do. I don’t have money for his vet bills.

So we've got a new kitten (whose name might end up as Odin), and it's so funny yet worrying. We thought my cat would be fine cause when my grandma's old cat comes to visit he is OBSESSED with her, even tho she does nothing but hiss, snarl, and bat at him. But of course we get this tiny boy home and the first things my cat does is puff up, hiss at him (and I need to state, I haven't heard my cat hiss in so long, he just doesn't do it), and then hide under my bed. Bit worried.

Hi! I have just gotten my own Artificer and I need to tell you proper slugcat care.

GET ARTIFICERS FROM SHOPS. They might be more likely to bite or explode then adopted Arti's, but pet shops take away their children or never give them any. Artificers are very hormonal and need to take caring for something to remain stable mental health. DON'T USE SCUG MANNEQUINS, they have been proven to decrease mental health due to being still and unmoving. Instead you should either let them care for Slugpups or you. Slugpups of course will have drawbacks but it is the best option for care.

I hoped this helped anyone who has or wants an Artificer.

fishkeepers pls help, im on the verge of a breakdown over the absolute state of my big tank atm 😭

all my fish are fine & water parameters are normal so it's mostly a cosmetic issue but it's stressing me out & nothing I'm trying seems to work! I've done huge water changes & smaller ones, squeezing out the filter sponges, dosing with clarity (twice), keeping the light off, scrubbing all the algae off the glass, dosing with biostarter, and I'm now trying purigen in the filter. last time i had a smaller algae bloom, i blacked out the back of the tank that was facing a window & that fixed it, but this is so much worse!

does anyone have advice on how to fix this?? not being able to see everyone freaks me out a lot haha

How do i apologize to my old cat for playing too rough with her when she wasn’t in the mood?

I have a cat whom i love very much. She is also kinda old. I should have taken that into account before i did this. She is in general a very chill cat and lets me do all types of dumb stuff, one being lifting up her two back legs so she walks w just her front paws (aka the “wheelbarrow”). I had already played a bit rough with her a moment before this and she had already by then signaled that she wasnt in the mood. So when i did the wheelbarrol thing she got mad at me. She didnt hiss but she got fed up at went for my arm with a bite and the claws (not breaking skin, she only got on my sleeve).

She is now in a different room. I feel bad and i know she will snuggle with me later today. But i wished i could convey to her that im really really sorry and i will be more considerate from now on.

Should i give her some treats maybe?

I want to get a snail pet

I've been thinking for quite some time that I want to get a snail pet. I think I want to share pictures of it, when I get it.

I know that you should feed it fresh plants (lettuce, of the sort) that you should wash your hands before and after touching the snail and that they're nocturnal.

I wonder if there is any other advice I should know?

i was hoping someone might have some advice? I have one cat whose 5 years old. I have always had cats in this house, and never had a urinary issue. about six months ago, my cat has stated urinating at inconsistent locations in the house, like once a week? we got a new litter box and worked with her like a month to transition. not exactly in a place myself to fund vet visits, esp when it seems like an issue that would incur several visits? my only idea is that I just can't give her enough attention... it's just me and my parents, who all work full time during the day.

easter baskets make great cat beds btw... just put something soft in the bottom, like a blanket or an old t-shirt !

⛰️Substrate / Flooring

So! You’re setting up your first gecko enclosure or maybe you’re just looking to change substrates and don’t know what to choose. I’ve tried many different types and so I’d like to say I have some pretty good advice.

Let’s get something out of the way…

‼️Do not use dirt from outside inside of your tanks. I have seen this happen too many times and it rarely ends well. Risks include parasites, insects, pesticides, and more.‼️

🧻 Paper towels. While they may not be the prettiest, they make a great substrate as they are cheap and easily accessible. If you have a sick gecko, they are also great for checking for discolored feces.

The downsides? Your gecko will definitely find a way to hide between the sheets and you must replace them every few days. ✅

🥥 Coconut fiber bricks can be purchased from your local pet shop for about $7 last I checked. The bricks expand once soaked in water and hold moisture very well which is great for tropical species like Cresties.

While impaction is possible, it has NEVER been an issue with my geckos. This is what I’d recommend for any beginners! ✅

🏜️ Sand. Absolutely not. This is never a good idea and a complete waste of your money. I can’t even list all the reasons that this is not okay. ❌

CAT OWNERS! I've tried to look it up, but i'm not getting any direct responses: Can squeezing your cats abdomen very hard make them vomit? Our cat has a vomiting problem - it's weekly if not every other day - and I don't know if this provoked a response or if it was building.

New tortoise parent here, I've had my Herman's tortoise, Sheldon since late January, I've been doing independent research on what types of enclosures are best for my little guy, currently it's pretty basic. I'm actually a bit sad about how bare bones it is, there's very little enrichment for him, but ever time I try to put any plants in his home he crushes them. Should I try to put larger more established plants in, so far what I've tried has been some pretty small. I've also been wanting to put some rocks in his enclosure as well but whenever I look up what types of rocks to put in the information is conflicting. I have a decent amount of smooth river stoned I've thoroughly cleaned, but I want to be sure they're safe before I put them in. I don't want to use fake plants because I'm worried he'd try to eat them. Anyone have advice, I just want to give my dude the best home I can. He means a lot to me.
