When breeding time comes around each year, the spring, the peacock will try to impress the peahen as much as possible. Apart from displaying his feathers and train, he will also guard his territory and make loud noise to ward off other males. The peacock’s feathers have microscopic structures that appear like crystals and the purpose of the large train, the ornamental feathers, is for courtship displays and mating rituals.
