cat: *wails*
me: I know, life is so hard. You are so very small, and everyone loves you so very much
cat: *wails even more inconsolably*

I bought my pets (mostly the dogs) a big new dog bed for the holidays, big enough to fit everyone since my younger dog always wants to half lay on the cat. The idea being that they could both lay there together and maybe the pup would give the cat some more space (cat loves to cuddle, not be smothered). I kept the cat bed that's just barely able to fit the pup.
My cat adores the big new bed.
My (big) dogs insist on using the tiny cat bed.
Occasionally, the new bed gets used as a wrestling mat.
I also built a cat bed in my office out of a blanket and a cardboard box to put on my new desk shelves (so he'll stop laying all over my workspace) and that is also my cat's favorite thing.

I’m not in the Monster High or Monster As Teenager adjacent fandoms, but has anyone done “Daughter of The Thing (1982)” and it looks like just a teenaged girl version of Kurt Russell? No tendrils, no tentacles, just a girl with this exact fit and hair
She swears that she isn’t the daughter of The Thing (1982). She’s a totally normal human you guys. She shouldn’t even be at this school. She likes normal human things like not having her blood tested.

The idea of being owned is just so hot
My mind and body belonging to someone else, to use and abuse however they want to.
Wearing a collar to symbolize that Im not a person: Im just propriety for them, an object, a pretty decoration.
Not having to make decisions anymore, because Owner always knows better, and who am I to go against them?
Obeying instantly to every instruction, word and command because their thoughts are my thoughts, If they ask Ill do.
Always being in a state of total adoration, worshiping and treating my Owner like a God.

I cannot believe I never posted this, as it's one of my favorite art pieces I've done in years. A painting of my darling nephew, Buckley.

steve having a cat that refuses to be touched by anyone but him (it tolerates robin by extension ofc bc it has accepted the reality that they’re a package deal), and eddie gets warned by the entire party that steve’s cat hates people who aren’t steve or robin. eddie’s fully prepared to get scratched the fuck up, but the cat’s almost as friendly with him as it is with steve. huh. weird.
meanwhile, steve’s poor cat is trying to figure out a way to get its owner to stop being so sad all the time, and when one of the strange people he spends time with makes steve smile, the cat is determined to keep him around at all costs.

if you’re ever at a vet hospital and can hear dogs/cats howling and screeching and making terrible noises from the back, please be aware that 99% of the time it is NOT because:
they are dying
they are in terrible pain
they are being tortured
It almost always IS because:
someone is taking their temperature
someone is placing an IV catheter
they’re mad about being in a kennel

something so precious about puppy boys reaching a level of desperation that makes them try to get off on you during inopportune times.
sitting in a desk working while that clothed tdick ruts against your leg, grinding and seeping wetness through his underwear and onto your pants like hes in heat. little poor thing sandwiching your limb between his thighs and making the sweetest sounds, desperate for some attention and release.
its bad manners, really, but the best part is having a reason to punish him later for it.

One of the hardest things about working in a veterinary ER is delivering bad news. I feel like at least once a shift someone is blindsided by their pet being diagnosed with a condition they’ve never heard of before. In many cases this is unavoidable but I really feel that some of the most common critical emergencies I see would be easier for owners to process if they had prior knowledge about the illness.
The following infographic is far from a comprehensive list and truthfully I have a LOT more to say about diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of each of these conditions. However, this image shows just a few of the major points that I wish owners had been able to prepare for prior to hearing about them in the ER. Some of these conditions are preventable and some are not but they all require an owner to make difficult decisions in a crisis situation. If your pet fits into one of these categories, please just do a quick google about the condition, and maybe discuss with your vet signs that you can watch for at home.

one of my fave things about spiders is how they walk. theyre so thoughful and melodical about every step and i think thats really cute. they pause when they're unsure and approach everything with this poise about them.
from the perspective of my engineering degree, its also really cool how they move their legs using hydraulics of their own haemolymph (bug blood).
they also have little toe beans. thats also great.
hehehghsh look at them
