ENDING ON A HIGH NOTE

It is with great relief I can say goodbye to the Miramar kickstarter (for now) - the campaign closed out at a stunning 377% funded (barring, of course, credit card failures and the like), I've already begun sending money to our printer in Shenzhen, and all from a mall food court (the local power utility had to replace a telephone pole, so i had to find internet elsewhere).

BUT - I wanted to share a little taste of @stefantosheff's other, non-Miramar work, seeing as he's launching a patreon. You can find it here - but most importantly, here's a little pitch for the story he's going to be serializing on there:

PHANERON!

Ronnie has become lost in time due to unseen forces at work. He is Schrodinger’s boy, neither here nor there, but he’s too dim to realize it. Being removed from time and space has given him the powers and means to change his past if he so chooses. And choose he must, as the Omniverse has begun to crumble and it seems like it might be his fault. Without his guiding light and partner, Lorna, Ronnie must face his greatest enemy—himself—in order to save the Omniverse and stop time-space itself from ripping apart. Hold onto your butts!

ALTERHUMANITY - otherworldly terms; something not from this world; akin to a demon, apparition, entity, yokai, of the like.

n. my alterhuman and therian identities may not be entirely separate, so i usually combine them, hence labels i use like ‘vulpine entity’.

THERIOTYPES

T-1: Black Morph Vulpes Vulpes [red fox]

i imagine mostly all black morph, but variations of silver to black also work. global variant of red fox is unknown. more strategic rogue than cheeky prankster in terms of trickster spirits.

i heavily lean more towards fox folklore and vulpine beasts aside from just “fox”, so i prefer to call myself that over simply the mammalia, but the id still stands.

T-2: Black Morph Felis Catus

first ever id; awakening/connections since childhood. no discernible breed. fully dark coat; more wild than domesticated. the shadowy familiar, perched beside a bubbling cauldron. a small, dark shape slinking between headstones.

T-3: Arachnids (Spiders)

i’ve yet to discern a specific species of spiders for myself, but the deep relation still stands. i have debated skeleton tarantula, spiky orb weaver, common black spider, among others. a misunderstood little creature with a brilliant mind. one of the witches’ smallest, craftiest familiars.

i take autistic nonhuman identity in general seriously & have been dealing with such matters for a very long time; it’s all very personal

i can never discern whether im truly canid or felid or both…. top 10 unanswered questions…. regardless i happily embrace it

It's not my friends who do the hc's, it was more to reference that most folks around me don't get why I act the way I do around hc's. I get anxious when I see any ND hc's relating to my NDs, then physical+brain shit happens, even though I know my ND isn't universal, but it's like my brain "rejects?" that knowledge. I can't tell anyone, bc trying to explain it ppl who know that I'm ND, don't get it bc "You obviously know other ND's and symptoms exist, so what's your prob?" IDK what the prob is!

ah, sorry for misunderstanding re who was doing the hcs, but re everything else, what i said still applies??? the issue isn't that it's wrong to have incorrect or illogical feelings that make you think certain hcs suck, even when the feeling is like "um actually all of your hcs are wrong because only werewolves can have cancer", i mean dude, my username is the name of my delusion, you think anything you say is gonna be so illogical that i go "wow yeah the thoughts you're having are bad"? they're just thoughts. you're in here fishing for someone to validate that you're allowed to beat yourself up for this, and you are, you can beat yourself up if you actually want to do that, but there's nothing inherent to how the headcanons make you feel that means you or your friends have reason to beat you up for it. they don't have to understand what exactly bothers you, you don't have to explain what does, you're allowed to just go "this vibrates on a different frequency to me, i think" and ignore it. i think your problem is that you haven't had chance to make peace with being isolated in your phaneron and unable to convey the masses within to the masses outside. that really is the only way to cope with being illogical and having the people around you unable to understand, because there isn't an answer for how to drill it into their heads that you feel things but can't logic those feelings away. you can tell them that. but how many posts have i made explaining delusions only for people to respond with allcaps "YOU ARE DANGEROUS, THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE LOCKED UP FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AND THE DELUSIONS NEED TO BE ARGUED AGAINST, IF YOU SIMPLY DON'T ARGUE AND INSTEAD BE A SAFE PLACE WHERE THE PERSON WON'T SPIRAL OR FEEL THREATENED THEN IT'LL ACTUALLY MAKE THEM DIE" because they don't know shit but refuse to actually understand how it feels to have these things. i mean, you can try to explain to your friends that when you say a headcanon bugs you then you're not launching a moral case for there being actual flaws, you're just having your disorder kind of triggered by it differing from what your disorder expects, and it doesn't have to be logical and can't be logicked away, and them arguing against you will only further the trigger spiral, as with all illogical thoughts (eg delusions, you argue -> brain panicks and defends itself and adds layers -> delusion gets worse actually) if they're likely to listen. if they're not, just say "sorry i'm a leo" and refuse to engage for your own health and safety. when you have triggers, you need to learn what level of involvement with it you could handle, then learn to moderate your engagement, and be capable of disengaging and going to a more relaxed/safe space. everything i could tell you is mindfulness exercises and having a stupid excuse planned and accepting some people don't listen.

The world, as filtered in through our senses

The term phaneron plays a major role in epistemology and phenomenology, and is usually associated with Charles Sanders Pierce who famously said:

"By the phaneron I mean the collective total of all that is in any way or in any sense present to the mind, quite regardless of whether it corresponds to any real thing or not"

To put it in simpler terms, imagine what would happen if the limits of human perception were to be tweaked just a little bit. A few more colours that our eyes could see. A few more sounds for our ears. It is highly doubtful, almost certainly impossible that we would see the same world as we do now.

The world we call our reality. So it becomes fairly easy to see how the image of the world our senses let in to the brain can be drastically different from how it actually is.

Perhaps the simplest example could be how two people may perceive the same thing as hot or cold. The thing in question has changed nothing about it, yet two individuals can not agree upon an actual state for it.

So is that it? The ultimate limitation of the human mind? To exist in a small slice of reality, forever cut off from the facts of the universe?

Also, it begs of question of what would a being actually capable of viewing the world as it is be like. Would it be correct to automatically give it the name of god, or does it not even make a difference?

What's your favorite delta rune, and when did the game sell itself to you?

Do you mean fan design? I’m sure there are subtle variations, but I didn’t think there was really more than one delta rune design in the game. Oddly enough, Undertale almost lost me at the beginning of the ruins, but I was hooked by the end.
