Relationship status: single. Would like to date, (actually, no, I wanna be in or at least working towards stable loving relationship) but also apps suck and I’ve struggled meeting people outside of work.
Fave color: Reds, but also historically fond of purple and green
Last Song listened to: “Take Stairs in Case of Fire” by Wheelchair Sports Camp
Songs stuck in my head: on a loop between “Punk Song of Solomon,” by Stereo Sinai and “Soledad,” by Rupa and the April Fishes
Last thing I googled: Koschei the Deathless .
Fave food: uhh…. I like a variety of seasonal fruits and dark chocolate (80% and up best), but also those things don’t always agree with me so the things I regularly eat are lactose free yogurt and applesauce that I’ve strained and mixed with sunbutter
Dream vacation: dear lord, so many places, especially since I have limited mobility in addition to paycheck to paycheck finances. I’d love to visit where my Baba and family was from, and learn more than we’ve pieced together than what was on their papers…but uh, that’s gotten complicated with the war going on. It would also be cool to visit Turkey, from my Byzantium/Ottoman Empire interests

So after this week’s episode of the gilded age and watching next week’s promo (and Agnes’ comment about Tom won’t need Marian soon) here’s what I’m thinking about how Tom/Marian will work out:
-Marian will continue to ignore the red flags about Tom
-she might accept his proposal
-she will find out he’s been similarly been using other women (like the woman at the opera) to advance his social position and breaks it off OR he breaks off the engagement after getting a better “yes” from another woman
-Marian becomes socially damaged by the scandal of a broken engagement/rumors about ‘how far they went’
-we enter season 2 or 3 with Marian’s position reversed from when she entered society, she struggles to repair her reputation
-we may see the Russells remembering her accepting them when they were on the outs OR Bertha reluctantly shunning her because her position still isn’t solid yet while Larry and Gladys still stick up for her
-enter Larry/Marian romance

1. not reblogging doesn't change the fact we have mutuals.
2. not being able to afford therapy at the time (I was saving up and comparing healthcare plans) and REFUSING to go are very different. I was on waitlists for affordable places and went to a few referral appointments while I lived there? Also, I tried to heal with my personal support group but you know how that went. Tbf, thats why professional therapists are a thing.
3. If I had a home I felt safe in to recuperate maybe you wouldve seen healing and growth and not me hiding and being reactive because you had similar tendencies to the main cause of my ptsd
4. I am sorry I drank all your booze, drinking is not a good coping mechanism
5. actually since I moved out of your apartment and created a safe home space for myself in 2020 I've been healing, finishing my education, and growing in a lot of ways.
I dont care if you talk shit about me on your blog, I did some shitty things, but keep it honest my dude.

All of this diving into Joe Rosenthal’s stuff reminded me a bit of this post I made (with much appreciation to @starstuffandalotofcoffee and @cephalopod-people for their insights and contributions there) and conversations with @johnturturro and @dvar-trek and @peterdyckmancampbell about the way that Jewish food (and Jewish culture and Judaism in general) is approached and discussed and so much is done to divorce the food (and other elements) from their specific cultural and historical context, to an extent and intensity that is notable.
Especially when there’s already several alternatives or similar items that could just as easily be used or adapted that don’t have the same connection or meaning.

And I need you to take a moment to think about why you are so offended and outraged by that suggestion. Especially if you are cis. Especially if you are peterdyckmancampbell.
Why is it so terrifying to think that a transgender person might know more about transphobia than you? Why are you afraid that your ally credentials might be yanked away if you admit you have something to learn from trans people? Why is thinking of yourself as a good ally more important to you than not actually reblogging terf propaganda?
Ignorance is not something to be ashamed of. Callousness is.
If you are peterdyckmancampbell, you make a lot of posts about feminist issues, some of which gather a lot of notes. Some of my mutuals reblogged your posts. I thought they were interesting, I checked out your blog, I saw that you had reblogged a terf post. I thought, being a feminist blogger with a large audience, you might want to be aware of this. I sent you a private message. When I hadn't gotten a response the next day, I decided to check and see if you'd decided to simply delete the post. Instead I saw a series of posts calling me a stupid creep for daring to question you. I reblogged one of them and laid out the details of the terf post, so that at least your followers might be aware of the propaganda. When you continued to insult me I blocked you. I have not contacted you since.
Anyone reading this, please do not contact her on my behalf, it will not help anything.
You can repeat "trans women are women" all you like; if you also scream that trans people are not allowed to correct you on anything, you are not a good ally.
And yes, I understood the Anita Bryant joke. I didn't think it was funny enough to justify spreading rhetoric that attacks my existence.
