Philip von Schantz (Feb. 21, 1928 - 1998) was a Swedish artist and professor at the Royal Academy in Stockholm.
He began as a hyper-realist painter in the 60s, specializing in large still life paintings, but later he began to stylize and reduce his compositions to simple figures and colors.
Here are two examples from Moderna Museet in Stockholm:
Modifikation över vinterlandskap av W.Ö. Petersen, 1987 (oil on canvas)
Roslagsvinter, n/y, acquired in1994 (color lithography)

Philip von Schantz - Still Life with Turnips [1983] by Gandalf's Gallery
Via Flickr:
Philip von Schantz (Norrköping, February 21, 1928 - Stockholm, August 12, 1998) was a Swedish artist. During the 1970s, he became very popular with the public when he made pictures of berries in large piles, as well as fruits and potatoes in old boxes and enamel buckets. His still life showed the smallest details and very lifelike representations, where "every single berry" could be counted. [Bukowski’s Auctions - Oil on canvas, 50 x 65 cm]
