i’ve read a lot of analysis of how names are used in the hunger games, especially peeta.
there’s peeta as a derivative of “peter” or “petros” meaning rock.
and peeta as a homophone of pita, as in the bread.
but has anyone talked about peeta as a derivative of “peat” - the briquettes that can be burned for cooking or electricity.
it just needs a little ~fire~ to catch.

I feel like canon petros statue was shattered because we don’t see it with the other skeletons
But we do see rocks
I mean, it's a cave, so there's bound to be rocks. But I wouldn't put it past Belos to push the statue into the pit and have it shatter at the bottom. Wouldn't put it past him to keep it up as some twisted memorial, either.

Fun Claudia Facts for the Nation:
Due to her love of The Smiths, The Cure, & Bauhaus, Claudia speaks English with just the slightest bit of a British accent mixed in with her French one.
Legally, she has no middle name, but her father always planned for it to be Guadalupe.
Speaking of names, her last name, Perreault (derived from "Petros" [Rock]), is meant to sound similar to the Spanish word "Perro", meaning dog.
Altogether, her name "Claudia Perreault" means "Lame Rock". Considering MLB's penchant for meaningful names, I thought it would be funny if Claudia's was boring and kind of sad.
While I'm not sure how best to describe it yet in prose, her own personal dancing style is very much influenced by 90's Goth. It's all very floaty and swishy with lots of arm movement.
Claudia is mildly hirsute! Most of the abnormal hair growth is on her abdomen and lower back, but that is canonically why she has prominent hair on her limbs and face. This also carried over for Cynic as well, with the miraculous often amplifying and darkening Claudia's natural body hair.
One of her passing interests pre-TWEOS was browsing the internet. Usually SomethingAwful.net or /mu/ and /x/ on 4chan.
She's thought about writing creepypastas and posting them to /x/ (or the newly created Creepypasta.com), but she thinks her writing is kind of bad so she has never tried. Just shitty poetry in her journals is enough for her.

Watching Hazbin Hotel with vague knowledge of angelic lore and having been raised Catholic is so wild. Like I can vibe with most of it, the writing is cool and shit, but then I crash into “why the fuck is Adam an Angel?!” And it’s like… fuck this is a different view on Angels and Heavenly bodies than I’m familiar with and mostly cartoon shit, but I’m still like.
Adam and Eve are guilty of Original Sin, and IF he’s in heaven he has to be proof of redemption, in some way. This was way easier to bullshit when we were exclusively in Hell dealing with demonic entities. Heavenly Bodies is bringing in questions of “what isn’t a sin, and what is forgiven, what does allow someone into Heaven” and my fucking Catholic Trauma brain is starting to go a little obsessive with what that means.
Where’s Eve? How does all this add up? How do human souls become angels? Is Adam just built different? How accurate to biblical lore is it? Which biblical lore? Saint Peter guards the gates of heaven, which is technically not canon to any biblical scripture, but I think Catholicism is the only one that has “Saints,” and I did take a like 30 minute wiki skim to check for sure that it was Saint Peter who does that because my brain seriously blanked on whether it was Peter or Paul who did that. But it makes sense it’s Peter given the whole… “Peter, born Simon, named by Jesus as the rock, foundation of the Christian Church” which is like. *An* interpretation of the translation. But the one I learned. I know it’s potentially incorrect and up for interpretation and I know neither Hebrew nor Greek nor Latin so please don’t get mad at me lmao. I know there’s like four alternative names like Simeon and Petros and Cephas but that isn’t applicable to like. This current conversation. I’m *raised* Catholic, not Catholic anymore. It’s been a while since I went to bible study. And it’s hard to find a non-theistic bible study that isn’t… so condescending I want to commit violence. (Literally, what the fuck is up with Atheists who have to be assholes about it? Like. You do not make recovery from religious trauma easier by making the outside world the most hostile and unpleasant place possible.)
That was a fucking tangent and a half but like. Yeah. I am definitely maybe asking too many questions about the biblical lore of Hazbin Hotel, and I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be like this. I just maybe like. Am fascinated. In weird ways. Due to my own weird history. Oops.

