Things to Do Canada Day Weekend in Toronto 2019
Canada Day is Monday, July 1, 2019. Monday is the statutory holiday so most businesses will be closed. We’re lucky that we get a three day weekend this year so let’s make the most of it. We’ve rounded up our favourite Canada Day Weekend events in Toronto 2019 below.
Q107 Canada Day Picnic at Woodbine Park 2019
On Monday, July 1, 2019, join Q107 for food, fun and live music at Woodbine Park near the Beaches. The day will feature tribute bands to Santana, Neil Young, Radiohead, The Foo Fighters, U2, Chicago, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Enjoy Toronto’s largest fireworks display from Ashbridges Bay at the end of the night accompanied by a live band! Enjoy midway rides, great food and a selection of beer in the Mill Street Beer Garden, hosted by Mill Street Brewery. Stop by the Q107 tent to purchase a limited edition Canada Day Q-shirt for only $20…there are only 150 shirts! Free admission. Event runs from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Kansas City Royals on Canada Day Weekend 2019
Come down to Rogers Centre to see the Toronto Blue Jays vs. the Kansas City Royals on Canada Day Weekend 2019 presented by Honda from Friday, June 28 to Monday, July 1, 2019. Make sure you arrive early each day as there will be Canada festivities taking place throughout the ballpark all weekend. On Friday, June 28, 2019, the first 15,000 fans to enter Rogers Centre will receive a Grichuk Ran-Doll giveaway courtesy of Honda. On Monday, July 1, pregame ceremonies will pay tribute to the Canadian Armed Forces. Additionally, the first 15,000 fans to enter the ballpark on July 1, 2019 will receive a Blue Jays Relaxed Denim Hat Giveaway presented by Honda. Jr. Jays Sundays programming will not run on Canada Day Weekend. Tickets for the Toronto Blue Jays are $27.50, $37.50, $40.50, $46.50, $56.50, $72.50, $79.50, and $83.50 and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster or at the Rogers Centre Box Office. South Korean boy band Got7 performs at Scotiabank Arena (formerly Air Canada Centre) on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $80, $153.50, $216.25 and $279 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.

One of the most popular Canada Day Weekend events in Toronto 2019 is the spectacular fireworks display at Ashbridge’s Bay Park on Mon., July 1, 2019 beginning at 9:45 p.m. Ashbridge’s Bay Park gets really busy so if it’s too crowded, you’ll also be able to see the fireworks from adjoining Woodbine Beach. Ashbridge’s Bay Park is located at Lake Shore Boulevard East and Coxwell Avenue. There is limited parking. TTC is recommended.

Toronto Ribfest 2019
Toronto Ribfest takes place Canada Day Weekend at Etobicoke Centennial Park, 256 Centennial Park Road. Choose your favourite ribs from a variety of rib teams and or enjoy chicken, burgers, fries, vegetables, nachos, and other food options. Toronto Ribfest will also host a great lineup of musical acts, shows, and events throughout Canada Day weekend to be announced. There will be over a dozen bands performing rock, blues, country, jazz, world music, and bluegrass on three stages. Other activities include magic shows, celebrity food judging, and a large midway. The Kids Zone will have games for kids while adults can enjoy food and music in the beer garden. Canada Day will feature special performers, free face painting, magic shows, and a fireworks display at sundown. Toronto Ribfest hours are June 28, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and June 29, 2019 to July 1, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Purchase VIP tickets to avoid line-ups. VIP tickets include service at your private covered table, access to executive washrooms, free samples courtesy of festival sponsors and giveaways.
Canada Day 2019 at Downsview Park
Celebrate Canada Day at Downsview Park on Monday, July 1, 2019. The day will feature free activities, including free inflatables, games for kids, face painting, live entertainment, as well as a fireworks display at the end of the night. This free Canada Day event begins at 4 p.m. and takes place at the festival terrace beside 35 Carl Hall Road. Admission and parking is free, however parking is limited! Downsview Park is easily accessible via public transit – take the 101 Parc Downsview Park bus directly from Sheppard West Station, or a short walk from Downsview Park Station. Downsview Park is located at 70 Canuck Avenue, North York. Event takes place from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

TD Toronto Jazz Festival 2019
The TD Toronto Jazz Festival 2018 takes place June 21-30, 2019, with the main stages located in Yorkville. There are many free performances during the festival. Yorkville free performances are bring-your-own-chair. During the Canada Day Weekend 2019, select performances include the following (check website for other dates and times):
Fri., June 28, 2019, 5:30 p.m. – Saajtak at TD Mainstage on Cumberland Street. Free.
Fri., June 28, 2019, 6:45 p.m. – Magnolia Brass Band at Village of Yorkville Park. Free.
Fri., June 28, 2019, 8 p.m. – Alison Young at The Rex Jazz & Blues Bar. Cover at the door.
Fri., June 28, 2019, 8:15 p.m. – Laila Biali with William Sperandei at TD Mainstage on Cumberland Street. Free.
Fri., June 28, 2018 – 10 p.m. – Donny McCaslin at The Rex Jazz & Blues Bar. Cover at the door.
