Fic Updates

Hi frens - going to talk about some expectations for fic updates from me and get a little personal in hopes of providing some context for why you're seeing update delays from me.

To be entirely transparent: I have no idea if I will get either of the expected WIPs out this weekend. It's no secret I've been struggling with The Iron Ring. I am working on it when I can, but the process has not been as rewarding as I would like it to be - this comes and goes as a writer.

I expected to be able to have a full first chapter of Pinch of Sugar out Saturday, as this is a work I'm really looking forward to, but this is literally what's going on: I have a really severe phobia of roaches, and a new neighbor moved in two months ago and now I can't stop roaches from getting in my apartment.

For some context: I live in Florida where it rains all the time and the roaches here are massive. I have previously had to move apartments last year after eight months in living what I can only describe as a living nightmare. I was sleeping in my car for almost eight months because of the amount of roaches in my apartment and I am going to spare you the visuals because every worst thing you can imagine happening with them happened to me - AND NOW IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN. THIS IS NOT VERY LIVE LAUGH LOVE RIGHT NOW. NOT FEELING VERY FUCKIN BORAHAE FOR THESE BUGS.

SORRY - this is a VERY long-winded way of me saying that I hope to get two works done by the weekend, but I am too afraid to sit at my writing desk located near the kitchen to write, as childish as this sounds.

Um. This was long and sort of rant-y so if you made it this far, congrats. I love u. If anyone wants to come be a live in exterminator I will feed u and house u for free. U can live in my second bedroom / gaming / anime cave.

old, familiar feelings. still just as immobilizing and only slightly more manageable. putting into perspective how difficult it is isn’t easy; just know that despite no longer revolving my day around it when it does push its way in it’s still as isolating and terrifying as it was four years ago when i didn’t have a name for it or a reason. i want to kill this thing in my head i thought i had but i guess i haven’t. i’m understanding it will never truly be dead and learning to be brave despite that