God is a name changer I will change your name When I first met my wife Christine, her name was Gilchrist. It is quite rare to meet a person whose name began with Christ and ends with Christ! When we married Christine adopted my surname and became Christine Green, so in a sense you could say that I changed Christine’s name. Another legal way of changing your name in modern times is have it changed by deed poll. In the bible name changes are highly significant and often reflect a new identity or character. God is in the business of changing the names of his covenant people. Here are some examples from the Old Testament. Genesis 17:5 The Lord changed the name of Abram meaning ‘exalted father’ to Abraham meaning ‘father of a multitude of nations.’ Genesis 17:15 The Lord changed the name of Sarai meaning ‘my princess’ to Sarah meaning ‘princess and mother of the nations.’ Genesis 32:28 The Lord changed the name of Jacob meaning ‘supplanter, cheat, heelgrabber’ to Israel ‘a prince with God, striver with God and man’ When God gives someone a new name, he gives them the nature and character to go with it. God fulfilled this for the above examples. Jesus, the son of God continued to change names in the new testament. John 1:42 Simon meaning ‘hearer’ was changed to Petros meaning ‘rock’ or ‘stone.’ You could say that when Simon heard the Living Word, he was transformed into a rock who provided solid strength to his brothers. In the book of Revelation 2:17 we are told that Jesus Christ will give each victor a new name, and a name which no one will know except the one who receives it. This suggests to me a wonderful intimacy between the Lord and the recipient. Over the centuries and millennia God has given various name changes to the nation of Israel. In Isaiah 62:2-4 No longer ‘forsaken’[1] and ‘deserted’[2] but a ‘delight’[3] and ‘married’[4]. In Hosea 1:6-9 the Lord calls Israel the following names v6 Lohrumah meaning ‘not obtained compassion’, v9 Lo-ammi meaning ‘not my people’. But in Hosea 1:10 and in Hosea 2:1 God shows the future name changes he will bring for Israel. In 1:10 they will be called ‘sons of the Living God’ and in 2:1 ‘ammi’ meaning ‘my people https://www.instagram.com/p/CnwzO03ogQ0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This sample consists of black wrinkly microbial mats, and green grey claystone from the 1.4 billion year old Velkerri formation, from northern Australia. The mats were dominated by cyanobacteria living on the bed of a shallow sea that covered northern Australia at the time. The organic matter contained lots of sulphur which was converted into pyrite during burial. You can sea the pyrite as the sparkly gold flecks in the close up of the black mats. This area of the sea was far from land so instead of depositing grains eroded from existing rocks, like sand, sediment chemically precipitated from the sea water. The sea was rich in iron and silica and so iron silicate clays formed on the sea bed. The iron is green because they're was little oxygen around for it to react with. This process of chemical sedimentation is very slow and so there was plenty of time for the mats to grow across the sea bed. This also means that other material can accumulate on the sediment that would be lost in areas of rapid sedimentation. So I've also found lots of volcanic ash and spherules in these layers. I've also found mysterious grains in these samples which may be impact spherules from a meteor impact, or perhaps even micrometeors too. We don't know what the banding represents. It could be seasonal growth of the mats, it could reflect how nutrient abundance changes, or could effect changes in the rate if sedimentation. It could even reflect all our none of the above. I'm going through these samples, documenting the sedimentary textures and deciding which samples I want to turn into thin sections to examine under the petro microscope, and then to digest in acid to extract the fossils from. #geologyjohnson #geologist #geology #geologyrocks #sedimentary #microbial #microbialmat #precambrian #mesoproterozoic #fossil #fossils #stromatolite #Australia #green #shale #mudstone #earlylife #proterozoic https://www.instagram.com/p/Cc-dI2mNRVF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Ezekiel 44:1-45:12, 1 Peter 1:1-12, Psalm 119:17-32, Proverbs 28:8-10
Today is the 22nd day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It's great to be here with you today as we continue the journey, continue taking steps forward, every step will be made before the end of this year, and we will complete the Bible. And there’s not too many days left, but we’re not there yet. And there's plenty, plenty that the Lord would like to speak into our lives before we reach the conclusion of this year. And so, let's take that next step forward and hang out, hang out till the end today. I have a story to tell, a long story of the last couple of years and some future plans and where we’re, where we’re going in the coming year. So, hang out for that at the end but we’re at the beginning. Let’s dive in, today, Ezekiel chapter 44 verse 1 through 45 verse 12.
Introduction to First Peter:
Okay, so, we finished the book of James yesterday, that brings us another step closer to the end of the New Testament. And that brings us to become reunited with an old friend, the apostle Peter. We met, well, we met Peter in the Gospels and we’ve gotten to know him through the book of Acts. We've kind of seen his personality and some of these other depictions of who he is. We’re now at his letters. So, getting to know his voice in written form. The first letter is known as First Peter. And so, Peters name Simon or Simeon was his given name but by the time he became part of Jesus disciples, Jesus had given him the name Cephas. And in Aramaic that means rock. And when Aramaic is translated into Greek of the New Testament, the word is Petros. And then we can see how Peter and Petros have their connections in the English translation Peter.

Old man: Ah! Are you familiar?
Alexander: Yes. This is philosophy. The philosopher’s stone.
Old man: Huh? Philosopher’s Stone?
Alexander: Keys to Paradise, Philosopher’s Stone. Are you familiar with such things?
Old man: And Petri? Do you know what Petri is? Why did he say, “Peter is on this rock?” Petri. Do you know what petrification is? Well, you are young people. It is not because I’m old and I know a lot, but ... recently, I was asking why he named the stone Peter’s Stone. The Greek word for stone is Petri. And he said, “You are Peter,” so you must understand that you are a stone. There is such a language, Aramaic. Have you heard about it?
Alexander: No.
Elderly man: Ah, very young, since they have not heard the Aramaic language. It is one of the Hebrew languages in which... It was the language of the Middle East. You know Arabia, Israel. So, apparently, the Gospel was written in Greek, not the Bible, but the Gospel. And in Greek, they told me that a Petri is a boulder or a stone. And therefore, understanding this, Jesus Christ means that ...
