#goal was to make him 2x as unlikeable than before lmao #I think story bits are putting themselves together #older cot is now in a position of leadership #Vv left the team or retired for reasons after a big fight #during which xieran lost an eye and all of them got traumatized #cot grapples with the feeling of betrayal from Vv leaving them but also understanding of their reasons and cot’s own desire to retire #cot doesn’t like playing by the rule book anymore and actively goes out of their way to make things difficult for everyone besides xieran #ie getting paperwork done on time and then hiding it so the people who need it can’t find it or have to go to extreme lengths to find it #stops caring altogether for the organization which they work for #maybe even has several contingencies or leverage to bring the organization down to its knees #and instead of using it just dangles it over their head for the amusement of their grappling and vulnerability #their own petty revenge for what he perceives as the organization forcing his closest friend to break under pressure and leave #he also knows fully well that bringing down the organization would be forcing the several hundreds under their employment into poverty #which he doesn’t do mostly because xieran still exists as a voice of reason for them #probably feels some amount of guilt for being the only unharmed out of the battle that injured xieran and pushed Vv to retirement #after all their role is never at the front line. at the best they are a distance attacker #because they insist on bringing a gun to a sword fight

am i being an ass by not liking the “blue’s raticate was killed by red” theory (at least when its done as if it objectively happened in canon)

#ik its for kicks but it kinda ruins their arc to me. blue is a smug little kid whos letting his famous granddad get to his head #and while oak still sucks at the end for rubbing salt into the wound its still part of blues arc of getting humbled #but when you toss in pokemon murder into that it changes the dynamic entirely. now it isnt a petty kid fight that gets kinda out of hand #its blues pokemon getting murdered and now ohhhh the player is HORRIBLE for hurting him and now its a revenge story #that ends with the murderer winning and the victim getting berated. and then in later games theyre buddy buddy #like. i think in fanworks im open to it being done with nuance (i actually like it in nuzlockes cause it fits the tone. im talking abt canon #but in the game its clear that he just tossed it in the pc and his interaction at lavender town is him being an insensitive kid #echoed voice

Mother in laws

When my husband and I were married about 4 years my infant daughter and I had to stay with my in-laws for about a week. Yes brutal!

Anyway, back then they didn’t have Instapots but they had pressure cookers. Since I was barely domesticated, I had never seen such a thing and when she used it to make a frozen roast for dinner and it was fork tender I was amazed.

She said oh yes I love my pressure cooker I have 2 or 3 of them around here.

Fast forward 2 months and we are in our new home. We receive a package from her and it’s a pressure cooker box.

It was filled with gifts for my daughter and husband.

God, I love that woman! That was some next level pettinesses and just amazing! I laughed so hard. I mean for real. Just epic.

No worries in the end she loved me and years later we moved in with her when she was diagnosed with dementia to take care of her till she passed away.

I’m proud to say I got a smile out of that bad ass woman everyday!

love square study abroad sneak peak 👀 I remember hearing about it in a server and I found the concept very fun

OH YEAH the concept is basically Kyle goes to study abroad and meets and starts dating Christophe, much to the chagrin of Stan and also Gregory. the two of them happen to meet in a bar, hook up, and subsequently start dating in sort of a petty revenge....... much to the chagrin of Kyle and Christophe lmao. good ol' comedy of errors of tophlovski/stangory into style/gregstophe. here's a lil snippet:

“Mon lutin, what are you doing out ‘ere so late?” the man said. His voice was deep, gravely. Grating, Stan thought. “You know what I’m doing,” Kyle said. He gestured to his laptop and the man glanced at Stan. “Ah, talking with ze American ‘oo keeps you from bed.” “Christophe,” Kyle chided, but he smiled as he said the name. Stan wracked his brain, trying desperately to remember who this guy was. The name was familiar, Kyle had said it many times before. Stan was pretty sure they hung out together a lot. Maybe this was his study abroad roommate? Momentarily convinced of this, Stan felt like a freight train hit him when the man– Christophe– grinned at Kyle and nuzzled his neck, planting a kiss there. Oh. Kyle has a boyfriend.  A French boyfriend. That he’s apparently living with.

One of the true-crime shows I watch is “Fear Thy Neighbor,” which is basically stories of neighbors getting mad at one another and usually murdering one or the other.

Anyway, I bring this up because I just started the new season and the first episode is about a set of neighbors in Wilkes-Barre, which is about forty-five minutes from me. One set of neighbors is a pair of loudmouth homophobic bullies, the other neighbor is their verbal punching bag who snaps and murders them during a snowstorm almost three years ago, and literally *everybody*, even the witnesses that day, is fucking armed.

The number of times I heard something on the episode, thought about this area, sighed, and muttered, “Yeah, that tracks” … y’all, I’m just lucky I wasn’t playing a drinking game.

At my last job they played really fucking loud country music over the loudspeakers and made it really hard for me to hear people over the phone, specifically. This was bad because it was my job to answer the phone so I'd have to ask for people to repeat themselves a lot. Usually this was okay until this one dude called and said something to the tune of:

"Is this <company name>? Do you have <incomprehensible>?"

I moved to the computer to check stock and asked for him to repeat the name of the product because I couldn't hear him over the dulcet tones of Phil Phillips. He took offense to this however and yelled into the phone:

"Why don't you put me on the phone with someone who knows what they're talking about?"

Luckily for me one of my coworkers (a very sleepy 18-ish year old who mumble-talked and had a tendency to just... wander off in the middle of talking to customers) was on the clock so I transferred the call over to him. I didn't get to hear what transpired exactly but judging by the new negative Google review posted the next day I think it went to plan.

"I did, but as I said, I misplaced it", Erwin blabbered, "I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in my stuff, but this little stall is such a mess I can't find anything. It might also be in my trailer. Either way, if I do find it, I'll text you, ok?"

Aiganym was still not buying it, but went along with him. There was no point in trying to force him to tell the truth.

"Right", she replied. "I'll bring you a copy of my notes when I've got enough and then you'll find that keycard. How much money do you want? It's just so I know how much to save up."

"250 simoleons", said Erwin.

"Deal."

"I'm pretty sure that keycard is somewhere..."

"I'll tell you, you're a nice guy, but if you rip me off, I'll rat you out and they'll come for you."

Of course, she had no real intention of doing it, even if he did end up scamming her (at worst, she'd probably just put some fresh dog poop on his trailer's doorstep) but this little threat made him jolt. She didn't know if he was believing it, but at least, he seemed to understand that if he dared rip her off, that would mean a lot of trouble for him.

"...Alright. I'll find the keycard right now and text you pronto."

"Thanks. I'll buy another item from you if you follow through."

"Oh... thank you."

Remembering that time a kid in my class wanted to be a streamer and streamed fortnite on YouTube to like 3 viewers tops and I watched him often because he asked for support and I was nice. Then one day he started trash-talking me on his stream.
