When I walked past these courts the other day I remembered a piece of writing I had started working on during my postgrad, about the way the law is created by those in power to oppress and control the marginalised. I abandoned it at the time because I chose to write a different piece, on europe and law as a vehicle for the erasure of colonialist history, but the way things have been recently has really made me want to revisit the things I wrote years ago. I wonder if the point I was trying to articulate then now seems eerily prescient or just naïve. The fixation on law, order and enforcement used to oppress and create power structures seems more obvious than ever, more important than ever to critique and dismantle. Increasingly we look towards alternatives. It now seems impossible to look on these buildings as symbols of justice when the system is so broken. Just a lot of thoughts lately that seem to have no place to go

Headcannon that should be cannon if that day comes.

[Y'all know in Supernatural when the angels die, their wings get scorched on the ground. So just imagine Phil dies.]

His wings are scorched into the snow, which doesn't melt, ever making it black. And after they bury him, in the gap between two wings, a red heart appears out of nowhere. Techno comes one day and decorates it the wither roses making it look like the hardcore heart which Phil wore as a pendant.

The trees grow wildly afterwards; they cross the fence. The things Phil built for his most loved ones, his priced items, beloved gifts and the black wings emit the bedrock particles all the time. [in the old version of Minecraft, the bedrock had tiny particles coming from it and Phil loved it]. The particles never go away and the whole place gets a dark graceful glow, powering it. Just imagine. The arctic area, his wings, the few things here and there or the friendship emeralds emitting tiny particles.

Imagine Phil asking for Techno's safety to mumza and she just gifts it in subtle ways like the particles because she knows Techno and his ways. Techno won't know, he isn't a building genius. And the particles are very old too.

An eternal ruin for an almost eternal angel.

So uni might start offline in like 2 or so months and besties my social battery and skills didn't get the memo.✨

Also started Sarah Bakewell's at the existentialist cafe and it's a really good book, super digestible material on the origins of existentialism. Kinda made me wanna pick up Walter Kaufmann's existentialism from Dostoevsky to Sartre again, who knows maybe once I finish up my finals I might read through my favourite parts. ✨

Also found one of my dad's old book which is Joad's The Meaning of Life and..... it's falling apart.... I don't know if that's foreshadowing tbh with y'all.