Alexander: Peter is here (points to the cathedral) with the keys.
Old man: Church means assembly.
Alexander: A gathering of people?
Elderly man: A gathering of believers. (Points to the church) Like-minded people who believe in God. Who truly believe, who meet regularly and discuss theology. The church is a temple. Petrikerka in German, the church of St. Peter. Petri is Petro, a stone, and Petri at the same time.

Build Your Life On The Right Foundation
WELCOME
New Year's Reflection.
*What are my faith goals this year?
answer: For me my faith goals this year is to be more closer & have intimate time with God
WORD
Matthew 7:24-29 New International Version (NIV)
The Wise and Foolish Builders
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
Have you ever had a moment of crisis & you either folded in fright or rose to the occasion? What is inside of us will show in moments of natural disaster, death of a loved one, robbery of your personal belongings, fire burning down your house or the love of your life falling for somebody else. This is why we need to make sure that we have inside of us a sure & strong foundation & just how do we do that? Everyone of us is building our life on something. It could be fame, money, career, business or ministry. But are these things the right foundation? If the foundation is wrong, then everything that comes after would not be right. Building a foundation that is correct & strong should firstly be centered on Jesus.
Come To Jesus
Jesus is the right foundation, He invites us all to come to Him & build our lives in Him.
Matthew 16:18 New International Version (NIV) says
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
In the original Greek text of the Bible, the word translated as "rock" in this verse, is 'petra' which means a mass of rock. "Peter" on the other hand is 'petros' in Greek which means pebble or a small, detached stone. Jesus is saying here that He will build His church on 'petra' & not on 'petros'. Jesus Himself is the rock. What then is stopping us from building on Him, the stable, concrete, mass of rock? Only Jesus can cause a positive change in us,
2 Corinthians 5:17 New International Version (NIV) says,
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here!
Only Jesus can give us what we need,
John 10:10 New International Version (NIV) says
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Only Jesus can give us rest & relief
Matthew 11:28 New International Version (NIV) says
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Only Jesus can give us lasting happiness
John 15:11 New International Version (NIV) says
11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
If we want to see real change in us, we need to build our life on the right foundation. This is done by hearing Jesus. We need to open our ears & hearts.
Hear Jesus
We have spiritual disciplines that we use to dig deep in Jesus. We need to anchor ourselves in Him. These disciplines are Praying, being in His word, worship, PHYSICAL FELLOWSHIP
Hebrews 10:25 New International Version (NIV) says
25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
& fasting. Jesus is the anchor of our soul. He is a solid anchor. Anchors & links hold ships steady in times of storm. We must also practice building strong links through reading the God's word & spending intimate time with the Lord.
But hearing alone is not good enough. We need to do something about it..
Act On them
James 1:22 New International Version (NIV) says
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
There might be times that you are just going through the motions, superficially doing things. But you know that you are not really digging deep in obeying God. If we want to build our life, we need to act. If we do not obey & would continue to play games with God then we will reap the consequences of our actions. C.S. Lewis said, "There are two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done' & to those to whom God says, 'Thy will be done.'
Which one are ? you Will you allow God to work or will He leave you & allow you to suffer the severe consequences of your choices? Pain happens, it is a part of the process of perfection & when pain comes, trust God. By trusting God, you solidify the foundation you have in Him. Build your life on the right foundation by coming to Jesus, hearing His words & acting on them.
Discussion Question:
Self-Check 1.) What is the foundation you have? Is it built in the right foundation?
ans: for me the foundation that I have is from Jesus Christ alone; it is built in the right foundation
Setting It Right 2.) What do you need to do to be on the right foundation? What do you need to change so that your foundation is right?
ans: for me I need to read my bible using the reading plan in my other church (BFGFC & CCF); I need to attend PHYSICAL DGROUP just as the GOD'S WORD TOLD ME in HEBREWS 10:25. I need to change my attitude & character especially the way I think about other people.
Living-Out 3.) What will you do this week to build on your right foundation? Give specific action points.
ans: for me I will do this week to build my right foundation is to read my bible following the reading plan from BFGC CHURCH & CCF CHURCH,

Meditation: Who is Jesus for you? John calls Jesus the Lamb of God and thus signifies Jesus' mission as the One who redeems us from our sins. The blood of the Passover Lamb (Exodus 12) delivered the Israelites from their oppression in Egypt and from the plague of death. The Lord Jesus freely offered up his life for us on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 Corinthians 5:7). The blood which he poured out for us on the cross cleanses, heals, and frees us from our slavery to sin, and from the "wages of sin which is death" (Romans 6:23) and the "destruction of both body and soul in hell" (Matthew 10:28).
It is significant that John was the son of the priest, Zachariah, who participated in the daily sacrifice of a lamb in the temple for the sins of the people (Exodus 29). In Jesus John saw the true and only sacrifice which could deliver us from bondage to sin, death, and the powers of hell. How did John know the true identity of Jesus, as the Son of God and Savior of the world (John 1:29)? The Holy Spirit revealed to John Jesus' true nature, such that John bore witness that this is the Son of God. How can we be certain that Jesus is truly the Christ, the Son of the living God? The Holy Spirit makes the Lord Jesus Christ known to us through the gift of faith. God gives us freely of his Spirit that we may comprehend - with enlightened minds and eyes of faith - the great mystery and plan of God to unite all things in his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
"What do you seek?"
John in his characteristic humility was eager to point beyond himself to the Christ (means Anointed One and Messiah). He did not hesitate to direct his own disciples to the Lord Jesus. When two of John's disciples began to seek Jesus out, Jesus took the initiative to invite them into his company. He did not wait for them to get his attention. Instead he met them halfway. He asked them one of the most fundamental questions of life: "What are you looking for?" Jesus asks each one of us the same question:"What are you searching for? Do you know the meaning and purpose for your life?" Only God, the Father and Author of life, can answer that question and make our purpose fully known to us. That is why the Lord Jesus invites each one of us to draw near to himself. He wants us to know him personally - to know what he came to do for us and what he wants to offer us.
"Come and see"
"Come and see" is the Lord's invitation for each one of us to discover the joy of friendship and communion with the One who made us in love for love. Saint Augustine of Hippo reminds us that it is God, our Creator and Redeemer, who seeks us out, even when we are not looking for him: "If you hadn't been called by God, what could you have done to turn back? Didn't the very One who called you when you were opposed to Him make it possible for you to turn back?" It is God who initiates and who draws us to himself. Without his mercy and help we could not find him on our own.
When we find something of great value it's natural to want to share the good news of our discovery with our family, friends, and neighbors. When Andrew met Jesus and discovered that he was truly the Messiah, he immediately went to his brother Simon and told him the good news. Andrew brought his brother to meet Jesus so he could "come and see" for himself. When Jesus saw Simon approaching he immediately reached out to Simon in the same way he had done for Andrew earlier. Jesus looked at Simon and revealed that he knew who Simon was and where he came from even before Simon had set his eyes on Jesus. Jesus gave Simon a new name which signified that God had a personal call and mission for him. Jesus gave Simon the name "Cephas" which is the Aramaic word for "rock". Cephas is translated as Peter (Petros in Greek and Petrus in Latin) which also literally means "rock".
To call someone a "rock" was one of the greatest compliments in the ancient world. The rabbis had a saying that when God saw Abraham, he exclaimed: "I have discovered a rock to found the world upon." Through Abraham God established a nation for himself. Through faith Peter grasped who Jesus truly was - the Anointed One (Messiah and Christ) and the only begotten Son of God. The New Testament describes the church as a spiritual house or temple with each member joined together as living stones (see 1 Peter 2:5). Faith in Jesus Christ makes us into rocks or spiritual stones. The Holy Spirit gives us the gift of faith to know the Lord Jesus personally, power to live the gospel faithfully, and courage to witness the truth and joy of the Gospel to others. The Lord Jesus is ever ready to draw us to himself. Do you seek to grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord Jesus Christ?
"Lord Jesus Christ, fill me with the power of your Holy Spirit that I may grow in the knowledge of your great love and truth. Let your Spirit be aflame in my heart that I may joyfully seek to do your will in all things."
The following reflection is from One Bread, One Body courtesy of Presentation Ministries © 2023.
a close call
“When Jesus turned around and noticed them following Him, He asked them, ‘What are you looking for?’ ” —John 1:38
Andrew and another disciple of John the Baptizer followed Jesus from a distance. Likewise, today there are many long-distance followers of Jesus. Are you close to the Lord? Or are your prayers “smoke signals”?
Jesus has become a man. He even gives Himself to us in the Eucharist to be closer than close to us. He challenges us to look into our hearts and ask ourselves what we are looking for (Jn 1:38). Jesus, our Rabbi and Teacher (see Jn 1:38), will show us which of these desires are distancing us from Him. All we have to do is give ourselves the chance to hear the truth about our hearts from the Truth Himself (see Jn 2:25; 14:6). We must stay with Jesus for an extended time. We must not run away when He speaks of changing what we’re looking for, repenting of our sins, and taking up the cross daily (see Lk 9:23).
Jesus wants to give us a real “make-over,” to change our names (see Jn 1:42), our looks, and what we’re looking for. Jesus wants to draw us close to Himself. This Christmas and this new year, stay close to Jesus.
Prayer:  Father, You drew close to me in the Incarnation of Your Son. May I draw close to You (Jas 4:8).
Promise:  “It was to destroy the devil’s works that the Son of God revealed Himself.” —1 Jn 3:8
Praise:  St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was born to wealthy Episcopalian parents in New York City. After a visit to Rome, she felt called to fast and pray. The Holy Spirit led her into the Catholic Church only sixteen years before her death.

Oil Inflation and Global Economic Impact
Tumblr media
Oil prices have increased to nearly $ 100 per barrel which is good for the economic recovery after post lockdown due to the covid –19. As the world is recovering and the economy is growing so there is demand for the oil is also rising. Moreover, due to the rising of geopolitical tensions between the Ukraine and Russia and in the middle east countries which are showing fear to cutoff the oil supply for the world.
Petroleum-based products are a significant source of our country’s GDP. In fact, petroleum accounts for about 3% of GDP and is a huge revenue generator for the Florida economy because petroleum products can be found in almost everything from rubber gloves to chemicals, clothing, plastic wraps and even packaged foods like aspirin all the way down to the fuel we use, even solar panels drew their inspiration from crude oil and gas – this is because oil and gas forms naturally over millions of years from decayed remains and dead things which are under extreme amounts of pressure due to being beneath layers of hard rock.
Oil is used as raw commodity in many good such as:
Jet fuel
Plastics
Petro chemicals
Propane cooking gas
Asphalt
So, if the oil price rise, then eventually the price of these good will also increase.
Mostly oil is used in transportation, if the price is raised then the goods transported by it eventually must face the rise in the price for transportation which will faced indirectly by the consumer itself.
Rising oil prices
Now, oil is priced at nearly $100 a barrel. Why do oil prices fluctuate so much and what has caused this rise?
In the ever-changing market, no one really has a crystal ball. But there are some key things that will stay constant like change and volatility in the oil market. So, it is probably safe to say that there are three key underlying reasons:
1. Investing cycles are long and capital allocations are conservative, resulting in a limited oil supply
As the price of oil increases, the supply fluctuates. OPEC has brought on additional production slowly to calm the price hike, but they also have limited back-up capacity left and are probably anxious not to overproduce again. Beyond back up capacity, there is not much more that can be done as it takes many years to build up a new infrastructure – some sources require 10 years or more of investment before they’re able to start producing. There are unconventional sources of oil that could possibly help to quench the demand for fuel (like shale oil) but the fact that these are so heavily in demand means that prices will only rise further.
Moreover, all producers are cautious in allocating capital. First, they learned their lessons from an oversupplied market when oil prices dropped to minus $40 a barrel. Second, perhaps even more importantly, some producers maintain that there is strong pressure on the industry not to develop new fields, to hold or decrease investment in maintaining and growing production and to divert the capital towards greener investments instead.
2. Tensions in geopolitics
Geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine and increased instability in the Middle East add to oil market nervousness.
3. Oil demand is soaring because of booming economic growth
When COVID-19 started two years ago, there was a steep decline in global economics. This plunged some oil production rates and significantly limited the ability of producers to adjust their output levels. Since there is only so much that can be reduced without destroying reservoirs or drilling capabilities, storage space itself is also limited. Not to mention that the market was uncertain as to how bad the economic crisis would become and when it would end, compounding factors which drove oil prices down to the lowest bracket seen since the 1970s. At one point oil even dropped dramatically slashing costs by $40 per barrel!
This difficult period lasted for at least five months; in other words it would be about one year overall. It was followed by an economic rebound and a surprising drive for oil and oil products. It is estimated that maybe these things are back to what they were before the pandemic, or almost. In other words, more than ever before. I remember when the pandemic started, there were high expectations that climate change will cause similar energy consumption changes as they did during SARS crisis when people basically had shut down the whole world’s economy to prevent the spread of virus. Indeed, it materialized and overall consumption dropped several percent in 2020. But these gains were short lived, and today it is estimated that potentially higher than what it was before the pandemic after all – particularly carbon dioxide emissions.
What is the effect of oil price increases on inflation and how does it affect the global economy?
Oil is 3% of global GDP. So, if 3% of global GDP was twice as expensive tomorrow, clearly, this would have an impact on inflation. But I don’t think it’s a major driver for inflation when it comes to oil specifically.
In that context, rising oil prices will not be the biggest factor when it comes to inflation, but it is still important. Why? Because oil is basically in so many things, so an increase in price doesn’t impact the volume of goods and services like it does with regular products because most things we use on a daily basis are either oil based or are vastly improved by oil based products even if there may be small traces of it hidden around. Which brings us to the point – an increase in oil prices won’t just affect gas prices at gas stations; it’ll be felt virtually everywhere from grocery stores to restaurants and more! With, how can one prepare for inflation?
Relation of consumers and the oil price.
Let’s talk about the price of oil. As a rule, roughly 40-50% of consumers’ money is spent on government taxation when they buy gas for their cars. There are two important points that come with this figure: firstly, every ¤1.50 spent on a litre (that’s just under $3) goes to the supplier and ¤0.30 goes to various global governments; secondly, importing countries like the EU make more from taxing oil than exporting countries from sales! Our service provides the most up-to-date research concerning rising fuel costs along with market analysis detailing who the biggest importers and exporters are for this resource so that you can be in the know about how you can save money along with other relevant data using our product or service!
Oil prices play an important role in determining inflation. A very high rise in prices of oil will affect higher inflation other than it is more dependent on other factors as well –rate of growth, wage growth, spare capacity in the economy.
Impact on oil importers and exporters.
As a result of high oil prices, importers are faced with a challenge, while exporters are benefited. There is really no win-win situation here. Profits are distributed between countries producing and consuming oil because of price changes.
Orderly energy transition
Do rising oil prices create a market for renewables as people seek climate-friendly alternatives?
High oil prices might have a positive impact on the economics of alternative transportation technologies but not necessarily directly equate to increased demand for renewable energy. The economy in general is typically capable of adapting in the face of high commodity prices and this can happen with or without demand flowing positively into alternative solutions for fossil fuel dependence. Consider that as an option for driving down your company’s motor vehicle costs, you may dedicate yourself to adhere to using plug-in electric vehicles, but if your personal goal is really to offset costs from less reliance upon imports of crude oil refined products then spending on your own electrical generation infrastructure as a solution might seem like a much more realistic option.
Well, as they say, you get what you pay for… Cheap oil has been a boon to consumers, but it’s also meant that oil companies have done less exploration over the last few years. This is likely a contributing factor to why EV battery costs have not yet fallen fast enough to make EVs cheaper overall than traditional ICE vehicles. Because there hasn’t been much risk, it’s unlikely we’ll see big, mispriced opportunities in the energy markets around batteries for a while at least. This means there could be more volatility in battery pricing and will certainly limit the opportunity set and potential pie-size for investors into future innovations in sustainable mobility when compared with alternatives during this period of excess capital chasing too few large investment ideas on alternative energy storage solutions.

I don't know why it never occured to me that petro didn't chose his own name. how did they pick that name, then? (petros the petrification guy right)
Yeah!
"Petro" is basically a shortening of "Petrified" and "Peter" (which is what Lake and Locke call him) means "rock" so it's a bit of a pun

Pierre is a masculine given name. It is a French form of the name Peter.[1] Pierre originally meant "rock" or "stone" in French (derived from the Greek word πέτρος (petros) meaning "stone, rock", via Latin "petra").

Something I've been thinking about is the renaming of Jacob Israel, seen in a trans way. Like, obviously there's the importance of renaming to many of us, but there's also often seen to be some sort of conflict in that pride is the name of a sin, and the name of our movement. But, like, when we speak of queer pride we mean unapologetical self determination against great odds, and that is what Israel shows, and they aren't just not punished, they're rewarded. They are given everything they struggled for.
i think about this a lot as well! renaming is a very common way in which Y--- seals a covenant with his chosen people: abram becomes abraham, jacob becomes israel, hosea to joshua. in the NT saul becomes paul, and simon becomes peter (or, specifically, petros, the rock on which the church is built- yeah jesus gave him a pun name). even enoch becomes metatron. and there's something particularly interesting about these changes because it means that people are changing their family name to something else, something inspired by something that lies outside of the family. in all cases the names are changed by the deity, except in the case of joshua, whose name is changed by moses- but importantly moses is acting on behalf of God and, as in the cases of everyone else, preparing joshua to take up a new, divinely inspired life under God's direct influence. but i think what you've said about self-determination specifically is important. what is perceived by many people to be self-determination is actually God-determination.
i find the sin of pride to be a sticky one- much like "using God's name in vain", i think its been oversimplified by lazy theology. using God's name "in vain" doesn't mean swearing or foul language, it specifically means misusing God's name in solemn oath- a traditional practice pivotal to hebrew life, where a verbal oath was binding when God was invoked (dating back to the mizpah agreement between jacob and laban), and an idea that we can expand to more modern applications of doing things that explicitly go against God's word in the name of God (i.e., killing in the name of God, or hatred in the name of God). similarly, "pride" is a highly necessary part of human development and survival. God wants us to take pride in ourselves because when we do, we are glorifying him and we are importantly aiding our ability to survive in an uncertain world that often systematically tries to strip us of purpose, worth, and love. if we are made in God's image, there is nothing wrong with taking pride in those innate traits which come from God. one's transness is a gift from God, and our ability to love- platonically, erotically, romantically, or otherwise- is, of course, God itself- so it is important and holy to take pride in these things. people will conflate pride with arrogance and in the case of those marginalized with use this as an excuse to continue loudly and even violently marginalizing them- we see this in the treatment of our own pride movement, of black pride and other racial and cultural celebrations, in the emergence of pseudo-movements like "white pride" and "hetero pride" to "combat" perceived threat from minority groups. but pride movements are, even in their most secular form, about celebrating inherent value and worth in a system that endeavours to strip worth from both the individual and the group: it is about celebrating the innate sanctity and divinity of something which God has made and has, through his creation, imbued value. whether your believe in God as a personified being or not, the very act of being a created thing- an existent- implies value. and we can hardly not take pride in our own value in an inhospitable world.

Ezekiel 44:1-45:12, 1 Peter 1:1-12, Psalms 119:17-32, Proverbs 28:8-10
Today is the 22nd day of November welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it is great to be here with you all cozy around the Global Campfire as we move forward together like every day the next step forward. That step forward will lead us back into the book of Ezekiel in the Old Testament, and then we get to the New Testament we have some brand-new territory to move into, the letters of Peter. And, of course, we’ll begin with first Peter, and we’ll talk about that when we get there. But first, we’re reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week. And today Ezekiel chapter 44 verse 1 through 45 verse 12.
Introduction to First Peter:
Okay. So, this brings us to our New Testament reading for today and it's new territory that we are moving into, first Peter. And, so, like Peter is not somebody we don't know. In fact, Peter’ somebody that we kind of met at the very beginning of the year and he was one of the disciples of Jesus. And, so, we followed along with Jesus and Peter was there many many times and many many famous stories include Peter in the Gospels. And then we get to the book of Acts, and we learned more about Peter's transformation and how it was that he kind of move from a fisherman into a very very powerful speaker and ambassador for the kingdom and church leader. And, so, we know who Peter is and we know some of his comings and goings but this is going to be the first time that we can hear his passion in a written form, And if we’re still kind of getting over James, which we just went through. And James, kinda comes out of nowhere and smacks us upside the head and says basically you can't read a script. If you've been given a Christian script and you’re reading the lines but you’re just acting, like you're an actor carrying out the script, that's nothing. Your changed life tells the truth about who you are, not so much what you say. Anybody can say anything, among other things that James had to tell us. So, if we’re still kinda moving past that going, wow, that was a spanking, we remember getting to know Peter a bit in the Gospels. We know that he can be feisty. So, it's like we’re ready to dish out a second helping of what James was teaching, and we will have some more direct, forthright, look us in the face, look us right in the eyes and tell us the truth coming out of first Peter. And, so, we just need to be ready and embrace that, Now, Peter…Peter's name is given name was Simon maybe Simeon, Simon Peter, right? But by the time Peter was a part of the inner circle of Jesus disciples Jesus was calling him Cephas. And Cephas in the Aramaic language means rock. And, so, when Aramaic is then translated into the more common Greek of the New Testament the word is Petros. Petros in Greek means rock. And this is how we get to the sort of modern day name Peter. It’s a translation out of the Greek. But having the in the advantage of knowing Peter's story from the Gospels we know that Peter reached a very very very low moment, denying three times that he knew Jesus, that he even knew Jesus. This is taking place in the courtyard of the high priest as Jesus is being tried, and then subsequently crucified. And, so, we watched this happen to Peter. We watched Peter realize what he was doing and what he had done. We watched him weep in repentance. We watched Jesus by the shores of the Sea of Galilee restore Peter. And we have followed Peter all the way from there to the upper room in Jerusalem where the Holy Spirit came with what appeared to be tongues of fire, the coming of the Holy Spirit. And in the book of Acts we saw that pretty quickly after that. Because people were hearing people in this upper room speak in languages that they understood but not languages that they should be able to speak., And, so they're saying these guys are just drunk. And it's Peter that steps forward and says they're not drunk, it's 9 o'clock in the morning. And then he proceeds to share the gospel in a very very powerful way. Now, or later in the development of the church, Peter is a church leader. I mean there so many other things we can talk about Peter. Like we’re just skimming the surface of what we know from the New Testament. But this is who Peter is and by the time that he is writing now the church has developed a little bit. And Peter writes this letter and identifies the location as Babylon. Most scholars find that to be synonymous with Rome. And Peter addresses the letter to the chosen people of God who are foreigners living in the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia. And these were provinces of the Roman empire all now located within modern day Turkey. And Peter's using this term God's chosen people who are living as foreigners, that's something that everybody, every Jewish person would've understand, understood. Those who had been cast away, moved away, on the way in many exiles in fleeing from persecution looking for safety and peace. Basically, the foreigners in the diaspora, those who had been dispersed all over the world. Peter is forthright, he is direct, he is not afraid to say what he needs to say, but he's not trying to be mean or condemning. He is trying to be encouraging and lift up those who are suffering because of their faith in Jesus and to encourage them that there is hope. And it's a glorious hope, but endurance is necessary. Endurance is necessary becomes such an important early church theme that permeates the New Testament, something that so often we think were absolved from. We don’t have to struggle. We have a mighty God. But our brothers and sisters who were founding this movement, they had to endure and endurance is part of the story. And, so, just understanding that it's a part of the story should reframe the categories in our minds because we think that all hard things are bad things when actually sometimes there just endurance, they’re just things we have to move through. There are lessons there for us to learn. And this is certainly true of the lessons that Peter has for us to learn. And, so, with that we begin. First Peter chapter 1 verses 1 through 12.
Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for Your word. Thank You for this new territory that we are in in the letters of Peter. Holy Spirit, come and lead and guide and direct and correct. Move us forward. Let these letters that are straightforward and forthright speak directly the truth into our lives causing us to change, to repent, to move in new directions. We love You and You have no problem guiding us. We have problems following You. This has been the human story. This is the story that we read of through the Bible. We want to go our own way and then we hate when we get there and then we blame You that we got there. May we follow where You are leading so that wherever we go, we are with You and wherever that ends up that is good. Come Holy Spirit, we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hello from beautiful Cincinnati OH this is Daniel Johnson junior. I am speaking this to you on Thursday November 17th, 2022. Today 31 years ago I was sick and tired of my life. I repented and made Jesus Lord. And I have worked and been working to make Jesus Lord every day, every moment since that time that I first made Jesus Lord and was baptized. I've done good day…good days and then I've had other days that are not so good. And more than anything it's just continual repentance and my hope is that by the time I'm done with my journey it will be sad of me that he made Jesus Lord every day. So, I'm excited about that and of course every day in the Daily Audio Bible when we come to this day I'm reminded that we of this and also the favorite scripture that really goes along with a rebirth day is Psalm 16, which we read today. And I don't know by heart the NIV version which is what we read today but I know the Message version and verse 12 verse through 14. What can I give back to God for all the blessing He’s poured out on me I will lift high the cup of salvation and follow through and follow the promises I have made to Him. So, Amen Lord, make it so. From beautiful Cincinnati OH this is Daniel Johnson junior God bless you and let's make it a great day.
Hello DAB family it's Widespread Jesus oh out of Omaha NE. I was calling regarding a couple prayer requests that I have. First is for my niece. She's 19 years old. She's living on her own. She's having roommate issues where her roommate left her so now, she's in some financial trouble. She's having a lot of anxiety, having migraines, you know, filled with stress at that age and she's seeking wisdom and discernment from me as her uncle, and I want to be there for her, but I don't know exactly what…what to do for her or how to support her. So, I pray for this whole situation. I pray for relief and breakthrough for her and I pray for wisdom and discernment and for me and the whole situation to help her out. And I also have a prayer request for my job situation. It's been a pretty struggle lately over the past few months and I have an opportunity to make a pivot within the same company which I do love. So, I really do think this is God's calling for me but I wanna make sure that it is the right…the right move for me for the future. So, if you could look me up in prayer and that I could have clarity and the decision and I just greatly appreciate the prayers for that. And then also an update on our friend Nick who's battling liver failure. He’s still in the ICU which is unbelievable. I mean it’s been going on five six months. There's little progress but not major strides. So, I appreciate continued prayers for him. I thank you DAB family. I love you and I just thank you for all…all the prayers and thank you for this community and I lift up Jesus and all praise and glory to Him. Amen.
Hey DAB family, this is Jasmine calling in from New York. I haven't called since like September of 2021 the beginning of my junior in high school. And I'm just calling in. This is my senior year in high school at the moment and I've been going through the same thing since last school year we're up strong in my faith and my devotions to God during the summer but once school gets here I start to fall back on it and start to procrastinate only…not only with just getting closer with God and meditating on His word day and night but also with school work because I am a determined student and I've been just going through procrastination and even anxiety and low self-esteem, like all of it just hitting in all directions. And I just ask for prayer. I ask you guys to pray for me so that I would be able to just keep walking in faith and have the courage to keep moving and the strength and the…the power that the Lord has given me because I really lost the courage that I've had. I don’t…I feel like I don't have anyone like around me to just uplift me and like brothers and sisters in Christ who just influence me to do what I should be doing. So, I just pray and I thank you guys for…well…I…yeah…I thank you guys for just praying for me and I've been praying in the background as well. Like Val in Vegas, you make us…you make me smile every single day and Blind Tony as well. So, I thank you as well. And yeah. Bye
Hi everyone, it's David from California. I just wanted to say hello to all the DABbers out there. I haven't called in a while but for some reason it's been on my mind, and I just have not been able to get it out of my mind. And also, my heart, I think. So, I just want to pray. There's…there's four people that stand out to me that I just want to pray for two of those. One of those gentlemen and the other one was a woman who one of them said that you wanted to be wiped away from existence and the other woman said she’d wanted to not wake up ever again and the gentleman had said that he's given, and he's talked to churches and then he said that he's doing something wrong and everything else like that. And I just gotta say brother, you know, for…for anybody to say that you're doing something wrong, even if it's somebody that's a pastor or anything like that, yes, we hold them up to a higher standard but they’re still human and they’re still not God and only God can be the one to tell you that. So, I pray for you and the woman who wanted to not ever wake up again, sister I just I pray that God is able to touch you. And then there's the woman who I'm sorry I'm not remembering your name whose husband passed away at 1:00 o'clock in the morning after a marriage of 41 years who still called in for someone else. Man…I…it just it floors me that that you…you had the heart to call even though your husband had just passed away…
Good evening Daily Audio Bible this is Chris Ann and some of you may have heard my prayers asking for prayers in the past several years and I'm really needing them again. So, on Friday I will be going to court with my husband for our divorce that I've been praying for nine years that wouldn't happen. The Lord stopped it several years ago and nothing happened until he recently and my husband filed papers again. Because everyone may know that he had an affair and left, and I have been faithful and praying and believing and trusting that we can reconcile and come back together. He has been in my life for almost 38 years, and I am absolutely just heartbroken. And as it's getting closer it's getting harder and I'm just asking for your prayers that I could get through this and that the Lord would hear my prayers in all of this. And even now still praying for reconciliation but I need prayers to be able to get through this. Thank you and God bless.
